I’m just catching up on some events that I have missed. The first press conference by the U.S. Secret Service about the Trump assassination attempt was alarming. This is the first time the media had to question USSS since the attempted assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Fox News host Jesse Watters does a good job summarizing the event and encapsulating the largest takeaways from the briefing. *Why* do they want us to know/think this was an inside job? It seems like there has to be more to it than just lording it over us or simple distraction. I don’t understand where they are going with this.

What a mess has this created, along with peak entertainment value, but is it good? Despite the humor that’s deeply embedded in them, I still feel that deep personal attacks on Kamala Harris do nothing but animate the liberal base. A federal complaint unsealed on Tuesday in Brooklyn has charged Asif Merchant, also known as “Asif Raza Merchant,” a 46-year-old Pakistani national, with murder-for-hire in connection with a foiled assassination plot targeting a politician or U.S. government officials on American soil.
The plot was thwarted by law enforcement before any attack could be executed. Merchant is currently in federal custody in New York, according to the press release.
