On June 3rd it was previously announced by her office that representative Sheila Jackson-Lee was battling pancreatic cancer. Today, her office announced she died. Cancer is horrible. While it is sometimes difficult to find resilient grace and appropriate words for prayer; that does not absolve us of the commands of our faith. I will pray for Mrs Sheila Jackson-Lee and her family. Understanding the path of light was fully within her control.

Several friends have died of this. Not a good way to go. But a person creates their own legacy. She created her own, and we know what it is. I won't recount it here, other than to say she could have been a whole lot better person.

Save your prayers for the long suffering people of the 18th Congressional district. Don't blame those voters. SJL was selected and installed by the Democrat machinery. The district lines have the most squiggles in the USA. Harris County is the most corrupt city in Texas, and has few peers nationwide.

God grant her eternal peace. Anyone who will be overly saddened by this news might recognize that we'll never forget SJL in the D.C. swamp as long as Mad Maxine is still there .. They didn't particularly look the same; but their presence and functional roles seemed hard to distinguish at times.

Again, my prayers and condolences to her friends and family. But there was a story years ago about how tough she was to her staff. It was a holiday recess, members at home, on vacation/junket and things were a bit relaxed at the DC offices. There's a knock at the door of a Republican office. It's a staffer from SJL's nearby office. Seems they were celebrating a birthday and asked if they could borrow a knife to cut the cake. The GOP staffer found a knife but as she was giving it to him, she expressed surprise that they didn't have a knife in their break room. The SJL staffer said something like it wouldn't be a good idea to keep knives around our office. Rest in peace, SJL.

FTA: "I will pray for Mrs Sheila Jackson-Lee and her family". So TODAY we are allowed to pray? What if I decide to "pray for Ms Jackson" in front of an ABORTION CLINIC? Will I be arrested under the FACE ACT? Or am I permitted to do so today because the dems have given me permission to pray?

Good point, #13 - and that was from 1972 and 75 -- before the reputations of both schools sank from malignant affirmative action? Yet she played the pathological race-hustler her whole career. I know it was a short illness (at least that's how it was reported), and the onset/the new knowledge of cancer is fluid, but she was still a representative when she died. That means she held on to her office until the end. Who was truly representing her district? Who voted in her absence? Why didn't she resign, if nothing else to take care of her health? How was her condition any different than biden's? It's just wrong that these people hang on to office with everything they have in them when their job is to represent the people who elect them (expect when your office is a given). When they're not able to do that, they should step aside so someone else can. It's wrong.

Thousands of Catholics are flocking to Gower, Missouri to see the exhumed remains of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster. The body of Sister Wilhelmina, the founder of the Benedictine Sisters of Mary, Queen of the Apostles, is completely intact after her death four years ago. Expecting to find bones, the Benedictine Sisters instead unearthed a coffin with an apparently intact body, even though the body was not embalmed and the wooden coffin had a crack down the middle that let in moisture and dirt for an unknown length of time during those four years.

With friends like liberal media, who needs enemies? Their virtue signaling and political spin over Ukraine is so revolting that if I didn't know better, I'd turn against Ukraine like so many conservative commentators already have. It was all part of the People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) biowarfare plan against the United States. The design of COVID-19 was based on a number of bioweapon features, in particular, highly contagious, low lethality, and a high rate of asymptomatic transmission. Another important feature of a PLA bioweapon, not mentioned on that list, is disguising its origin. That is, the capability of avoiding responsibility for a biowarfare attack by designing a virus that could be blamed on a natural outbreak.

Back in my high school English classes, we were treated to one Shakespearean play each year and were required to commit to memory a soliloquy from each. Sophomore year, the play was Julius Caesar, so as to coincide with our Latin course which had us translate Caesar’s De Bello Gallico. Marc Antony’s panegyric for Caesar sprung to mind as one after another former friend and supporter of President Donald Trump flipped sides, essentially engaging in a favorite ancient Roman exercise of damnatio memoriae (the damnation or cancellation of the memory of someone).

President Biden made the historically rare decision Sunday to drop out of the 2024 presidential race, less than four months after being declared the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee and days after a dismal debate showing. The 81-year-old president’s exit from the race – months before Election Day – comes after a debate performance against former President Donald Trump in which the incumbent appeared infirm and was at times incoherent – alarming Democratic donors and strategists. Biden’s withdrawal is expected to set off a free-for-all for the Democratic nomination for president.

Former President Barack Obama didn’t endorse Kamala Harris — saying Democrats would pick an unnamed “outstanding nominee” in his first statement on President Biden stepping aside from the party’s ticket. “We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead,” said Obama, 62. “But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.” Some Democrats fear that Harris, the 59-year-old vice president, could further diminish the party’s chances against former President Donald Trump, 78, in the Nov. 5 election.

I’ve argued previously that former first lady and twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton would like one more bite at the apple, and as Biden’s reelection candidacy implodes, her name has popped up once again. Frankly, I’m surprised it’s taken this long. The Hill opinion contributor Pablo O’Hana thinks Rodham Clinton is just the woman who can save the president’s chances: “But who?” "The strongest argument against replacing President Joe Biden as the 2024 Democratic nominee is the notion that no suitable successor exists. But there is, and not just a good one but one of the most qualified people ever to run for the office: Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Meanwhile on MSNBC, Rachel Maddow gave viewers an emblazoned speech about how Biden's decision to shy away from the election is not what he would have truly wanted - instead it's something he's done for the good of the country.

The Treasury Department is warning that state laws that restrict banks from considering environmental, social and governance factors could harm efforts to address money laundering and terrorism financing. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the letter sent Thursday to lawmakers. The letter singled out a law signed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in May that says it would be an “unsafe and unsound practice” for banks to consider non-financial factors when doing business. The letter concludes that “such laws create uncertainty and may inhibit” national security efforts. Conservative Republicans such as DeSantis have sought to block environmental and socially conscious standards for investing,

Can you think of anyone worse than President Joe Biden to run the White House? I can— and that’s twice-failed presidential Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton. An op-ed published by “The Hill” argued that America is desperately “ready for round two” of a Clinton ticket. As Democrats work to push Biden out of the 2024 race, the outlet asks who would be the strongest candidate to challenge former President Donald Trump, suggesting that Clinton is “not just a good one but one of the most qualified people ever to run for office.”

An Obama judge has tossed out a lawsuit by the GOP to ban mail-in ballots in Nevada received up to four days after election day. The challenge to the state’s law passed in 2021, which is designed to allow Democratic organizers to commit fraud and steal elections from Republicans, was dismissed by Obama-appointed Federal District Court Chief Judge Miranda Du as lacking standing. In her 15-page ruling, Du said there was no evidence that the plaintiffs “have suffered, or will likely suffer, an injury” from the rules, which allow Democrats and corrupt election officials to “find” the required number of votes to steal elections in which

All eyes are on Vice President Kamala Harris after President Biden’s Beltway-shaking decision to drop out of the 2024 race — as speculation runs wild over whom she would tap as a running mate if she snags the nomination. Harris quickly emerged as the front-runner to replace Biden as the Democratic Party’s standard bearer but has not dropped any major hints about whom she’d like to have as a running mate. Given the rushed circumstances of the decision, she will have very little time to vet them and ensure that they’d work well together. (Snip) Here are 10 people she could choose from:

For now, I’m taking at face value that Biden has withdrawn from the presidential campaign via a tweeted-out letter, with the promise of a live statement to follow. However, a surprising number of people believe that, considering how consequential Biden’s statement is, a tweeted-out letter suggests a coup rather than a voluntary resignation. More than anything, this reveals how the Biden administration has destroyed all trust in the government. To catch you up on things, Biden put out two separate tweets. The first, at 1:46 p.m. Eastern Time, announced his resignation:

Independent Senator Joe Manchin is considering returning to the Democratic party and jumping in the presidential race now that President Biden has announced he will not seek reelection. The West Virginia Senator had previously been floated as a potential unity candidate during the primary season but declined to run. At the end of May, Manchin left the Democratic party after decades in office as a Democrat and registered as an Independent. But Manchin is now considering reversing course and re-registering as a Democrat to run for president, a source confirmed to DailyMail.com.
