Joe Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday afternoon. Everyone saw his post on X. In a follow-up message on X, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidential nomination, and Democrat leaders began lining up (with the notable exception of Barack Obama) to endorse her. The controversy over Biden’s dementia and ability to perform the duties of president appears to be over, although the nagging and quite large issue remains of whether he is able to perform the duties of president for the next seven months. And yet almost immediately, questions about the way Biden withdrew began to swirl,

Biden is hiding from everyone in Rehoboth. It's cloudy with a little rain there today, so he's not on the beach. He could be hiding from Dr. Jill right now. He should head to the Bottle and Cork in Dewey and tie one on.

Now that there’s no reason to prop him up because the jig is up, all attention will be on trying to install that total idiot Harris into the presidency! Regardless of where he's at right now, he is too incapacitated to sign loan documents much less anything related to the government of the United States of America. Any Executive Orders or any legislation he "signs" should be questioned and challenged to see if it's legally binding. Even his announcement was an auto-signature.

This is my question, too, #8. The question should be a drumbeat. Why aren't Dems asking it? Why does Joe's Dr. Demented (not referring to Dr. Jill) announce his covid patient is doing better. It was a bad cold, at worst. They said he had "general malaise." Okay. an elderly man's general malaise could be worse than a younger person's general malaise. I've had general malaise, but I've never been eighty years old. They sent out the first prognosis that it was a mild covid. And then... then... the daily paxlovid shots commenced... Here we have a coup, maybe a soft coup, but PROVE IT AIN'T SO, JOE! I have a theory (based in part on what happened to old Vlad Lenin), involving a different Joe, who decades later had a wee problem with his doctors, too. It's a tangled scenario. I almost daren't articulate it. How do we know Joe actually signed the so-called abdication letter? Oh the ignominy. And while we're asking questions, where is Dr. Jill? Why doesn't she appear and bring calm to the doubting and querulous public?

For several years at least, the resident has looking and sounding like death, seeming to decline further every time he appears in public. Never much of a man to begin with, even in '73 when he entered the Senate, now he's a withered, desiccated husk with an indeterminably short future, perhaps months, perhaps weeks. Is he still breathing? Might he still predecease Carter, in hospice and pushing 100? All the excitement of recent days could not have done this demented, angry man any good. He's like a punchdrunk, rubber-kneed boxer needing not another punch on the chin but a stiff breeze to send him down for the count. Is he America's Yuri Andropov aka Comrade 'Dropoff? Soon after Joe Biden dropped out of the race, he endorsed Kamala Harris as his successor, and within a day and a half, she reportedly had secured support from enough delegates to win the nomination at the Democrats' upcoming convention. I'm not sure if that really means anything anymore, since Joe Biden had earned the necessary delegates democratically through the primary election process, and he's no longer in the race. Call me crazy, but I won't believe Harris will be the nominee until she formally accepts the nomination. Why? Because there are whispers that Democrats aren't exactly jazzed about her being the nominee, either,

Kamala Harris is descended from an owner of 120-plus slaves who ran a Jamaican plantation and fought against the abolition of the abhorrent trade, a British historian claimed today. The Democrat would-be President is of Indian and Afro-Jamaican descent with her late mother, Shyamala Gopalan, born in Madras, now Chennai, while her father, Donald Harris, is from Jamaica. The Vice-President's father, a Stanford University academic who is 85, was born in Brown's Town on the Caribbean island – named after Hamilton Brown, who is believed to be Kamala's slave-owning great-great-great-great grandfather. In the hours since Joe Biden conceded defeat in the 2024 election to Donald Trump, there have been a lot of weird things happening. For starters, Kamala Harris is now working to secure support for her presidential bid. Some Democrats, like the Clintons, have endorsed her. Others, like the Obamas, have instead expressed support for some kind of process to select a new ticket. Manchin 2024? Perhaps the weirdest thing is that Sen. Joe Biden’s decision on Sunday to bow out of the presidential race clears the path for the country to elect its first woman and first woman of color as president. Even though the electoral fundamentals for this year’s election have always favored the Democrats – despite what numerous misleading polls have been showing (and with most of the news media reacting purely off those polls) – Harris’s selection will largely shore up the weaknesses that were dragging down Biden’s poll numbers.
