It was the summer of 2019 and President Trump was about to embark on a state visit to the tiny Nordic country of Denmark.
Both parties were readying themselves for bilateral talks, but that was before President Trump floated one of his famous spontaneous trial balloons.
Trump said that he had had a conversation with the Danish prime minister, stating that the U.S. might be interested in purchasing the island of Greenland. He said that the concept came up and he said that he would be interested in the purchase from a strategic point of view.
This did not sit well with the Danish prime minister, Mette Frederiksen, who has been described

If Greenlanders want to become a US territory fine. If they want billions of dollars, I doubt it would be a good deal. Take a look at the national debt. The US has an abundance of minerals in the country but the Federal government has them all locked up. Biden just signed an executive order locking up more of the Powder Basin in Wyoming.

No. Isn't Greenland a welfare state of Denmark? Why would we buy Denmark's dependent? We already have Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and American Samoa as our own welfare states.

Buy Greenland, and move DC there. It’s a win win!

The purchases of both Louisiana (essentially most of central and western USA) and Alaska were heavily criticized at the times by short sighted little minds of the time.

Picking up Greenland would be wonderful. If the Greenlanders are all in, go for it, Mr. President.

Great idea. Make it so, Mr. President. If the Greenlanders are ok with it, that is.

Greenland is rich in recourses low in population.
It's located in a strategic area & can become a great asset.
Trump can make the deal & America would benefit.
Remember they called the purchase of Alaska Steward's folly.

Yep, I thought this was a wonderful idea the first time I heard Trump suggest it a few years back! Could even become critical if one takes the long view.....

Invoke the Monroe Doctrine and kick Denmark out of the western hemisphere. Plant our flag in Thule and start digging those resources. MAGA!!

Greenland has great resources & small population.
It's strategically located & therefore important.
Trump would get a good deal.

You can bet your bottom ruble that if Denmark were "threatened" by anyone, the first panic call they'd make is to the USA!

If Trump succeeds in acquiring Greenland, he’ll have to see to it the language changes to English for the next generation. Or maybe not. After all, Puerto Ricans still speak Spanish since the island became a US territory.

#2. PDJT can issue another EO as soon as he's inaugurated reversing FJB's EO.
I learned a lot about Greenland from this article. About all I knew before is it's a popular refueling and rest area when ferrying light aircraft across the "pond".

only 60k people there, there IS a price where a majority would agree to sell, or rather "Be paid to Join" as a USA territory. Denmark's Prez sez..."Greenland is free people, free of Denmark, we don't own the place!"
Sooo... Danes don't need to be paid at all...right?
Former Presidents paid over twice as much for the tiny "Virgin Islands"(or one of them), as we paid for massive Alaska.
I have been curious for a while what resources might be undiscovered there, under massive amounts of Ice, Elon now has the means to find out..safely, economically, in a clean "Environmentally Careful" way. His tunneling company doesn't get much press, but tunneling through Ice is easier than stone. There may be massive amounts of GOLD there, as well as rare earth and more common minerals.

There may be a lot of criminal trials for ex-government employees coming up in the next year.
Great place for a gulag.
Just saying...

The good, 700k, people of Greenland have a say in whether they stay with Denmark or go with us. Make the pitch to them. I'm sure that, Dem woke policies aside, they could do much better with the U.S. and don't they know it.
