US President Joe Biden’s administration has informed Congress that it is moving ahead with sales of munitions to Israel potentially worth over $1 billion, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
The transfer includes up to $700 million in tank rounds, another $500 million worth of tactical vehicles and $60 million-worth of mortar shells, the report says. The munitions are intended to replenish stocks used during the war against Hamas, though it could take years for everything included in the deal to reach Israel.
The report comes as Biden has faced pressure over his decision to freeze the transfer of large bombs to Israel over fears

The White House on Tuesday said President Biden would veto a House GOP bill intended to pressure him to send weapons to Israel, calling it a “misguided reaction to a deliberate distortion of the Administration’s approach to Israel.”
The push back comes ahead of an expected vote this week on the Israel Security Assistance Support Act. GOP lawmakers introduced the bill after Biden warned he would withhold certain offensive weapons for Israel if their forces invaded Rafah in Gaza. But the White House cautioned that the legislation “would undermine the President’s ability to execute an effective foreign policy.”

Eighteen Republican-led states are suing the Biden administration’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission over the federal agency’s new sexual-harassment guidance that enforces broad legal protections for transgender workers.
The federal lawsuit, filed on Monday by Tennessee attorney general Jonathan Skrmetti, argues that the EEOC is overstepping its constitutional limits by unlawfully placing gender identity under the purview of Title VII, which prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin.
The states agree with the 2020 Supreme Court ruling, Bostock v. Clayton County, that firing employees because they are transgender or gay constitutes sex-based discrimination. The plaintiffs, however, argue that the decision does not weigh on the accommodations

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott responded to a Sunday article in Daily Mail that detailed the large number of cops ditching California for the pastures of Texas, which might not be greener but are certainly more friendly to law enforcement. Morale is low among peace officers in the Golden State as soft-on-crime woke district attorneys like LA’s George Gascón and Alameda County’s Pamela Price, along with criminal-loving measures like Proposition 47, make them feel undermined and unwelcome.
Thousands of them are getting out of Dodge, the outlet reported:
…the Golden State is hemorrhaging thousands of police every year, with numbers down by more than 5,000 since 2019.

Two public universities in Virginia have scrapped their planned diversity, equity, and inclusion requirements after a review by Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R-VA) administration.
Virginia Commonwealth University and George Mason University canceled their plans to implement DEI-oriented classes as a requirement for undergraduate studies after Youngkin raised concerns about “core curriculum mandates that are a thinly veiled attempt to incorporate the progressive Left’s groupthink.”
However, while the VCU Board of Visitors voted 10-5 publicly in a meeting on Friday to reject a “racial literacy” requirement just before the fall 2024 academic semester,

Taking a page out of his predecessor’s playbook, President Joe Biden’s administration announced on Tuesday that it is raising tariffs on Chinese good across several sectors the White House believes to be strategically important.
Citing concerns about China’s “unfair trade practices,” the Biden administration announced that it is sharply increasing taxes on a variety of Chinese imports, including steel and aluminum, semiconductors, electric vehicles, and critical minerals, according to a White House fact sheet.
“Today’s actions to counter China’s unfair trade practices are carefully targeted at strategic sectors—the same sectors where the United States is making historic investments under President Biden

A conviction in the criminal trial of former President Donald Trump would boost his support among key swing state voters, a Telegraph/Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll recently found, contradicting a narrative that a potential Trump conviction would somehow boost President Joe Biden’s flagging poll numbers.
The poll sampled voters in seven swing states. In Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, a greater number of voters said a Trump conviction would make them more likely than not to vote for Trump.
Thirty-five percent of voters in Georgia said a Trump conviction would increase their chances of voting for the former president. Only 27 percent said a Trump conviction

There have been some spectacular flameouts in the land of solar cells lately.
Actually, there was one today. Couldn't have made a bigger splash if it tried as it fried. Yes, you read that right. In the middle of a big swim meet with thousands of school kids and parents gathered in Australia under the roof of the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Center, that solar panel-encrusted roof lit off. All the "carnival" attendees and staff had to hotfoot it out of the building. A massive blaze plunged a swimming carnival into chaos with hundreds of school children forced to evacuate a busy aquatic centre.

New surveys conducted by The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Siena College show former President Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden in five of six swing states.
In a two-man race between Trump and Biden, Trump leads 51-38% among likely voters; by a whopping 13 points 51-38% in Nevada; six points 49-43% in Arizona; nine points 50-41% in Georgia; three points in Pennsylvania 48-45%; and one point in Wisconsin 47-46%; while Biden clings to a one-point margin in Michigan. When third-party candidates such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. were included, Trump’s lead soared to nine points in Arizona, to 14 in Nevada, and stayed almost

The war in Gaza is reverberating all the way through north Bronx and Westchester County, defining the most competitive primary an incumbent House Democrat is facing anywhere in the country.
That’s where Rep. Jamaal Bowman of New York, who got to Washington four years ago by winning a primary against one of Israel’s then-most adamant defenders in Congress, is now facing a major challenger of his own, driven in part because of criticism of Israel that opponents say has put “Squad”-aligned politics ahead of what his district wants.
Bowman became a central figure in taking on Israel from the first days after October 7, almost immediately supporting a resolution

The British government will not suspend supplying arms to Israel, Foreign Secretary David Cameron said on Sunday, following Democrat President Joe Biden suspending some weapons shipments and threatening to cut off further military aid to Jerusalem if it presses forward with its planned invasion of Rafah to hunt down Hamas terrorists.
In an interview on Sky News’ Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips Show, Foreign Minister David Cameron said that cutting off weapons shipments to Israel is “not a wise path” noting that the last time he faced public pressure to do so “a few days later there was a massive Iranian attack on Israel, including 140 cruise missiles.”
