Democratic Amnesia

The post-debate throw-Biden-overboard movement is somewhat disingenuous. The Democrats brought their problems completely upon themselves. Let’s do some historical searching. It was primary season, 2020. Mayor Pete and Bernie Sanders dominated the early Democratic primaries. Sanders had momentum, he had his “Bernie Bros” and however extreme his positions, he spoke with conviction and force. Nobody ever accused Bernie Sanders of suffering from dementia, however extreme his positions are. The Democrats had a problem. Bernie Sanders might be their nominee. He might lose to Trump, but more importantly, he is now unpalatable to donors

In the very last paragraph is this statement: "Their troubles started in South Carolina in 2020." When Donald Trump first spoke of running for President of the USA in 2024, I was reluctant for one reason. He could serve one term. While watching everything that has taken place since his campaign announcement, I have come to a different conclusion. He is the exact person we need for these times. He knows how vicious the other side can be; after all, he endured the Russian collusion debacle and the two impeachments in the first four years. He KNOWS details that we don't and probably never will. He has the timing and order of things because he KNOWS those details. The debate was one of them. Joe Biden had Robert DeNiro represent him with Donald Trump's court trial. Big and tough Robert DeNiro with a face mask. Every one of Joe Biden's supporters expected him to come out big and tough for the debate. After all, he told Donald Trump to bring it on. The biggest clue to the outcome of the debate was like that face mask on DeNiro. Joe Biden had to be at Camp David for a week to get him ready for the debate and then he refused to submit to a drug test. Yes, I firmly believe that Donald Trump knows details that we don't and probably never will. . .

Clearly it has been and is the Democrat big wigs who intend to decide who their Presidential candidate will be, just as last time around, and not Democrat voters across the country through the traditional political primary process.

I feels to me like the best solution the dems have is to let Trump win. Remember that despite all their blather, the dem leadership knows that Trump is not going to blow up the country. Meanwhile, if Biden wins, he would be lucky to last his first year and it will be a big mess to straighten things out and then there is Kamala standing in the wings as VP. All that would be hung around the dems necks. The midterms would be a wipeout and the bad will would probably persist into 2028. Clean up isle 10! Instead, sabotage Biden by exposing him. Ruin his support and fund raising. Throw his voters into a depression. Biden loses but it's all because of Biden and dem leadership shrugs and says, "Who knew?" and "It was too late to do anything about it.". All in all, a polite fiction. They survive another 4 years of Trump (because Trump isn't really that bad). They prep for 2028 without Biden or Jill or a lot of other baggage. They also have time to get their internal house in order and complain about Republicans. Lose one presidential cycle (2024 is already lost) or lose two? For some dems, its just a cold calculation.

Enjoy the irony that a party which refuses to define a woman is stuck between 2 in Jill & Kamala.

Washington Post columnist Jen Rubin has been circling the wagons on behalf of President Joe Biden in the days since last week’s disastrous debate performance, in large part by attacking his opponent, former President Donald Trump. On Monday night, as part of that strategy, Rubin made a strained, historically illiterate comparison to Adolf Hitler. “Aw, Hindenberg is too old said some Germans before electing a monster,” declared Rubin on X, formerly Twitter. (X) As a community note now affixed to Rubin’s post points out — that’s not how that happened! In actuality, Paul Von Hindenburg was reelected as the German president in 1932 at the age of 84 in a race in which

For five years, honest political commentators have been pointing out the obvious decline of Joe Biden. Physically, he has fallen off his bike, on stage, and the stairs of Air Force One numerous times. These incidents became so much of a concern that Biden started using the “baby stairs” to enter Air Force One to limit the potential for an accident. President Biden no longer walks with confidence but shuffles his feet. He started using special shoes to help him stay upright. However, after the debate on Thursday night, his wife had to make sure he did not fall, so she assisted him as he gingerly descended a few stairs

President Joe Biden is back to lying to the American people. During a fundraiser in New Jersey on Saturday, Biden claimed that he won over more undecided voters than former President Donald Trump post his disastrous debate performance. Biden insisted that the malfunctions he suffered during the 90-minute gaffe-filled debate actually impressed undecided voters rather than deter them from voting for him. Insert laugh track here. “Research during the debate shows us converting more undecided voters than Trump did, in large part because of his conduct on Jan. 6,” Biden told the crowd. “People remember the bad things during his presidency.” The 81-year-old’s bad debate night prompted the country,

I had resolved not to watch last Thursday night’s debate because I didn’t think it would change anything, and I was right to the extent that it didn’t change anything for me. I already knew President Crusty was a sundowning desiccated old weirdo. But it changed things for people who were on the fence or not paying attention. That’s not going to matter, though. Joe Biden is not going anywhere. The fact is that Joe Biden is the nominee, and he will remain the nominee. By the next morning, the rallying and rationalization were in full effect. Obama tweeted about how it’s all going to be OK.

Let's be honest: Everyone has known for a long time now that Joe Biden is both physically frail and cognitively impaired. Biden's allies have merely thought they could deny it until after the election. Well, the debate made that impossible, and now there's a mad dash to do "something" about it. Calls for Biden to drop out are coming in strong from the left-wing media, and elected Democrats are freaking out privately. How did this happen? How did we get to this point? Well, some Democratic Party insiders say that Joe Biden was set up to fail in a "soft coup" designed to oust him. "There has never been a debate

Washington and the media are surprisingly quiet today about the Biden drama. No doubt journalists are working the phones hard with their sources, but there seem to be no new breathless headlines or concrete news about Democrat “panic” or behind-closed-door machinations to force Slow Joe out of the race. Have leading Democrats thrown in the towel, and realized they can’t get rid of Biden? Or are Democratic insiders being unusually disciplined in not talking to the media while the wheels are turning? Watch the Sunday morning news shows for clues. That’s where Washington often talks to itself, and people float trial balloons or send authorized signals.

A subtle but important point from the email sent out by Biden’s deputy campaign manager I previously discussed. "The bedwetting brigade is calling for Joe Biden to “drop out.” That is the best possible way for Donald Trump to win and us to lose. First of all: Joe Biden is going to be the Democratic nominee, period. End of story. Voters voted. He won overwhelmingly. And if he were to drop out, it would lead to weeks of chaos, internal foodfighting, and a bunch of candidates who limp into a brutal floor fight at the convention, all while Donald Trump has time to speak to American voters uncontested.

Joe Biden got dog walked by Donald Trump on Thursday night. It was a drumming that, quite frankly, might be unrecoverable. It’s why Democrats everywhere are popping Paxil and chugging whisky to cope because they’re stuck. Sure, there’s talk about how to replace Biden, but that ship sailed months ago. Democrats are now stuck with an impossible situation because not even that little rally in North Carolina the following day, where Biden was livelier, can repair the damage that’s been done. In the aftermath, the Biden White House is leaking like a sieve, with aides chirping that the president is only functional during a six-hour window (via Axios):

Joe Biden only had to do one thing: prove he could debate Donald Trump without looking like someone who was about to take up residency at a nursing home. He failed miserably, which has led to panic among Democrats not seen since slavery was abolished. Of course, damage control is being done among the party’s upper crust, with endless statements attesting to their commitment to Mr. Biden as the nominee. They must—it’s a tacit acknowledgment that they can’t replace Biden on the ticket, which has become another topic of conversation. If there were a window, the pressure campaign we’re seeing now would be much more intense.

On Monday morning, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 decision of Trump v. United States that the office of the United States presidency has immunity from criminal prosecution. Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote the dissent, which Justices Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson also signed onto. It's a dissent that has plenty of people talking over social media, with a common theme of the reaction being "bats**t" to describe her ranting and raving. "With fear for our democracy, I dissent," she wrote in what sounds like a line the Biden reelection will almost certainly take advantage of. She also began her dissent in part by writing

The Biden family are apparently questioning whether several top campaign aides should be fired after last week’s disastrous debate debacle — as some allies accused President Biden’s preparation team of “political malpractice.” Talk of axing the staffers unfolded in private as President Biden and his family hunkered down at Camp David over the weekend to discuss options amid mounting calls for the 81-year-old to give up his re-election campaign, sources told CNN. During the discussions, some members of the first family trashed the senior aides and called for them to be put on the chopping block —
