Modernize Auto Manufacturing Facilities

Original Article

The federal government is spending $1.7 billion to modernize automobile manufacturing facilities, helping the industry compete with foreign subsidies and create and protect jobs. As part of the Automotive Community Benefits Plan, the current administration will extend grants to 11 selected manufacturing plants in eight states, including in Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, that have temporarily closed or were at risk of closing.

Comments:

More taxpayer money down the EV rathole, as the Biden regime attempts to buy auto union votes.

FTA: 'The latest announcement is a critical part of the administration’s efforts to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States...' Why not invest in making something people really want, that really works, and they can afford. So, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania? 2 swing states, and one they think might be harder to steal this time around. And Barry said his administration was the most transparent.

Why does biden's administration create a problem and then offer a way to 'fix' the problem which is really a way to maintain the problem. 10th Amendment, folks. It is not the federal government's job to pick industry's winner and losers...(unless it is dems buying votes with tax dollars).

Corporate welfare? Democrats? impossible! Their voters HATE corporate welfare! Oh, that's right Democrat voters don't get a say so on who gets elected, Rigged and non-existent primaries, Super delegates, and a media that will push any candidate the DNC wants to prevent it. Republican voters would never stand for it.

A real leader would let them struggle to survive or die. A charlatan will steal our money, take credit for his generosity and they will still end up in failure. See what's happening in Ukraine? Replace that country in the scenario with the US auto industry. Biden was played by the UAW, which will accept our money with glee.

Wait...I thought they were trying to phase out the production of fossil fuel powered vehicles? Now they're spending money to modernize the factories that produce the product they're trying to eliminate. It doesn't make sense unless polling suggests the democrats are losing the union vote and this is an attempt to buy back those votes. Thank goodness the democrat party has access to all our tax dollars and that money is readily available to buy more votes.

Forcing manufacturers to remodel their plants to produce EVs is not a good thing. This spending is worse than wasted. It is taking the products people prefer to buy off the market. I suggest that paying manufacturers to stop producing ICE automobiles is very inflationary as it makes the cost of the products people want and need to rise.

There was a major problem with the 2020 Census, and most people probably haven’t heard about it, even though it has enormous implications. At the end of May, the Census Bureau admitted that it miscounted 14 states in the 2020 Census. Why didn’t the media make a big stink about this story? Maybe it was overshadowed by the recent mass shootings, that’s certainly a possibility, but I have another theory. Here are the states that the Census acknowledged it overcounted: Hawaii, Delaware, Rhode Island, Minnesota, New York, and Massachusetts. Here are the states that the Census acknowledged it undercounted: Texas, Illinois, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas.
