The Myriad Projections of the 2024 Campaign

Original Article

Projection is a Freudian psychological term. It describes a particular defensive mechanism, when people, often unconsciously, attribute their own (usually undesirable) behaviors to others who do not have them. These mental gymnastics are intended to alleviate one’s own guilt or sense of inadequacy at the expense of another. Sound familiar? But in the political sphere, projection involves more overt dissimulation. It is increasingly common for leftist candidates or political parties to falsely accuse their opponents of the very destructive behaviors and unpopular agendas that they themselves embrace, but out of political necessity must deny.

DNC trots out Obama, Clinton to gaslight

The Democratic Party reminds me of that scene in "The Wizard of Oz" when Dorothy and her friends finally reach the Emerald City only to see that "the great and powerful Oz" is actually just an old man behind a curtain, pretending to be an omniscient being. "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain," Oz yells frantically, to no avail. As the Democratic National Convention convenes Monday, voters should do one thing: Ignore the powerful messaging and look at what's behind it all. The DNC organizers will do everything they can to put on a good show. But it's a facade. The Democratic Party is hawking terrible policies

President Biden engaged in "impeachable conduct," House Republicans found in their months-long impeachment inquiry, declaring in their highly anticipated report that he "abused his office" and "defrauded the United States to enrich his family." Fox News Digital obtained a copy of the 292-page report prepared by the House Oversight Committee, House Judiciary Committee and House Ways and Means Committee. Those panels have been leading the impeachment inquiry against Biden. "The Committees have accumulated evidence demonstrating that President Biden has engaged in impeachable conduct," the report, which lays out evidence gathered to date, says.

The already-long 2024 presidential campaign has become the strangest in modern history. Here are 10 unanswered questions that illustrate how and why we've entered this bizarro world: 1. How can Kamala Harris merely promise us fixes to come in 2025 for inflation and an open border when she is still vice president for another six months? Why can't she enact her proposed solutions to these problems (which she helped create) right now? 2. Would the media prefer to help her win but lose further credibility themselves by failing to ask why she has disowned her last three decades of leftist agendas, or to reclaim some of their reputations and thereby risk her losing?
Scott Jennings: Harris Is Lying, There

CNN's Scott Jennings objects to Kamala Harris blaming high prices for things like groceries on "price gauging": SCOTT JENNINGS, CNN: The other thing that I picked up on today was this whole notion that price gouging or gauging as she called it is what people are feeling. That is a total canard. This is not true. This is made up because they're trying to deflect attention from the actual inflation that has caused everything in your life to get more expensive. So they need the American people to believe something other than the truth, there is no price gouging. Grocery stores, these things, they operate on very slim profit margins.

CNN commentator Scott Jennings said Friday that Vice President Harris' price control proposal will cause mass food shortages. "If you like bread lines, product shortages, black markets, hoarding, if you want to recreate the happy economic conditions of ‘The Walking Dead,’" Jennings said on Friday, "then Harris has a plan for you." The Harris campaign announced on Wednesday that she would institute a "federal ban on price gouging on food and groceries" as president in an attempt to stop "big corporations" from taking advantage of consumers. On Friday, Harris spoke in Raleigh, North Carolina about her economic vision for the country.

I grew up among people who worshipped the key pillars of the twentieth century Democratic Party: the New Deal, Franklin Roosevelt, and the great public works project known as New York City. The Democrats then were the party of progress—of new roads, bridges, ports, factories, and laboratories. They were also the party of national defense, a holdover from the triumph of World War II that was sustained by a fear of Communist aggression. But the Democratic Party’s recent evolution contrasts sharply to its glory days. Today, the Democrats are losing out among some of the party’s core constituencies, notably those who work with their hands

Vice President Kamala Harris conceded Americans are struggling in the current economy and vowed to improve things after President Biden boasted his policies were "working" just a day earlier. Harris made the remarks during a campaign stop in North Carolina, where she unveiled part of her economic platform for the 2024 election. "We've made historic investments in infrastructure, in [semiconductor chips], manufacturing, in clean energy. And new numbers this week alone show that inflation is down under 3%. And as president of the United States, it will be my intention to build on the foundation of this progress," Harris said.

Personal finance expert Dave Ramsey joined "The Ingraham Angle" to explain why VP Kamala Harris' economic plan will not work. Ramsey reacted to the Democratic presidential nominee's proposal to implement federal price controls in order to stop "price gouging" on groceries. DAVE RAMSEY: It's not sustainable because it's artificial. If you just put a lid on something and if you want to explore what really happens, just go back to the 1970s. We tried it. There was a whole movement for price controls across everything, because inflation was out of control and rampant, just like it is now.

“Price gouging” is the focus of Vice President Kamala Harris’s economic agenda, her presidential campaign says. She’ll crack down on “excessive prices” and “excessive corporate profits,” particularly for groceries. So what level counts as “excessive,” you might ask? TBD, but Harris will ban it. That’s the thing about price gouging: As has been said of hardcore pornography, you know it when you see it. It’s not hard to figure out where this proposal came from. Voters want to blame someone for high grocery bills , and the presidential candidates have apparently decided the choices are either the Biden administration or corporate greed. Harris has chosen the latter.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made her entrance on the stage of the Democrat National Convention in Chicago to Sara Bareilles' song, "Brave," followed by a standing ovation and a ton of applause. Next to AOC's speech, this was the most energy exhibited at what has been a fairly lackluster Night 1 of the DNC. Clinton noted the rise in energy. Wow. There's a lot of energy in this room, just like there is across the country! Something, something is happening in America! You can feel it. Something we've worked for and dreamed of for a long time. First, though, let's salute President Biden.

Blinken was in Israel on Monday to discuss what he called the “last opportunity” for an end to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) ongoing self-defense operations in Gaza, Hamas’s stronghold territory used to launch the unprecedented October 7 attack on the Israeli homeland. This comes after Walz claimed multiple times that he owes his two children to IVF. According to The New York Times, “many have assumed” that Walz and his wife, Gwen, relied on IVF to conceive. This includes several prominent news outlets that reported that the couple used IVF. In April, the Tim Walz for Governor campaign office mailed out a fundraising letter in an envelope that said, “My wife and I used IVF to start a family,” the Times pointed out.

Joe Biden was, on some level, wrapping up his political career during his DNC speech on Monday night. He had expected to give the keynote address on Thursday. That was before the coup, when he was shoved aside and replaced by Kamala Harris as the nominee. So, you can imagine he's not a happy camper when it comes to that. It was perhaps appropriate that the day was a mess with protesters breaching the security fence, attacking the police, and getting arrested. Then, Biden made weird comments about former President Donald Trump, claiming his "stability" was still a question. Um, Joe? It isn't Trump whose stability is in question

Joe Biden is easily the worst human being to hold the office of President of the United States of America. The send-off his own party gave him, as ignominious as it was, was still not nearly as ignominious as he deserved. First, Biden was forced out of his reelection campaign, months after he'd "won" the nomination in a rigged primary, by a cabal of insiders including his old boss, Barack Obama. You know, the man who reminded fellow Democrats to "never underestimate Joe's ability to f*** things up." Then his farewell address — angry and disassociated — was bumped out of primetime by an assortment of has-been and never-will-be speakers.
