As RedState reported earlier, the clips from CNN of Vice President Kamala Harris giving her first formal sit-down interview since Joe Biden's forced withdrawal from the presidential race in July are starting to drop - and are raising eyebrows along the way.
In the first one, the Democratic presidential nominee received a predictable softball question from CNN anchor Dana Bash about the dramatic change in her policy positions (read: flip-flops) from when she first ran for president in 2019 to the present day.
Harris answered, in part, that "I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is, my values have not changed."

Did you hear that scream? Liberals far and wide are no doubt freaking out right now because the election they thought they had in the bag after the Democratic Party crowned Kamala Harris as its nominee, which sent a jolt of enthusiasm in their party, is now slipping away.
Kamala's honeymoon bounce is now on a downward trajectory, and a slew of battleground state polling is looking really good for Donald Trump. But perhaps even more devastating for the Democrats is that Nate Silver's famous election projection model has Trump ahead for the first time in weeks. That is a nearly ten-point swing in Trump's favor in the projection model

Well, so much for substance!
First off, we have to ask whether this is rumor or fact. Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller alleged on Twitter an hour ago or so that the vaunted Kamala Harris-Tim Walz media launch will only last less than a typical sitcom episode, sans commercials. Miller also claims to be "hearing" that CNN won't release a full transcript of the Dana Bash interview either.
That would be ... strange: Supposedly, the interview was supposed to run for an hour. With two interview subjects taking their first (supposedly) adversarial questions since getting appointed to the ticket, especially on a ticket that has yet to publish its policy agenda,

Vice President Kamala Harris holds a slim lead over former President Donald Trump after an expected polling bump following last week’s Democratic National Convention, according to a survey released Thursday.
The Wall Street Journal’s latest national poll showed Harris leading Trump by 1 percentage point.
The Democratic nominee pulled 48% support in a head-to-head matchup compared to the Republican nominee’s 47% backing.
When third-party candidates were included in the survey, Harris’ advantage grew to 2 points, 47% to 45%. Both results were within the poll’s 2.5 percentage point margin for error. The survey’s findings suggest that Trump, 78, would likely emerge victorious in the Electoral College race,

Former President Donald Trump has the edge over Vice President Kamala Harris in a close race for the White House, according to a pair of polls published Thursday.
Harris has a more challenging road to the White House than Trump when considering the polls–one from Emerson College/Nexstar Media and another from Fabrizio Ward & Associates– and deeper themes stirring both nationally and in the individual states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. For instance, one essential theme to consider is Trump regularly outperforms the polls: In the post-Democratic National Convention (DNC) August 25-28 Emerson College poll, Trump has a 50 percent to 47 percent lead

Could you imagine the hysterical pearl-clutching if Republicans had made the same comment about a female Democrat? The media would’ve spent the next two weeks “covering” and “investigating” the GOP’s systemic misogyny, wondering aloud when those Republican chauvinists were planning to handcuff barefoot women to the kitchen stove or force them to breed babies in their latest “Handmaid’s Tale” fantasy. But since it was Obama, the media yawned and moved on: It’s just an expression, folks!

In one of the most disgusting press stories I've been privy to, The New York Times published a piece essentially trashing the Gold Star families who invited Donald Trump to Arlington National Cemetery on Monday.
As RedState reported, the president appeared at a ceremony honoring the 13 murdered American service members who died during the Abbey Gate Bombing. The devastating event unfolded in August of 2021 amid the Biden-Harris administration's incompetent withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris neither showed up for the ceremony nor gave live statements commemorating the third anniversary of the deaths. Instead, the president vacationed on the beach while Harris continued campaigning.

Ford Motor
is the latest company to walk back some of its commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
The automaker has taken “a fresh look” at its DEI policies and practices over the past year to take in to account the evolving “external and legal environment related to political and social issues,” according to an internal communication that was shared with global Ford employees and posted Wednesday on X by an anti-DEI activist. Ford confirmed the letter was authentic and said it had no additional comment on the matter.

Don't look now, but the New York Times sounds worried, too. Thus far, Democrats have a lot more billionaire money to fund their operations and those of their assorted super-PACs. Arabella in particular leverages massive contributions from the ultra-wealthy Left to fund all sorts of progressive storefronts, as Scott Walter explained almost exactly four months ago in a podcast interview.
Now that the world's wealthiest magnate may join the other side, though, suddenly it's time for Panic in the Demsco:
Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, has hired a Republican operative with expertise in field organizing to help steer his political work, a move that suggests that Mr. Musk

Pro-Palestinian students have assumed control of student government at the University of Michigan with the return to fall classes, suspending funding for student groups until the administration agrees to divest from, and boycott, Israel.
The New York Times reported Tuesday:
At the University of Michigan, many student activities are usually funded or subsidized by the Central Student Government, known as C.S.G., an elected undergraduate and graduate council that decides how to dole out roughly $1.3 million annually to about 400 groups.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is speaking out after the Biden-Harris administration slapped a sixth round of sanctions on Israelis on Wednesday, as part of an effort to appease anti-Israel critics on the political left.
“Israel views with utmost severity the imposition of sanctions on citizens of Israel. The issue is in a pointed discussion with the US,” Netanyahu said in a statement circulated by the Government Press Office.
The sanctions apply to an organization called Hashomer Yosh, which the Times of Israel describes as a group that “arranges for volunteers to provide help and support for at least 26 illegal farming outposts in the West Bank, among other activities.”

Two foreign nationals have been charged in a swatting conspiracy against dozens of individuals, including senior U.S. government officials.
Thomasz Szabo of Romania and Nemanja Radovanovic of Serbia were each charged with one count of conspiracy, 29 counts of threats and false information about explosives and four counts of transmitting threats in interstate and foreign commerce, according to the press release from the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, D.C. The indictment alleged that Szabo, 26, and Radovanovic, 21, were involved in a swatting conspiracy that began in December 2020 and continued through January 2024.
