Donald Trump served up a “Turkey” roast to Eric Adams at the Al Smith Dinner — and the mayor is gobbling it up.
The former president peppered the star-studded crowd at Thursday’s swanky white-tie event with jokes and gripes, including a zinger aimed at both Adams’ plant-based diet and alleged taste for Turkish graft.
“I’ve never met a person who’s a vegan who liked Turkey so much,” Trump said about Adams, who was seated nearby. (Photo) Adams laughed off the burn when asked about it Friday, describing it as par the course for the annual Catholic fundraiser, where muckety-mucks yuck it up at each others’ expense.

Former President Donald Trump campaigned in Michigan on Friday with the Arab American mayor who previously endorsed him.
Trump visited the city of Hamtramck, and was seen campaigning with Hamtramck Mayor Ameer Ghalib during a press conference. Ghalib noted that the Democrat Party was trying to “scare” legal second and third-generation immigrants in the Arab American and Muslim-American community that Trump was coming to “deport them.” “They say every week — they have a different concept for me, ‘I’m going to be the biggest dictator in the world. I’m going to destroy the world,'” Trump said.

It shouldn't be considered incredibly brave for Vice President Kamala Harris to consent to an interview with Bret Baier on Fox News. J.D. Vance has been doing hostile Sunday shows for months while Harris resorted to the basement strategy. Then, once Team Kamala booked a "media blitz," they bizarrely went on offense. Mediaite posted this headline: "Kamala Harris Hammers Trump Avoiding Debate and Tough Interviews: He'd 'Rather Cocoon Himself in Safe Spaces' of Conservative Media." This was after she appeared in a cavalcade of cocoon interviews with Howard Stern, Stephen Colbert and the unanimous Democrats on "The View."

Kamala Harris is continuing to underperform across the polling spectrum.
Pick any average from the multitude of polling views — two-way, multicandidate, battleground states, and even individual battleground states — and Harris is running consistently below where Joe Biden was in 2020 and Hillary Clinton in 2016. So it’s no surprise Democrats are growing nervous.
There’s a reason the Harris campaign is suddenly making her available for softball media opportunities, such as her recent appearances on CBS’s “60 Minutes” and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” as well as ABC’s “The View,” and even for riskier ones like her Wednesday appearance on Fox News.

Harris trashed Trump as she spoke to union members in Lansing, Michigan after going on an unhinged rant in Grand Rapids on Friday.

Experts largely agree that Pennsylvania is the most important state in this election. The candidate who wins Pennsylvania is highly favored to win the entire election. This year, a key Senate race is also happening in the state, as Sen. Bob Casey Jr. (D-Pa.) fights what is likely his toughest election yet. Polls have shown a tight race, and Donald Trump’s recent momentum could shift some races in favor of down-ballot Republicans as well.
That’s why Casey’s latest ad caught my attention.
The ad features a couple, Marygrace and Joe, from Old Forge, Pa.
"I'm a Republican," says Marygrace in the ad.
"And I'm a Democrat," says Joe.

On July 26, in the aftermath of the Democratic Party's ruthless midsummer coup of their own democratically elected presidential nominee, this column predicted that the elevation of dimwitted cackler-in-chief Kamala Harris to the party's presidential slot would "spectacularly backfire." More specifically, I wrote: "Practically, the path to winning 270 Electoral College votes still runs through the Rust Belt states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Al Smith, the beloved four-term governor of New York, was the first Catholic to appear on a major party ballot for president.
The 1928 presidential campaign was marred by the Herbert Hoover organization unleashing a wave of anti-Catholic bigotry, aided by the Klu Klux Klan and other nativist groups, that accused Smith of being an agent of the papacy and hence the devil himself. Protestant preachers railed against him from the pulpit. Even mainstream protestant churches warned against Smith's "dual loyalties."
The Smith campaign was such a disaster that neither major party would put up a Catholic candidate for thirty years, when Democrats nominated John F. Kennedy.

You’ve probably noticed that Kamala Harris has abandoned her original campaign strategy of “joy” and “vibes” and replaced it with fear, anger, and attacks on Trump. She’s been attacking Trump forever, but there’s something markedly different about her tone in the past few days.
Obviously, a big part of the reason is that her efforts to sell her agenda to the public aren’t working. But it goes deeper than that. At the core of this strategy shift is the undeniable reality that Trump is more popular today than he ever has been before, and she’s trying to do something about that.

No, it’s not “the economy, stupid,” in spite of the schizophrenic stock market since our remarkably resilient capitalistic economy ran head-on into the socialist-cum-communist Biden-Harris regime, with its $1.8-trillion deficit.
And no, it’s not domestic policy, where we have had the luxury of being on the receiving end of these:
High taxes.
High food prices.
High gas prices.
Sky-high regulations.
Alarmingly high crime rates throughout the country, particularly in states run by Democrats, where arrests are few, bail is nonexistent, and raging criminals enjoy no consequences for their assaults, rapes, murders, racist attacks, etc.

Go to Kamala Harris’ campaign website and among the very short list of alleged achievements is this: “She cast the deciding vote to lower drug prices and cap insulin prices for our seniors.”
The only problem is that drug costs for seniors have skyrocketed since Harris signed that bill.
Harris is pointing to the criminally misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act,” which got zero Republican votes, and which was supposed to lower the cost of prescription drugs by giving, as Harris puts it, “Medicare the power to negotiate lower drug prices with Big Pharma.”

Western powers, often suppliers of advanced weaponry to Israel, are pushing the Jewish state to stop fighting Hamas and Hezbollah. Why?
You would probably laugh. Orthodox Jews do not use electronic or electrical devices during the Sabbath and holidays. Smartphones, computers, and the like are generally turned off with the entry of a holy day and only turned back on when the day goes out the following night. So what happens when Israel assassinates Hassan Nasrallah or kills Yahya Sinwar on one of these days? Orthodox Jews are still curious people, even if their internet-connected devices are off.

A small Pennsylvania town has been thrown into a national conversation about immigration into the U.S, after former President Trump pointed to it as a victim of mass Haitian migration --with some residents saying they believe the town is now backing the former president in November. "The small 4,000-person town of Charleroi, Pennsylvania, have you heard of it?" Trump said in September in Tucson, Arizona. "What a beautiful name, but it's not so beautiful now. It has experienced a 2,000% increase in the population of Haitian migrants under Kamala Harris."

SpaceX has filed a lawsuit against a California agency this week after the body rejected a proposal to increase the company’s launches from the state’s coastline to 50 per year.
The California Coastal Commission (CCC) made its decision at an October 10 meeting, despite the U.S. Air Force (USAF) endorsing the plan on the grounds that more launches of Starlink and Starshield, the defense-focused unit, are critical to national security.
In the lawsuit, SpaceX says that the commission engaged in “naked political discrimination” when some commissioners cited the political activity of CEO Elon Musk, while also attempting to unlawfully regulate federal agency activities.

For over a decade now, the issue of trangenderism has gained increasing prominence in American politics, which is natural when personal choices begin to intersect with public policy, and for Kamala Harris it has risen above the surface at the worst possible time. There have always been policy concerns around the idea that men can simply decide they are women. There were questions about women’s shelters and prisons, locker rooms and bathrooms, but nothing puts quite as fine a point on the issue as men competing in women’s sports. For his part, Donald Trump has a clear and concise answer to the troubling phenomenon

We now have two polls that show the Trump-Vance ticket topping the Harris-Walz ticket in favorability and caring.
Rasmussen Reports surveyed 1,683 likely voters between October 14-16 and asked a straightforward question: “Which candidate for president cares the most about people like you?” Sitting Vice President Kamala Harris earned just 45 percent of the vote. Former President Trump topped her with 49 percent.
On this question, Trump won the male vote by a 12 percent margin, 53 to 41 percent. Harris topped Trump by five points with women but still hit a ceiling at 50 percent to Trump’s 45 percent.
Among black voters, Trump earned an incredible (for a Republican)

Four mysterious accounts have reportedly bet $30 million on Trump to win the presidency in November.
Bettors on Polymarket, a crypto-based prediction market, have increased their wagers that the Republican nominee would win the election in recent weeks.
While National polling averages by FiveThirtyEight show Harris with a 2.5-point lead over Trump, on Friday, Trump had 60 per cent betting odds on Polymarket compared to Harris’ 39 per cent. The online market showed odds for the political opponents as neck-and-neck until October 7, when the former president started making significant gains.
The flood of support for Trump, the Wall Street Journal first reported, could be attributed to four Polymarket accounts

Vice President Kamala Harris dumped her so-called “campaign of joy” messaging for a more angry, bitter, and nasty tone with less than three weeks until Election Day.
Polling shows Harris lost momentum in the past weeks while using the “campaign of joy.” Her new strategy appears to be the use of President Joe Biden’s 2020 and Hillary Clinton’s 2016 playbook that demonizes former President Donald Trump as unhinged, unstable, and unchecked.
Politico Playbook reported the shift on Friday:
You can see the change on the campaign trail, where Harris’ early emphasis on joy has given way to more direct verbal attacks on Trump, including playing video of him,

A majority of Americans (52 percent) feel worse off today than four years ago under former President Donald Trump, Gallup polling found Friday.
Four years ago the nation was in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, which greatly impacted the economy and the lives of millions of Americans. Despite the crises, Americans believe they were better off.
Costs increased by about 20 percent across the board after the Biden-Harris administration assumed office and instituted “Bidenomics.”

If anyone needs proof that the Kamala Harris campaign has cracked its axle gear at high speed and is spinning off into wild and crazy directions, take a look at Kamala Harris's campaign's own bizarre response to President Trump's appearance at the Al Smith dinner to raise money for Catholic Charities: It's as if Harris were describing herself. Everyone knows she can't talk without a teleprompter and memorized lines, and that she word-salads her speech. Her minion described a combination of Harris and Joe Biden in all their personal failures, and then weirdly called it 'Trump.'
Her allies at the Washington Post responded in similar fashion: Here is the Trump

America’s enemies aren’t afraid of ethical scolding from Democrats, and U.S. allies don’t view it as especially helpful. In a Gallup poll released this September, voters in the United States revealed they trust Republicans as the “party better able to keep America safe from international threats” by a margin of 54 percent to 40 percent. In today’s hard-fought U.S. political system, a fourteen-point edge for one party over the other is something close to a landslide. Yet, most academics believe that the superiority of the Democratic Party’s foreign policy approach is self-evident. So, who’s right—the voters or the academics? Let’s consider the evidence of the last eight years.

Gaffigan did not waste the opportunity to mock her avoidance of real public engagement while prioritizing softball media appearances.

Former Hamas head Yahya Sinwar could be seen throwing a stick at the IDF drone that targeted him on Thursday moments before his assassination, Israel's military showed in released footage.
In the footage, a masked Sinwar is circled in red with the stick that he threw at the drone. Sinwar can then be seen throwing the stick in the direction of the drone as he sits on a couch surrounded by the rubble of the building he was located within. IDF Spokesperson R.-Adm. Daniel Hagari released the footage late on Thursday night during his statement confirming Sinwar's death, where he described the events leading up to the assassination.

No one was safe from former President Donald Trump’s zingers Thursday night at the Al Smith Dinner — as he panned Vice President Kamala Harris for skipping the event, roasted New York City Mayor Eric Adams and dragged top Democrats in the rowdy audience.
Trump, 78, blasted Harris for being the first presidential candidate to decline the invitation to the Manhattan event, which raises funds for Catholic charities supporting children, since former Vice President Walter Mondale in 1984.
“I guess you should have told her the funds were going to bail out the looters and rioters in Minneapolis and she would have been here guaranteed,” Trump needled.

Republicans should keep the champagne on ice until the election results are official and act like we’re trailing due to the institutional goliaths we’re facing this election cycle—but one thing cannot be denied: we’re in good shape to win the election. It’s not over, but Joe Biden had a seven-point advantage over Trump in 2024. There’s no pandemic. And Kamala Harris is irritating everyone. Even the most ardent Trump-hater cannot deny that the former president is polling better than ever. While it’s a tight race, Trump has reclaimed the advantage in Nate Silver’s Electoral College projection:

As Election Day approaches, Democrats are struggling to find positions on issues that resonate with voters. On most topics important to the electorate—such as the border crisis and immigration, the economy and inflation, and crime and public safety—Republicans hold a significant lead. However, one issue where the left has an advantage is abortion, prompting them to heavily lean on this topic to drive their voters to the polls. This focus has led to a narrative surrounding abortion that is both shocking and deeply troubling.

One year ago, on the last day of the celebratory Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles), the unthinkable happened, and a living hell was unleashed on the people of Israel. That was October 7, 2023, a day that will live on infamy in the decades to come, a day that has still not ended for the hostages and the families of the victims. One year later, on the first day of Sukkot, Yahyah Sinwar, the mastermind of the massacre, was dead.
To add to the poetic justice of the moment, Sinwar, who had eluded the best efforts of combined Israeli and American intelligence for more than one full year, was “accidentally” killed

Readers of I&I know all about how the Biden-Harris regime has been fudging jobs numbers to make monthly gains look bigger than they really are. Turns out, it’s been doing the same with crime statistics … this time to make it look like violent crime is on the way down.
RealClearInvestigations dug into the FBI’s data and found that the law enforcement agency had been criminally misreporting crime statistics in a way that just happened to help Biden-Harris look like it’s been tough on crime.
Last fall, for example, the FBI reported that violent crime had dropped by 2.1% in 2022.

At some point, the hippies in the '60s learned that if they took a bath and put on nicer looking clothes, then people would think their insane ramblings actually had some intellectual weight to them. Remember when British comedian Ricky Gervais absolutely destroyed the Hollywood elite at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards? It was a beautiful moment worth revisiting—multiple times. Gervais eviscerated Tinseltown progressives for being so stunningly out of touch with the struggles of real people, and it is a thrill to watch even after all these years. He laid into the vapid nature of all too many “celebrities": On Thursday night, however, it was time for the annual Al Smith charity dinner in New York City, where dignitaries from the entertainment, politics, and business worlds all showed up to raise money for Catholic charities.

It is frankly bizarre for Democrats to swap out the man who talks ceaselessly about his hardscrabble Scranton upbringing for a Californian who boasts the most left-wing voting record of any presidential nominee in modern history."
I'm feeling pretty good these days about that prognosis.

Sometimes “What if?” questions are merely counterfactual academic exercises. Sometimes, however, they are existential conundrums. The question, “What if Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential election?” belongs firmly in the latter category. As I have noted elsewhere, I believe Donald Trump will not only win, but win resoundingly. All the same, the huge influx of illegal immigrants, strategically managed by Biden and Harris to be maximally advantageous, combined with the disastrous state of our voter rolls, might mean even if Trump wins, he doesn’t end up in the Oval Office. So: what if?

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) quietly revised its crime data for 2022, less than three weeks until the Nov. 5 election and conveniently after presidential and vice presidential debates.
Vice President Kamala Harris must be breathing a sigh of relief knowing that the FBI waited until the last possible moment to correct the nation’s 2023 violent crime data report. It initially reported that the rate fell by 2.1% in 2022 but has since been updated to show it actually increased by 4.5%, proving Republicans’ claims that violent crime is plaguing the nation.
