Oregonians have reacted angrily to a taxpayer-funded scheme that doles out $30,000 for non-legal migrants to buy homes, but excludes US citizens.
Hacienda Community Development Corporation, a Latino-led group in Portland, says in a promotion that it will give first-time home buyers up to $30,000 to get on the property ladder.
But there's a catch, the advert adds.
The scheme is 'only for people who are not American citizens.'
It is instead open to refugees, asylum seekers, Green Card holders, and those who arrived in the US illegally as children, the post says.

I was sipping a Manhattan, reading about the last latest attempt to assassinate Trump, when it occurred to me that someone, somewhere in the United States Secret Service (USSS), sucks at their job more than I thought.
Check out the musings of the most recent animal who considered putting a .44 bullet into 45: [snip]
And the one man in charge of the border and Trump's security is Alejandro Mayorkas. Mayorkas' Department of Homeland Security (DHS) just happens to be responsible for both the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) and the Secret Service. Weird, right?

The third-rate vaudeville being mounted in Chicago this week is irrelevant to anything that matters - except for the bleak fact that half the American people are minded to go along with it, which helps explains why meaningful course-correction is all but impossible. This grim vignette, however, struck me as almost poignant: [snip for Tweet] Almost two decades ago, I began my demographic bestseller America Alone with a famous assertion by the historian Arnold Toynbee: Civilisations die from suicide, not murder.

Harley-Davidson’s European CEO has backed down on his vanity project to rebrand the company’s motorbikes as his vehicle for globalized “diversity.”
The retreat from forced “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (DEI), is a third win for for Robby Starbuck, an X-amplified advocate for merit, productivity, and professionalism.
“Another win for our movement,” Starbuck tweeted Tuesday after the company announced it would roll back its mandatory diversity policies. “I couldn’t do this without all of you,” he added. Those imposed policies included top-level support for divisive employee identity groups,

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) told the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois, on Monday night that Republicans could try to “kill” Sen. JD Vance.
Raskin was referring to the hostility expressed by a small group of rioters on January 6, 2021, who brought a mock guillotine to the Capitol and were said to be searching for Vice President Mike Pence to punish him for not rejecting the congressional certification of the Electoral College vote.
The speech was bitter, and vindictive — as much of Raskin’s rhetoric has been about Trump, even before he took office.

CHICAGO, Illinois — Vice President Kamala Harris has hired disgraced “Russia collusion” hoaxer Marc Elias to help lead her massive team of election lawyers as they prepare to fight former President Donald Trump and the Republicans over voting results.
Elias will join a team of lawyers that is reportedly ten times larger than the team of 600 lawyers that then-candidate Joe Biden boasted he had hired in the summer of 2020 to challenge election results in close contests nationwide. The New York Times reported Elias’s new role in the Kamala Harris campaign on the opening day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

People protesting the Democratic National Convention (DNC) were seen marching through the streets of Chicago dressed as abortion pills.
Video footage posted on X showed protesters dressed in white outfits, appearing to look like abortion pills with the words “MIFE” and “MISO” written on them.
“MIFE” stands for mifepristone, which is “the first of two medications used in a medication abortion.”
“MISO” stands for misoprostol and is the “second medication” in a medical abortion, according to Planned Parenthood’s website.

An 11-year-old migrant boy was arrested as the main “aggressor” in a group that allegedly pummelled a straphanger and stole his phone in a violent subway robbery, the NYPD and police sources said Wednesday.
The baby-faced perp and a 17-year-old boy were both taken into custody after they allegedly attacked the victim onboard a Manhattan-bound 7 train at about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday near the Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue stop in Queens, law enforcement sources said.
“He just kinda grabbed it and from there, they passed it around,” the 24-year-old victim told The Post by phone on Wednesday.
“When I fought back to try to get my phone, they attacked. They jumped me,”
