Lisa Murkowski is itching to vote against firebrand Matt Gaetz as attorney general. She may not get the chance. If the new Senate leadership recesses the Senate for three days, Gaetz can take office as a recess appointment, circumventing the confirmation process. It remains to be seen if Senate Majority Leader John Thune will play ball. The Gaetz appointment is a giant middle finger to those in the Justice Department who have harassed Trump since before he took office in 2017. It started with the Russia hoax, and it's been going on nonstop for eight years. The final straw came when the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago, including searching Melania's

A recess appointment of Gaetz will only be a "masterstroke" if your goal is to lose the House and Senate in the 2026 midterm elections. Be very cautious, Mr. President-elect.

I despise the way conservatives automatically pick up the demonization language of the left, when referring to a fellow conservative, as in "firebrand" Matt Gaetz. Here is another option. Call people by their name, and leave off the adjectives ---- but diminutives before leftist's names can be excepted, because they have earned the disrespect, and Republicans are too weak to put any of them in jail for violating the law.

I came across this radical idea yesterday posted in a comment in response to an article regarding the secret Republican Senate vote on Senate leadership. Sounds like "burnt earth" but maybe now is the time? Reply 14 - Posted by: DVC 11/13/2024 2:07:38 PM (No. 1833699) US Constitution, Article 1, Section 3. "The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided. The Senate shall chuse their other Officers, and also a President pro tempore, in the Absence of the Vice President, or when he shall exercise the Office of President of the United States." OK, in recent history, the VP has just folded up and taken a nap and let the Senate Majority Leader run things. Keying off #12's excellent post, Vance should show up on day one and just RUN THE SENATE, and ignore Thune, work via Scott. Cut out the Deep State Uniparty folks. TAKE the power in the Senate and let them howl like the banshees that they are, and harumph all day. The Constitution says President of the Senate. I think the President of the Senate should decide exactly what powers that entails. And if you don't like it, phone up the Supreme Court who will probably not take the call. HARDBALL politics, all caps, and no slack. Cut Thune OUT, don't just let him run things. When you mean to shake up the game, break out the rule book and read it carefully, then follow those rules. All the Senate "rules" are just made up crap and they just all voted to agree to do it that way. I'll BET that the President of the Senate, if he was ballsy, could just say, "Yeah, well, I decided we won't do it that way any more." And they have NO Constitutional basis to bypass him.

All Trump's picks, not just Gaetz, shows Trump is going to war against the deep state. The 2024 version of President Trump is leaner, meaner, and far more politically savvy than the 2016 version. After going through hell and learning his lessons the hard way, he’s back with a finely-tuned vengeance the Swamp has never seen.

As usual I'm confused. None of President Trump's appointments can't take effect until he takes the Oath of Office in January 2025. What is all of the controversy about. None of his appointees can take office until President Trump does. Our President doesn't become The President until he is sworn in.

Many are dancing an Irish jig – even non-Irishmen whom one would not expect to know such dances – over the prospect of Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy heading up a new “Grace Commission 2.0” of sorts, cheerfully nicknamed a Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. They intend an 18-month project, hopefully to conclude by our nation’s 250th anniversary, in which they will apply standard American manufacturing cost-cutting techniques such as LEAN and Six Sigma tools, to find out how much fat is in every federal department, bureau and agency, and cut it out as fast as possible.

Back in July, it was George Clooney who was instrumental in having President Joe Biden ousted from the race, weeks after hosting a fundraiser for his reelection campaign in Los Angeles. As we know, Biden was replaced by Vice President Kamala Harris, who still lost to President-elect Donald Trump. Sarah covered at the time last week how many were actually thanking Clooney for getting Trump elected. Now, the Hollywood actor says he's taking a step back from politics. Something seemed up when, last week, Clooney was all too happy to discuss People's "Sexiest Man Alive," with no mention of politics. He won the award twice, in 1997 and 2006.

On these pages and elsewhere, writers have offered compelling evidence of another shooter and possible U.S. intelligence community involvement in JFK’s assassination, while other writers have rejected this narrative because too many people would have had to know and someone in the know would have spilled the beans. I don’t know enough to comment on the former, but I do have thoughts on the latter. There are at least five reasons why no one might spill the beans:

The biggest blunder in the history of American politics was the premeditated, unabashed, and overt theft of the 2020 presidential election by the Democrat Party, the legacy media, and their fellow left-wing elitists in the Ruling Class as that alliance failed to create an unquestioned landslide defeat of Donald Trump and were thus, forced into the impossible task of placating the extreme left-wing faction of the coalition. This blunder set the stage for the 2024 Trump landslide and hastened the demise of the Democrat Party and the legacy media. This cabal further compounded the original blunder of overtly stealing the 2020 election

Since the election, we’ve witnessed countless videos of average leftists shrieking and crying because their preferred candidate lost. At the upper echelons of the leftist class, multimillionaire talking heads accuse voters (including blacks and Hispanics) of being racist and misogynistic haters. Whoopi Goldberg, one of the solons on The View, called America’s grocers “pigs.” Joe Scarborough had no idea how much butter cost—or at least the cost of the butter on which the elites dine. Kamalish (kah-MOLL-ish) verb, to politically self-destruct from within. Rhymes with demolish. Earliest use, c. 2024. Democrats didn’t just lose an election, they lost a political party, the world’s oldest. Founded in 1828, Democrats will sow chaos no more. The Civil War’s perpetrators have finally come undone. Two factors will contribute to the party’s rapid disappearance on the national level. Without control of the presidency and Congress, many Democrats will retire when their terms end, a process already underway. Once in the minority, their ability to demand kickbacks vanishes.

“Victory has a thousand fathers, but defeat is an orphan," said President Kennedy following the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Obviously, JFK didn't know his own party. Democrats don't bother with mundane means of execution like circular firing squads. Following a defeat that the entire party believed couldn't happen, Democrats created a mass extinction event — a dinosaur-killing asteroid — that hit prominent party luminaries from every direction all at once. There's already blood on the floor, and there won't be much left to "autopsy" if any Democrats actually wanted to examine the reasons why they lost.
