Raffensperger blasts proposed rule requiring
hand count of ballots at Georgia polling places

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia’s secretary of state on Thursday came out against election rule changes pending before the State Election Board, specifically rejecting a proposal to count ballots by hand at polling places on election night. At a meeting in July, the board advanced a proposal that would require three separate poll workers to count ballots at voting precincts on election night to make sure they match the number of ballots recorded by voting machines. That proposal has been posted for public comment and the board is set to vote Monday whether to adopt it.

Comments:

Problem is some of the poll workers can't count.

At one time everyone voted on election day, the votes were hand tallied and we knew the winners that night. now voting goes on for weeks, machines count the votes and it may take days to get the results progressive progress?

That will address the problem of fake votes being injected into the machines, but it wont address the machines flipping the votes. Better to do away with the machines completely and hand count everything. At the very least machines should have no provision for connecting to the internet either through bluetooth or hard wire, and no memory cards or thumb drives. I also agree with death penalty for cheating.

I believe that the machines will still be counting the votes. This proposal is only to hand count the number of ballots to be sure they match the numbers that the machines show. Only someone who wants to cheat by running ballots through the machines multiple times would be against this.

If I lived in a state where the voters' votes didn't count in the 2020 election because it was stolen, I'd insist on doing something to ensure accuracy in the count. If I were governor and all. Raffle must be afraid of strangers showing up in the middle of the night. Sellout trash!

Dang, DVC! Get well SOON! I would insist on a hand-count verification of how many votes for each candidate, with a one person from each candidate (One 'D' and one 'R' at each counting station) doing the counting..... and doing it on live and recorded Video, in Full, Close View of the Public! No more putting covers over the windows, no more 'ballot dumps' in the wee hours, no more hidden stacks of 'pristine, never folded' absentee ballots (in places where the ballot has to be folded to put it into the envelope.) No more 'memory thumb drives' with thousands of votes, that are easily 'lost' or altered. No more voting machines accessible via the Internet. Make EVERYTHING VISIBLE to EVERYONE!

Cobb County, GA has every voter fill out a paper voter certificate before electronically signing in. Both the paper certificates and the poll pad (electronic sign in device) numbers are checked hourly against the numbers on the ballot box. At poll closing they are checked again and signed off on by three witnesses, and a copy is posted on the door to the polling place before everything is packed up and returned (with witnesses) to the Board of Elections Office for the official count. If every county followed this procedure, which tracks and verifies numbers three ways at regular intervals across the day, this new proposal would be unnecessary.

According to AAA, Americans on Saturday were paying on average $3.177 a gallon for gasoline. Californians were paying $4.676 per gallon on average. The gap can vary. Is Bibi Netanyahu making decisions regarding Israel's response to Iran's recent missile attacks in an effort to interfere in the US presidential election? That seems to be Joe BIden's read on the situation, at least based on comments he made this week in the White House press briefing room. Biden clearly appeared to be implying that Netanyahu is less interested in negotiating any sort of peace deal because of the pressure he's under to deliver a strong message to Iran. A peace deal would potentially undermine that message, possibly opening the door to additional aggression by Iran. Why Biden would weigh in on this discussion in such a fashion remains
