Hurricane Milton ripped the roof off Tropicana Field which was transformed into a camp for thousands of first responders as the Category 3 storm ripped through Florida Wednesday night.
The destruction of the Tampa Bay Rays ballpark in St. Petersburg could be seen from the outside and all that remained were the stadium’s lights cables, bars and catwalks with roof fabric dangling from above.
The storm had initially torn open a significant hole above the third base dugout before every other section around the domed roof fell apart, leaving roofing material covering various portions of the infield and stadium seating, according to social media video from inside the stadium.

"[Hamas leader Yahya] Sinwar wants everyone to be a martyr—except for him." Now he appears to want to have discussions again on the condition that the Israelis will not try to kill him during the negotiations on a deal. — David Greenfield, CEO and executive director of Met Council, August 28, 2024.
When Israelis clamor for the release of their hostages, they are, unfortunately, just letting Hamas know what a valuable bargaining chip it has – so the price goes up. For Hamas, if the families of the hostages succeed in getting Netanyahu pushed out of office, so much the better:

If ever there was an ironclad example of the failures of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices in Kamala Harris’ America, the devastating government response to Hurricane Helene should leave no doubt. And it’s about to grow ever more apparent.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) focus has shifted towards emphasizing DEI over immediate disaster response efficiency under the Harris-Biden administration.
Hurricane Helene victims are suffering because of it. Hurricane Milton victims are about to as well.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a whole has endured stunning ineptitude through the DEI-fueled hiring of Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Furious Joe Biden regrets choosing Attorney General Merrick Garland to lead the Justice Department after the agency prosecuted his son Hunter, a new book by Bob Woodward claims.
The allegation is just one of a number of bombshell insights into the Biden White House in “War,” out October 15. The book reveals a president desperately trying to stave off war in the Middle East, fearful of Russia unleashing nuclear warfare, and worn down by his wayward son.
Biden also lashes out about everyone from Garland to Vladimir Putin, Benjamin Netnyahu and even Barack Obama — who Biden blames for not stopping Putin’s 2014 invasion of Crimea,

At the Economic Club of Pittsburgh, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris recently said she would “engage in what Franklin Roosevelt called ‘bold, persistent experimentation,’” as he had told the 1932 graduating class at Oglethorpe University. But she did not mention FDR’s vision of “remaking the world,” which included fundamentally changing “our popular economic thought” to see to “a wiser, more equitable distribution of the national income.”
Instead, she said she would seek “practical solutions” and even declared, “I am a capitalist.” She said she’s “been working with entrepreneurs and business owners” for her “whole career.” (No one has yet even been able to verify Harris’ job at McDonald’s.)

After the news Tuesday, the disastrous George Gascón experiment in Los Angeles is almost certainly coming to an end on November 5.
A shocking poll showing a 30-point lead for challenger Nathan Hochman came out Tuesday morning, and a debate between the candidates Tuesday evening showed an incumbent playing defense. Rampant burglaries, repeat offending murderers, reconsidering a lighter sentence for the Menendez brothers – none of the topics discussed were good for an elected District Attorney who has presided over a tumultuous period at the largest local prosecutor agency in the country.

Vice President Kamala Harris got grilled in a tense “60 Minutes” interview Monday night for alienating “millions and millions” of US voters by calling former President Donald Trump a “racist.”
CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker took Harris to task for portraying Trump as “racist and divisive.” “You have accused Donald Trump of using racist tropes when it comes to Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, when it comes to birtherism, when it comes to Charlottesville. In fact, you have called him a racist and divisive,” Whitaker said.
“Yet Donald Trump has the support of millions and millions of Americans. How do you explain that?”

There's a reason that they haven't been putting Kamala Harris out there to do interviews. But I think they're so desperate to move the numbers that they've had to put her and Trim Walz out there. But as we've seen in her 60 minutes in the clips we've seen already, it didn't go well. The first clips they released were about Israel and the Gaza war. Kamala gave a ridiculous word salad answer and she also managed to throw Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu under the bus. She wouldn't even say that Bibi or the state of Israel was an ally.

Kamala Harris’ interview on CBS News was a total disaster. That’s an evergreen statement, but you knew it would end poorly. Folks, her spot on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the most effortless media hit of all time, was a tangled mess. Now, sitting across from Bill Whitaker, the seasoned journalist asked run-of-the-mill questions, and this woman imploded (again). It’s not like Democrats didn’t know this about Kamala, who has been a five-alarm fire every time she tried to do a solo interview before Joe Biden’s mind melted on national television last June.

On the heels of fresh polling showing Donald Trump pulling ahead of Kamala Harris in key Pennsylvania counties, new voter data information released shows that the number of voters registering as Republican surged in September. The numbers are impressive, with the GOP gaining nearly twice as many new voters as the Democrats. This is obviously good news for Trump, who is coming off his triumphant return to Butler, PA, and for Senate hopeful Dave McCormick, who is closing the gap in his race to defeat Democrat incumbent Bob Casey. Data geeks can find the county-by-county breakdown of voter registration numbers here.

Iran, both alone and through its proxies, has attacked Israel -- a country smaller than New Jersey – for the past year, non-stop, on seven fronts:
