The U.S. Navy commissioned a new submarine on Saturday, the first vessel in its fleet designed to fully integrate male and female sailors. (snip) The USS New Jersey was designed for two genders from the outset with accommodations like increased privacy in washrooms and sleeping areas, Vice Admiral Robert Gaucher, commander of Submarine Forces Atlantic, told NorthJersey.com. Access to top bunks and overhead valves were also designed with the height, reach and strength of women in mind. The nuclear-powered submarine was unofficially nicknamed "Jersey Girl," and its interior spaces decorated with posters and memorabilia representing the state, including a guitar signed by Jon Bon Jovi, the news outlet reported.

Every square inch wasted on 'gender equity' comes out of the hide of mission effectiveness, safety and efficiency.

A poster of Bon Jovi will make a submarine more lethal…right.

"The USS New Jersey was designed for two genders..."
Only two? What about the other 237 (with more to come) genders? More importantly, what flags will it fly? Are there tampon dispensers in the torpedo room? Hey, these are important questions!

This is a terrible mistake. There's an extremely high rate of pregnancies among women who serve on submarines. From what I've read, many of these women purposely get pregnant so they can receive a discharge from the military. Women do not belong on submarines.

What about the rest of the genders, where do they go to pee?

Although the relatively-spacious SSBN's and SSGN's have been open to women for several years, I read that the SSN's were (and would always be) off limits because the passageways are so narrow that the only way for larger crewmembers to pass is croth-to-crotch. Perhaps some submariners here can clarify. The 796 doesn't have wider passageways than the rest of the class, so the line about top bunks and overhead valves is a bunch of nonsense. A lot of money and effort spent to level the playing field just so that the women can compete with their male counterparts for promotion and command.

Can't wait for the ship built for 56 genders. Good grief! these people are destroying US and spending trillions doing it.

My inconvenient question is this: How many of the Jersey Girls will emerge from the first cruise pregnant?

Many years ago my husband took me on a visit to a submarine (he was an officer at the time), and upon descending the ladder I heard from below “Woman on board!” I thought it was charming..🙂

If the Navy built boat for two genders, then the official gov't policy on gender identity must be for only two. If the Gov't's policy is that there are more than two genders, then the Navy just violated the policy.

Being aboard one of the earliest surface ships to have women (circa 1979), I can tell you this is a grave mistake.
It is the worst of distractions when it comes to mission. Moreover, as it was in my case, the workload increases for males (there are some things women just can't do...just not built for it).
People do not understand that subs...the secret service, are our "ace in the hole." It, therefore, should NOT be a part of the WOKE agenda that has destroyed the rest of the Navy!
What ever happened to real leasers...the likes of Gen. George Washington, Gen. Stonewall Jackson and Gen. George Patton? Now those were leaders. The Woke leaders of today's military are the real existential threats to our republic!

So a submarine where all the women are on the same cycle, that's not a recipe for disaster.
