Russia has been in the news a lot in recent years, and for good reason. With the war in Ukraine and America’s heightening military tensions with Russia, not to mention Russia’s history with America extending back to the Cold War era, Americans have generally had uneasy feelings about Russia for at least a century. Modern anxieties concerning Russia aside, there is an old area of concern that was largely cast aside after the early 90’s that I think is important to examine, namely communism. It’s not that Russia is explicitly looking to overtake America with communism in our day, though some have made that case.

Democrats love to brag about how they are defenders of “democracy.”
Which is odd, because 2024 will be the first presidential contest in modern history featuring a nominee who wasn’t chosen by voters.
Kamala Harris did not get a single vote in the primaries. And the same cabal that propped up Joe Biden, that hid his ailments, that put the nation in a perilous position, that used him to push hard-left policies, that bypassed the electorate, now promises that Harris is the very best person for the job.
Why would anyone believe them?
Al Sharpton contends that Kamala’s candidacy is a “grassroots” movement. Which is laughable. She has never displayed impressive political instincts.

Kamala Harris told migrants “do not come” to the US, but at least 8 million came anyway.
In perhaps her most famous speech as vice president, which she made in June 2021 after she was given responsibility for securing the US border, Harris tried to convince migrants to stop flooding into the US in the wake of President Biden’s 2020 election victory.
“I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border, do not come. Do not come,” she said.

Harris insiders say she is more likely to engage in public criticism of the Israeli prime minister than Joe Biden and to focus attention on the civilian toll in GazaOne of the key intrigues hanging over Benjamin Netanyahu’s contentious visit to Washington this week is what kind of reception he will receive from the White House, and how he will be received by Joe Biden and his vice-president – and the likely Democratic party nominee – Kamala Harris. For much of Monday, no meetings between Netanyahu and either Biden or Harris had been confirmed,

President Biden will be back at the White House on Tuesday for the first time since he announced he was abandoning his re-election campaign and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.
Biden is scheduled to leave his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware — where he had been recovering from COVID-19 — in the afternoon and arrive at the Executive Mansion by 2:30 p.m., according to his schedule.
The 81-year-old president was originally expected to leave the beach town, where he had been under quarantine, on Monday to hit the campaign trail, but he extended his stay after announcing that he was dropping out of the 2024 presidential race the day before.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) greeted the news of the historic shakeup at the top of the Democratic ticket with threats to increase his state’s operations at the Mexican border.
“Joe Biden has now endorsed and fully supports his ‘Borders Czar’ Kamala Harris to be the Democrat candidate for president,” Abbott wrote on the social platform X.“I think I will need to triple the border wall, razor wire barriers and National Guard on the border.”
Abbott was one of a long list of Trump allies to unload on Harris after Biden’s withdrawal from the race on Sunday, as The Hill reported.

What do coconut trees have to do with Vice President Harris?
The tropical fruit-bearing plant has quickly become an informal symbol of support for her presidential campaign, thanks to an anecdote about her mother that she told more than a year ago. President Biden made the history-making decision Sunday to drop his reelection bid and endorsed Harris to take his place against former President Trump on the November ballot.
Harris, who sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, has four weeks to shore up her base to secure the party’s nomination during its convention in Chicago in August and fewer than four months to make her case to American voters.

Child predators follow a common playbook: target the victim, gain their trust, fill a need, and, crucially, isolate the child from her parents. For several years, this has also been standard California state protocol with regard to schoolchildren questioning their gender identities. On Monday, this scheme became law.
The “SAFETY Act,” AB 1955, signed by California Democratic governor Gavin Newsom, legally forbids schools from adopting any policy that would force them to disclose “any information related to a pupil’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression to any other person without the pupil’s consent.”

Adidas has pulled images of the model Bella Hadid from adverts promoting a sports shoe first launched to coincide with the 1972 Munich Olympic Games.
The German-based sportswear company said it was “revising” its campaign after criticism from Israel over Hadid’s involvement.
The SL72 trainers, described by Adidas as a timeless classic, were promoted by Hadid, an American whose family has its roots in Palestine. The model, who previously drew the ire of the Israeli government for allegedly chanting the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, has been accused of antisemitism.

Rep. Mike Walt (R-FL) took no prisoners going on CNN to shred the network’s notoriously unreliable and shoddy fact-checker Daniel Dale, who said the Republican congressman’s electric tank remarks were “pure fiction” at the Republican National Convention, which wrapped on Thursday Rep. Waltz went back on CNN, brought the facts, and embarrassed the network’s fact-checking department for being nothing more than Democratic Party operatives. The Florida Republican said that there was no way Dale could have analyzed the U.S. Army’s budget in the timeframe, which ended with him smearing the congressman as a liar. Waltz rightly shredded Dale for misleading the public

Well after 50 years from the end of the Civil War, black Americans in much of the country were not allowed to enter the homes of whites by the front door. Black men could be lynched for looking a white woman in the face. Schools, restaurants and even drinking fountains were all segregated.Today, no such legal discrepancies exist. Yes, fringe actors still show that vestiges of racism remain and maybe always will. Yet even though Americans of all races mingle peaceably, the income gap between white and black Americans stubbornly persists. Racism itself can no longer provide a satisfactory answer.

President Biden is digging in his heels and vowing to get “back on the campaign trail next week” despite mounting calls from Democrats to stand down — even reportedly lashing out at his party’s leaders and accusing them of helping Donald Trump get elected in 2016 when they cast him aside to boost Hillary Clinton.
Former President Barack Obama, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and New York Sen. Chuck Schumer are just three of the powerful Dems who have apparently counseled Biden, 81, to throw in the towel.
