Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has agreed to a four-year deal that makes him the highest-paid kicker in the NFL, according to reports. Butker announced the extension on X but provided no details. Unidentified sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport the contract is worth $25.6 million, including more than $17 million in guaranteed money. “There’s no place I’d rather be than with the Chiefs, excited to finalize a 4 year extension. To the Heights!” the three-time Super Bowl champion posted on X. The 29-year-old represented himself in negotiations, according to Schefter and Rapoport.

Comments:

Reminder: Last May, "Butker made controversial comments during a commencement speech at Benedictine College, a small Catholic school in Atchison, Kansas. He decried Pride Month as a 'deadly sin' and suggested that women find more fulfillment through getting married and having children than by pursuing careers."

Thanks for reminding me about Butker's speech, Sterling. The KC Chiefs just told you what they and their fans think of Butker. The whiners will whine while Butker will does his job and heads to the bank.

I think Harrison Butker is a fine young man who's morals don't clash with an oversize ego so common with professional athletes today. He's humble, good at what he does, and he loves Jesus. If the world were more like Harrison Butker....would we be spiritually back around 100 years?

Pride Month celebrates, among other decadent behaviors, homosexuality, which is a sin. As the Catholic Church says, "love the sinner, condemn the sin." I also have no issue with him expressing his opinion about women finding homemaking and raising children more fulfilling than having careers. It is a free country, after all. And, JD Vance had a similar comment about frustrated childless cat ladies. I think most of those women chose career over children, it's now too late for them to have children, and they don't want to admit they made the wrong choice. It's no accident the Hallmark Channel has made book by making movies about career women accidentally falling in love after a cute meet. That happened to my late wife and me. (The Covid shot killed her Jan of 2023).

Being an NFL kicker is a dream job. You are in the game for only a handful of plays, you rarely get hit, and no one gets too upset with you if you miss an impossibly long kick. All for big bucks.

Stress on the body caused by racism may cut African American women’s lives short, according to a recent study by neuroscientists at Harvard and Emory universities. Their research, published in the journal JAMA Network Open in June, found a connection between “higher self-reported racial discrimination” and “DNA methylation age acceleration” among black women. “Racism steals time from people’s lives – possibly because of the space it occupies in the mind,” lead researchers Negar Fani and Nathaniel Harnett wrote in an article this week at The Conversation. Fani is a professor at Emory and Harnett at Harvard, both in the areas of psychiatry and neuroscience.

This week, a large Zoom event called ‘Blacks Against Harris’ took place and was attended by thousands of people, but the media ignored it. Apparently, ‘White Dudes for Harris’ and ‘White Women for Harris’ are fine, but ‘Blacks Against Harris’ is unacceptable. Why do you suppose that is? If Democrats and their media allies want to live in this divisive world of identity politics, they should not be allowed to pick and choose which groups deserve attention and praise. Twitter/X user Dom Lucre posted the following on his feed: Blacks Against Harris Zoom call was successful with over 72,000 attendees in total.

Harris was at the time the attorney general of California and served as the top advocate for allowing Garcia to become a licensed attorney — opening the door for thousands of illegal aliens across the state to become licensed attorneys.

President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Joe Biden will attempt to reclaim the Democratic nomination after it was “stolen” by Kamala Harris. This comment comes in light of recent announcements confirming Harris’s position as the Democrat presidential nominee, following a controversial series of events leading to Biden’s abrupt withdrawal from the 2024 race. Last week, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison announced that Harris has amassed enough delegates to secure her place at the top of the ticket, with final results expected to be confirmed on Monday. Despite never winning a primary election, Harris has now found herself positioned as the official Democrat nominee.

As recently as last week, Kamala Harris appeared to be on the cusp of picking Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-Pa.) as her running mate. Despite the progressive backlash against him and a slew of scandalous leaks, he was the runaway frontrunner in the betting odds as conventional wisdom held that Kamala needed a "moderate" swing state Democrat to help expand her path to 270 Electoral College votes. Shapiro's chances remained high even after he faced serious allegations by a fellow Democrat of covering up harassment in his office. The sexual harassment cover-up didn't take Shapiro out of contention, and neither did another cover-up — this one involving murder.
