Did you hear the story about a national law enforcement organization that came out and endorsed Kamala Harris? The group, Police Leaders for Community Safety, made their endorsement Monday via press release.
“This endorsement reflects Vice President Harris’ track record and unwavering commitment to public safety and the rule of law,” said Sue Riseling, Chair of Police Leaders for Community Safety. “As police leaders who have led law enforcement agencies and the major national law enforcement leadership groups, we know first-hand what it will take to make our communities safer – and that includes having Kamala Harris as our next President."

The House Foreign Affairs Committee narrowly voted 26–25 to recommend Antony Blinken be held in contempt of Congress following the diplomat’s failure to appear for Tuesday’s hearing.
“Secretary Blinken’s refusal to comply with the Committee’s subpoena — despite months of notice and offers of accommodations — warrants contempt,” the resolution read.
The Republican-led committee has long sought to host the secretary of state as it investigates the botched U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan over three years ago that left 13 U.S. service members dead.

Vice President Kamala Harris said Tuesday that she supports eliminating the Senate filibuster if that’s what it takes to secure abortion rights nationwide by codifying Roe v. Wade.
Seeking to distinguish herself from former president Donald Trump on the abortion issue, Harris has been adamant about signing a bill enshrining women’s access to abortion into federal law. But under the existing filibuster rule, passing such a bill would require 60 votes in the Senate — an all but impossible hurdle to clear given the current composition of the upper chamber and the partisan divide amongst voters on the issue of abortion.

Surprise, surprise, Kamala Harris is using a network of fake news sites to help prop up her campaign and mislead voters about her level of support.
On Monday, the official "Kamala HQ" account posted a headline that read "Polish Pennsylvanians Endorse Kamala Harris Over Putin, Ukraine Concerns." The source was a supposed news outlet named "The Keystone Newsroom." What the Harris campaign was trying to do was clear. Local news outlets are typically more trusted than national outlets by the residents of a given state. By pushing a headline bragging about a major endorsement from "The Keystone Newsroom," an air of credibility is given to the claim.

Brett Favre announced on Tuesday that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
The Hall of Famer delivered the news at his congressional hearing on federal welfare reform.
"Sadly, I also lost an investment in a company that I believed was developing a breakthrough concussion drug I thought would help others," the 54-year-old said. "I’m sure you’ll understand, while it’s too late for me because I’ve recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, this is also a cause dear to my heart." Favre recently said he believes he suffered "thousands" of concussions during his playing career. Back in 2021, he encouraged parents to keep their children away from tackle football

On Tuesday, President Biden reaffirmed his decision to withdraw from Afghanistan in his fourth and final speech in front of world leaders at the United Nations Assembly.
“When I came to office as president, Afghanistan had replaced Vietnam as America’s longest war,” Biden said. “I was determined to end it, and I did. It was a hard decision but the right decision.”
The precipitous U.S. evacuation resulted in chaotic scenes emerging from Kabul, as Afghans scrambled to flee the country before the surging Taliban regained power.
“It was a hard decision but the right decision,” Biden declared.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi said Tuesday that Israel will not give Hezbollah a break from attack, as Israeli Air Force (IAF) warplanes launched a third wave of attacks in Lebanon.
The Times of Israel reported Halevi’s remarks: “Hezbollah must not be given a break. [We must] keep working with all our might.” It also reported that the IAF had dropped 2,000 munitions on Hezbollah in the previous 24 hours.
The Israeli offensive, officially named Operation Northern Arrows, appears to have two separate tactics. On the one hand, Israel is carrying out targeted strikes on Hezbollah leaders and officials, including last week’s pager attacks.

Democrats are increasingly worried that pollsters are undercounting Donald Trump’s voter support, rating his prospects of winning November’s presidential election as much higher than headline opinion polling figures suggest.
While most national surveys show consistent, though moderate, leads for Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, some supporters are unnerved by the small margin of her advantage in three northern battlegrounds – Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin – which are deemed must-wins in her quest for the White House.
Although some polls have shown the vice-president with leads of between four and six points in Pennsylvania – generally judged the most important swing state – others show Trump trailing by smaller deficits.

Former President Donald Trump surged ahead by five points in Arizona, maintained a four point lead in Georgia, and held steady in North Carolina, according to New York Times/Siena College presidential election polling on Monday.
Seven states — Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina — will decide the presidential election, political experts believe. If Trump wins one or more of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia, Kamala Harris’s path to obtain 270 electoral votes becomes almost impossible. Arizona

The second presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris failed to give the Democrat hopeful a “boost,” Politico’s polling experts acknowledged Monday.
Politico’s analysis runs counter to the establishment media claims Harris received a significant increase in support following the debate.
Politico’s Steven Shepard reported:
But surveys point to just a slight Harris bump, with national polls showing the Democrat’s lead has grown by about 1 percentage point since the day of the debate — even including national polls from NBC News and CBS News on Sunday giving Harris a mid-single-digit lead.

Former President Donald Trump told Breitbart News that he plans to aggressively ramp up his campaign activity in the final 40 or so days until the election, with events set across the battleground states, but also in red states and blue states.
“We’re going to be doing a lot of campaigning and going to a lot of places, not just the swing states because I feel that states that are sort of automatically with us I don’t think should be excluded,” Trump said in a nearly hour-long phone interview on Sunday. “We should reward them for loyalty.

Kamala Harris is out campaigning at long last, but her schedule this week doesn't seem to include the swing states of the South.
Instead of campaigning in North Carolina (16 electoral college votes) and Georgia (16 votes), she's focused on Arizona (11 votes), Nevada (6 votes) and Pennsylvania (19 votes) this week.
Pennsylvania, I can understand. It's hotly contested. But her lunge for the Western states over the Southern states suggests maybe her chances aren't quite as good as she'd like. Or perhaps just as likely, she's alarmed at the inroads made by the Trump side of the contest in those Western redoubts, particularly Arizona, where Trump reportedly leads, polls show.
