Fox News announced on Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris has agreed to be interviewed by the network’s chief political anchor, Bret Baier. The interview will air Wednesday evening in the battleground state of Pennsylvania. The announcement comes as Harris visits Erie on Monday, a hotly contested county that could decide the all-important battleground state’s fate come November. The event marks the first time the current Democratic frontrunner has ever participated in a sit-down interview with the network. “Special Report with Bret Baier…is home to the largest and most politically diverse audience in cable news, averaging 2.3 million viewers…with more Democrats and Independents tuning in to Baier

Let's not forget who Brett Baier is. Mr. Baier gleefully at 10pm NY time or there about, on election night 2020 said Trump LOST Arizona. He and that blonde, whose name I can't remember, were downright happy that Trump was now losing. And it was FOX that said it. So, there was added gravitas to that report. And that's exactly what's going to happen with the Kamala interview. I believe, Baier and his producers have let Kamala know, yeah we are gonna have to make it look like we are tough on you, but here are the questions and/or the policy issues we will be asking you. Wink, wink. Now of course, no one would ever believe that FOX would set it up for Kamala. No one, that is, but we former FOX viewers who understand exactly what is going on. It will be reported that Kamala has entered the belly of the beast, FOX news, is being challenged like never before and SHAZAAM comes out looking brilliant and presidential. Right people? She's smart. She's capable. She is definitely a Commander-in-Chief. The October surprise! Baier and FOX, we got your number. I will never, EVER, forget watching him on election night 2020. Never.

The Harris campaign is imploding. This is a last ditch effort to show the voters that she is not a babbling idiot. I suspect that Baier will ask her some tough questions and actually do some follow ups after her word salad, as he doesn't want to be seen as a political activist.

OK, I'll be the contrarian here. Until I stopped watching TV news altogether years ago, Baier's hour was a nightly ritual. I thought he did a good job covering the stories the other anchors buried. Since then, from what I've read and clips I've seen, he still goes where his competitors don't--though maybe not as much as our side would like. Arizona? Bad move. Rush to be first or something more nefarious? I find it hard to attribute it to the latter. I think Baier values his reputation as balanced and was stung by the criticism. I never had the impression he was taking sides, that he hated Trump and was shaping the news to diminish DJT. Did he report on stuff detrimental to the man? Of course. Does that make him a RINO or worse? I don't think so. Some of the comments here about Baier seem over the top to me. I have a relative who teaches political science at a university. At the end of every semester, students seek him out to ask whether he's left or right. They ask because during the semester he'll take the other side of any opinion the students offer. He doesn't believe it's his job to steer them one way or the other; he wants them to come to their own conclusions. He is not an advocate. I see Baier in the same light.

I appreciate your comments #16 but I don't think Bret Baier has been as neutral as described. I am also very concerned that Kamala Harris is going to receive softball treatment. The vitriol that has been aimed at Donald Trump is much worse than what I remember of any candidate and that includes Sarah Palin. That alone was despicable. The mainstream media has double standards and I don't see Bret Baier being any different. After all, how is it that Jill Stein can question the election in 2016 where three states had to do recounts and J6 is considered an insurrection? I question Bret Baier's actions in the 2020 election. So now I am to trust this interview with Kamala Harris will be fair and balanced? I am not where you are #16.

By the way, I am where #9 is. Just look at the title of this article listed below this one: "Biden-Harris Admin Paves Way For Bureaucrats To Take Gender-Confused Kids From ‘Non-Affirming’ Parents." Not only do I want Bret Baier to talk about the plagiarism but how about the story coming to light, if true, about Tim Walz grooming a couple of students. I have to tell you everything Donald Trump did or does is put through a microscope. Russian collusion, impeachments, trials, etc. One of the civil trials is about a woman who claims Donald Trump raped her in 1996 or whenever. He was never afforded a criminal trial and wa-la, the statute of limitations in New York doesn't apply any more. I just purchased a book by Lyza Terkeurst titled "I Want To Trust You But I Don't" and that is where I am at with Bret Baier and Fox News. Basically speaking that is where I am with most of mainstream media.

Some posters here have reminded us of what Baier and his co-host did in 2020. No need to further rehash that. I would like to remind everyone, however, that Fox News lost its editorial compass when it fired Roger Ailes (regardless of Ailes' other issues) and with Rupert Murdoch now in complete dotage mode, Murdoch's sons with woke, hen-pecking wives are now at the reins. Let's recall that in 2020, one of those wives gleefully tweeted about Fox having assisted in Trump's defeat. The same Murdoch sons are the ones negotiating terms and conditions with the Harris campaign. So anyone who thinks this interview will not be staged should have a cranial examination...

So, lefty Baier will feed her some real hard ball questions such as what she eats, how long she sleeps etc. Trust me, he had to hand over the questions he will ask. She was interviewed by some sports people, and they stated that they had to hand over the questions beforehand and they were mush. Lefty Baier is as bad as Hume who claimed bidet's last shouted state of the union speech was the best he had ever heard. Right. So let me understand. Some posters distrust Baier because of the Arizona call and refuse to watch his newscast. Fair enough. If you tune into the hour on a regular basis and believe Baier tilts left, that is a supportable position. But if you rely for your opinion of Baier solely on what others say and what you've believed for years, that is not a supportable position. I appreciate # 16's comment suggesting it's OK to have a different opinion on such a matter. No vituperation, no name calling. I have been a card-carrying conservative since Goldwater. I find it offensive when someone suggests that because I don't fall in line with the prevailing view, I'm a RINO or worse. Intolerance on the left, I expect. On the right, depressing.

Al Smith, the beloved four-term governor of New York, was the first Catholic to appear on a major party ballot for president. The 1928 presidential campaign was marred by the Herbert Hoover organization unleashing a wave of anti-Catholic bigotry, aided by the Klu Klux Klan and other nativist groups, that accused Smith of being an agent of the papacy and hence the devil himself. Protestant preachers railed against him from the pulpit. Even mainstream protestant churches warned against Smith's "dual loyalties." The Smith campaign was such a disaster that neither major party would put up a Catholic candidate for thirty years, when Democrats nominated John F. Kennedy.

You’ve probably noticed that Kamala Harris has abandoned her original campaign strategy of “joy” and “vibes” and replaced it with fear, anger, and attacks on Trump. She’s been attacking Trump forever, but there’s something markedly different about her tone in the past few days. Obviously, a big part of the reason is that her efforts to sell her agenda to the public aren’t working. But it goes deeper than that. At the core of this strategy shift is the undeniable reality that Trump is more popular today than he ever has been before, and she’s trying to do something about that. As CNN’s Harry Enten

No, it’s not “the economy, stupid,” in spite of the schizophrenic stock market since our remarkably resilient capitalistic economy ran head-on into the socialist-cum-communist Biden-Harris regime, with its $1.8-trillion deficit. And no, it’s not domestic policy, where we have had the luxury of being on the receiving end of these: High taxes. High food prices. High gas prices. Sky-high regulations. Alarmingly high crime rates throughout the country, particularly in states run by Democrats, where arrests are few, bail is nonexistent, and raging criminals enjoy no consequences for their assaults, rapes, murders, racist attacks, etc.

Former President Bill Clinton busted out a bizarre and confusing impression of Donald Trump Thursday, during which he suggested that the GOP nominee might send him to “supermax” prison for life. Clinton, 78, made no real attempt at capturing Trump’s distinctive voice or mannerisms when he spoke as the 45th president during a North Carolina rally with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz – with the intention of conveying that he might be considered by Trump to be “the danger within.” “When you sign up, the oath says you promise to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic,” Clinton told the crowd

Sometimes “What if?” questions are merely counterfactual academic exercises. Sometimes, however, they are existential conundrums. The question, “What if Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential election?” belongs firmly in the latter category. As I have noted elsewhere, I believe Donald Trump will not only win, but win resoundingly. All the same, the huge influx of illegal immigrants, strategically managed by Biden and Harris to be maximally advantageous, combined with the disastrous state of our voter rolls, might mean even if Trump wins, he doesn’t end up in the Oval Office. So: what if? Imagine you are a mini-Rip Van Winkle. You sink into a deep slumber

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) quietly revised its crime data for 2022, less than three weeks until the Nov. 5 election and conveniently after presidential and vice presidential debates. Vice President Kamala Harris must be breathing a sigh of relief knowing that the FBI waited until the last possible moment to correct the nation’s 2023 violent crime data report. It initially reported that the rate fell by 2.1% in 2022 but has since been updated to show it actually increased by 4.5%, proving Republicans’ claims that violent crime is plaguing the nation.

If anyone needs proof that the Kamala Harris campaign has cracked its axle gear at high speed and is spinning off into wild and crazy directions, take a look at Kamala Harris's campaign's own bizarre response to President Trump's appearance at the Al Smith dinner to raise money for Catholic Charities: It's as if Harris were describing herself. Everyone knows she can't talk without a teleprompter and memorized lines, and that she word-salads her speech. Her minion described a combination of Harris and Joe Biden in all their personal failures, and then weirdly called it 'Trump.' Her allies at the Washington Post responded in similar fashion: Here is the Trump

Readers of I&I know all about how the Biden-Harris regime has been fudging jobs numbers to make monthly gains look bigger than they really are. Turns out, it’s been doing the same with crime statistics … this time to make it look like violent crime is on the way down. RealClearInvestigations dug into the FBI’s data and found that the law enforcement agency had been criminally misreporting crime statistics in a way that just happened to help Biden-Harris look like it’s been tough on crime. Last fall, for example, the FBI reported that violent crime had dropped by 2.1% in 2022.
