Top Democrats rule out replacing Biden

WASHINGTON, - Top Democrats on Sunday ruled out the possibility of replacing President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee after a feeble debate performance and called on party members to focus instead on the consequences of a second Donald Trump presidency. After days of hand-wringing about Biden's poor night on stage debating Trump, Democratic leaders firmly rejected calls for their party to choose a younger presidential candidate for the Nov. 5 election. Biden, 81, meanwhile, was huddling with family members at the Camp David presidential retreat on Sunday. The New York Times cited people close to the situation as saying that Biden's family were urging him to stay in

Democrat party appears to be in chaos. To them I say, enjoy the suck. May their chaos be unending. I have nothing but contempt. The Dems have brought us nothing but invasion of illegal aliens, out-of-control crime, inflation at the grocery store and gas station, disrespect of our allies and mortal enemies. Enough!

Given all the corruption that surrounds the Bidens, I have to believe that the Deep State could walk into the Oval Office, hand Biden some incriminating documents, and give him a choice: step down or be the first occupant of the Biden Wing in federal prison. To be followed by his son, his brothers, and the wives who weren't smart enough to run away from this family.

Hunter: "Dad, you need to stay in office so you can pardon me!" No matter WHAT top dems say and what they deny, the country saw Biden, live, in Sundown mode. It doesn't matter if, sometimes, Biden is functional. A LOT of the time, he is not. Would you like an air traffic controller with Biden's problem managing plane traffic. "Oops, pardon me while I sundown for the next 12 hours." It's far, far worse for the president. Of course fanatical dems would vote in a tree stump rather than a Republican, ESPECIALLY not Trump. I suspect that the dems "supporting" Biden staying in the race are facing the reality that the tactical problems of removing him are almost insurmountable and would lead to a dem party civil war that would be VERY ugly. Either way the dems are likely to lose this election, but after a civil war, there would be dem body parts laying all about and they might not have a functional part for a long time. Unfortunately for the dems, I suspect that reconstructing their party after the election, even without a civil war, will be almost impossible as well. It has been held together with duct tape since 2020 and continues to fracture. Going through this VERY public exposure of the Biden farce is not going to go away.

Just a couple of days ago I wrote about the way the national media was expressing shock over Joe Biden's performance at the debate while simultaneously ignoring the fact that many people on the right have been pointing out this was a problem for at least a year. Joe Biden shuffled out to a White House podium on Monday and did nothing to assuage the questions surrounding his fitness for the office. He was also...oddly orange. After Biden faceplanted on the national stage, showing ample evidence of his senility at last Thursday's debate, his handlers decided to smear him in bronzer to make him look less pale.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung joined a Biden-Harris campaign call Monday, posting that it was the “saddest thing I’ve ever listened to.” “They have given up,” he posted on X. The conference call with reporters is the first after President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance on Thursday that sent Democrats scrambling for another presidential candidate. The call was reportedly to discuss the Supreme Court’s ruling that presidents have absolute immunity from prosecution on official actions — a development which will effectively delay some trials sought by Democrat prosecutors against former President Donald Trump until after the election.

Trump leads Biden by six points in the probability of winning the popular vote in November, Nate Silver’s election model forecasted post-debate.

Monday, the Supreme Court handed down a mixed bag of a ruling on presidential immunity. In my view, they took what could've been a straightforward and elegant decision — the president is immune from prosecution for acts committed in office unless he has been impeached for those acts — and turned it into a dog's breakfast of angels-on-the-head-of-a-pin litigation about what constitutes official and unofficial acts. Susie Moore has an excellent write-up on that case at BREAKING: Supreme Court Rules on Presidential Immunity. What has passed with remarkably little notice is Justice Clarence Thomas's concurrence. Justice Thomas says the Court is putting the cart before the horse.

The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed challenges to Florida and Texas laws that restrict how large social media companies moderate user content. Each law would require Big Tech companies like X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook to host third-party communications but prevent those businesses from blocking or removing users' posts based on political viewpoints. In a unanimous ruling, the court said lower courts did not properly analyze the First Amendment issues at play in the case. As a result, each case will go back to its respective Circuit Court of Appeals.
