Sometimes, technology doesn’t fulfill its promise. But, other times, it isn’t the tech that let’s you down, it’s the people using it. So one electric vehicle charging company company is experimenting with cutting off people who linger, attempting to “fill ‘er up.” (Snip) It took us four hours to get home that night. We were sitting in line for electric vehicle chargers. Blame ill-mannered charger hogs who don’t respect EV etiquette. It’s like waiting for your table in a restaurant while watching people casually chat over empty plates and half-empty wine glasses. What’s wrong? EV fast chargers – the big

Another case of blame the victim by the leftist media. EVs would be great if it wasn't for the EV drivers who are virtually all entitled liberals.

ICE vehicles became dominant for several reasons. One is the ability to get a full tank in fifteen minutes then you are on your way. At my advanced age, I have no desire to suffer the additional hassle involved with an ev.

Gas stations require no "etiquette"--just Visa or cash.

All these "green initiatives" do is raise our costs and pit us against one another. The battery tech isn't mature, the electric grid required for a mass switch to EV's is nowhere near sufficient, and the rare-earth materials needed are coming from China (because the Biden Admin stopped mining for them here). The Dems really just want to destroy the middle class, isn't it blindingly obvious by now?

Simple solution is rent the charger, that is charge say $10 per hour to use said charger plus the normal charge. Make the 1st 15 mins free for the quick charge people.

Gee-Wiz, you mean you can't fill up a tank of electricity in five minutes like you can with gas or diesel? EV users, you are f####d.

There is a reason electric vehicles bombed out in the early years.

FTA
-“For the time being, let’s just hope that EV drivers who don’t really need to fill all the way up will learn to be more considerate.“
How about EV drivers start being a little more considerate.
By paying road tax with each fill up, as all the rest of us do.

Let's see. Most EV buyers are prancing, self-important liberals who want to virtue signal their greatness. Expecting a narcissist to consider someone else? How gauche!

When you give people "free" charging, expect them to take all the "free" charging they can get.
I'm still waiting for places where I can fill up my car with gas for free.

Create a product, create a problem like “charger hog.” I just have now been made aware by this article! Liberals tend to be obnoxiously rude by nature.

I know someone who recently rented an EV (not by choice) for a getaway to a small-town B&B. As there was no quick charger available, he needed to be plugged in for 10 hours for the trip back home. Drove the car to the charging station the evening before, got a lift ($) back to where he was staying, and another lift (more $) back to pick up his rental the next morning before driving back to pick up the family and returning home.

I guess the mindset is I drive an electric vehicle so I'm privileged. I'm special. Welcome to entitled vehicle ownership. I've got mine. Screw everyone else.

Author does not understand appropriate use of an EV.
They are great for short and mid range drives, not long trips. That's what an ICE is for.
3, yes, gas stations do have etiquette: always pull forward and leave when you're done filling, done sit there on a phone call or doing your make up when your tank is full. Sound familiar?

My friend solved that problem...he has a 220 Volt Generator with a charging cord attached. It runs on that Horrible Dangerous Stuff called Gasoline. He has a 5 gal backup and keeps both in the trunk. He told me it will give his Tesla a full charge in about 4 hours, and a quick 30% charge in 20 minutes. I have a Hybrid and all that is included in the car itself...the engine is a generator and the drive is from electric motors. I like it because I average over 48 mpg!

We drove from Texas to Colorado and back for vacation this year. When our gas got below 1/4 of a tank, we would stop at the next station along the highway, fill up our 20-gallon tank, use the bathroom, and be back on the road in about 5 or 6 minutes.
EV's were never about "saving the planet". They were always about government control. Period. Thank God my husband and I are in our 60's and will probably be gone before the government can force us to own an EV.

So 'EV etiquette' is driving off with your battery no where near fully charged. The driver may need a full charge depending on the where he is going.
