A massive new statue has been unveiled in the United States, with the gargantuan construct not honoring a famous American or historical figure but rather a polytheistic group’s god with the head of a monkey.
The “Statue of Union” was inaugurated Aug. 18 at the Sri Ashtalakshmi Hindu Temple in Sugar Land, Texas.
It depicts the Hindu god Lord Hanuman, one of the religion’s countless deities. Hanuman, a god of strength, devotion and selfless service, is most often depicted with the head and tail of a monkey.
The monument stands exactly 89.7 feet tall, making it the third-tallest statue in the United States, according to the “Statue of Union” website.

I am so glad I am moving away from Fort Bend County soon. It's not the sweet quiet rural county I grew up in anymore.

Exodus 20:
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Those who read the article will find that this sect also brands women and children like cattle... That cannot be legal.

“The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
The work of men’s hands.
They have mouths, but they do not speak;
Eyes they have, but they do not see;
They have ears, but they do not hear;
Nor is there any breath in their mouths.
Those who make them are like them;
So is everyone who trusts in them.”

Just spread the rumor that Lord Hanuman used to own slaves.
Antifa and BLM will have the statue down in 24 hours.

Coincidentally the same height as Nebuchadnezzer's statue in Daniel 3. I wouldn't be at all surprised if at some point a supernatural event of some kind occurs to take down this monstrosity. God Will Not Be Mocked.

Looks like target practice for the Texas National Guard. That EVIL cannot be allowed to exist in our nation. These are not the "religions" our Founding Fathers were referencing when the Constitution was written... and neither was Islam.

Putting theological/philosophical considerations aside, just consider this historical perspective:
1. America is a Christian nation, has been since its founding, and Christianity is the reason the nation is the beacon of life and liberty to the entire world that it has become (re: millions of immigrants doing everything they can to get here, and the prosperity of the common American)
2. Discarding Christianity, and mocking the God of Christians, to replace it (and Him) with a religion that has imposed such unimaginable misery on its adherents (re: caste system, or just ask an Indian female) will not end well for Americans.

I am a Hindu. And yes, idol worship is an integral part of the Hindu religion (which really is not a religion in the Abrahamic sense). But it is part of a seamless dual system of relating to Divine by both spiritual and material symbolic means. But I would say his is carrying it too far. Even if it was done India. I wouldn't wany it in my backyard.

Ditto to 19. For Ldotters, I find this fear based judgemental behavior ironic. This group exhibits the same behavior against Vivek Ramaswamy because of his skin color and belief system. If we bothered to look beyond the superficial, you might actually see the common elements of Hinduism and Christianity, despite the outward differences
1. Hinduism has only one formless god
2. Since God is everywhere, one has the liberty to worship through the form. You worship the IDEAL through the IDOL
3. The Hindu prayer is May all live healthy and happy everywhere
4. One can actually criticize Hinduism and not be beheaded, Hinduism actually welcomes critical thinking
5. The monkey god is a symbol of humility and servant leadership attitude, working for the benefit of all at the behest of the Lord
Personally, I don’t know that a massive statue is needed, but it isn’t a symbol of hatred or trying to convert people. When is the last time you met a Hindu proselytizer?
We need to ask deeper questions before slinging mud

Romans 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

I really don't care about this statue...if it was meant to demoralize me...they failed....and I'm sure soros had a hand in this attempt to upset Americans...let it gather dirt and moss and be forgotten in a few weeks...our job is to stay focused on the 2024 election and putting President Trump back in the White House and away from the biden/harris/obama/pelosi regime....

Pardon the second post. But to #24's point. If I show you your parent's photograph and ask you to spit on it. Would you? It is after all just paper and ink. Hindus are taught to innately differentiate between the material and the spiritual ('saguna' and 'nirguna' in Sanskrit) a yet understand that both are manifestations of the same Divine entity, that they don't (usually) make the mistake made in Romans 21-23..

I really, really hate being the skunk at the picnic --- but this is no one's business but the people who own the statue!
As long as:
1) it is on private land ... not public ... and
2) has no subsidy or payment of any kind from tax dollars ... and
3) violates no local, state or Federal zoning code or land use laws... and
4) does not cast a shadow or block the view of anyone or affect the use of other private/public land or housing ... and finally
5) does not interfere with low flying planes ... then
it is not my concern. I do agree it is a bit ugly but to each his own. Heck the Native Americans are carving a huge statue to Crazy Horse up in South Dakota so lighten up.
Worry about the monkey in the White House people!

An Investigation of Hindu Scripture
https://apologeticspress.org/an-investigation-of-hindu-scripture-1410/
This is a very long and informative read with a long list of references. I know that some don’t have the time or inclination to read it. So, I included the concluding paragraph as an example of the vast and important differences between the Bible and ANY other basis for the soul’s salvation.
“The Bible is the authentic, authoritative, and final revelation of the true God. Though written over a period of 1,400 years by forty very diverse men on two continents, The Book is completely unified and free from error. A single theme is expanded upon throughout—the redemption of man through the Messiah. The Bible was confirmed by predictive prophecies and the miracles of the inspired men who wrote it. The moral laws contained within are more reasonable and consistent than that of any other religious or naturalistic system. By contrast, the Hindu scriptures have no final, objective authority; according to one Hindu, “all scriptural knowledge is lower knowledge” (Jayrama, 2000). Subjective religious experiences are generally preferable to written texts. Hindu scripture contains little that is noble, just, pure, lovely, virtuous, or praiseworthy. Allegedly a progressive revelation, Hindu scripture contradicts itself both within particular texts and as a body of literature. The Bible, also a progressive revelation, never corrects itself, but only compliments and fulfils that which has been written. Different Hindu scriptures present completely different paths to salvation (liberation)—karma-yoga (the path of action), jāña-yoga (path of knowledge), and bhakti-yoga (path of devotion). The Vedas contain no predictive prophecy and offer no miracles to confirm the revelation supposedly sent from God. Thus the Hindus have no accessible ground of truth, no normative written word, and no objective moral or religious instruction.”

Who vetted these people and allowed them to erect a Statue in the first place? Did they have a permit? Are they American citizens? Sounds like trouble. Who knows what else they do behind closed doors.

“There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” ~ Hamlet Act 1 Scene 5
years ago, i was strolling with some neighbours from Latin America. women in saris rushed up to speak to them,
believing them to be from India. everybody spoke English; all was resolved. and all the ladies were glamourous.
personally, i could never be mistaken as being from India. however, many people from India swore i was
connected to several of their gods. [had to look them up in books: hannuman, ganesh, durga].
insisting i was Catholic didn't deter them...'yes... you are...for now'...reincarnation... gets you every time.
good neighbours are good enough.
