Trump undermines himself with crude language

Original Article

Posted By: Harlowe, 5/14/2024 12:29:04 AM

If you are the parent of young children, are you OK with your kids hearing former President Donald Trump’s language and putdowns, like the ones at his rally last Saturday in Wildwood, New Jersey? One can hear a kid justifying his or her own swearing: “If Trump can talk like that, why can’t I?” Is this the way we want our children to be raised? They will learn swear words soon enough (and hopefully control their use of them or eschew them altogether).

Your thoughts, comments, and ideas are always welcome here. But we ask you to please be mindful and respectful. Threatening or crude language doesn't persuade anybody and makes the conversation less enjoyable for fellow L.Dotters.

Mr. Thomas may need to be reminded that American Presidents uttering profanity is not unusual as evidenced by reviewing transcripts and recordings available through the “Presidential Recordings Program at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center” FTA: If you are the parent of young children, are you OK with your kids hearing former President Donald Trump’s language and putdowns ... ~ Agee. Not good for children to hear profane language and agree most MAGA supporters, parents or not, would prefer President Trump refrain from profanity as well as criticizing Joe Biden’s walking which is due to a medical issue and not a political issue. Trump’s cursing was the perfect finish to a week that included ... but that doesn’t justify a potty mouth. ~ Unless one has walked in President Trump’s shoes since he descended the escalator in 2015, that person cannot know the depth and breadth of what he and his family have had to endure so, while not pleased with a potty mouth, exasperation/frustration can be understood by fair-minded, nonjudgmental people of faith. Trump uses Hell as a curse word with increasing frequency. Does he believe in Hell? Does he believe in Heaven and know how to get there? His fervent evangelical supporters, some of whom bizarrely claim he shares their faith, should ask him. ~ It has been reported that President Trump has a deep and abiding faith but does not wear his faith on his sleeve so would be aware of heaven and hell as well as how to get there. Passing judgment on him or those who “bizarrely claim he shares their faith” is judging others and warned about in Matthew 7:1-3. Maybe it’s generational, but isn’t behavior objectively and eternally right or wrong? We seem to be trying to have it both ways. Curse words are bad when used by a politician we dislike but are ignored, even praised, when one approves of a politician. ~ Behavior is not generational, it is parental; Scripture is clear about the duty of parents to teach their children in “the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” The analogy presented about curse words being ignored by politicians based on like or dislike is no different than the lies of politicians as evidenced repeatedly and emphatically by the mainstream media. Perhaps Trump should consult the wisdom of our first president. George Washington said: “The foolish and wicked practice of profane cursing and swearing…is a vice so mean and low, without any temptation, that every man of sense and character detests and despises it.” ~ The wisdom of President George Washington is a national treasured; however, President Washington was not the victim of vile hostility as is President Trump these past nine years. According to the Association for Psychological Science, regular swearing “is a defining feature of a Type A personality. It is negatively correlated with conscientiousness, agreeableness, sexual anxiety, and religiosity.” ~ Psychological analysis being applied to President Trump at this point in time is grossly unreasonable; textbook is one thing, living a life under constant reprehensible, unjustified assault is another. Likewise, the recurring innuendo regarding President Trump religion brings to mind the following quotation:“Judging others makes us blind, whereas love is illuminating. By judging others we blind ourselves to our own evil and to the grace which others are just as entitled to as we are.” ~~~ (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)

Sure Cal. How old is the photo Cal is using? He is a vain bushy who wonders how a parent could possibly stop their child from swearing because President Trump said hell and B S in front of a crowd of an estimated 100k who chanted B S? Cal longs for the days when he could whine 24/7 about democrats, safely cushioned by a Republican party that either was out of power or careful to never use it to stop the Deep State.

He is surrounded by the vilest of lying hypocrites (whited sepulchers) who are working diligently to completely destroy Donald Trump and the very freedoms that he is fighting to defend - freedoms which allow Americans to openly preach & practice their religious beliefs. Yet, Cal Thomas self-righteously focuses on Donald Trump’s use of profanity to describe the evil and egregiously profane behavior of the foul, lying, hypocrites who are dishonoring God, denying US the freedom to worship Him, & destroying the liberty bestowed in our Founding Documents. I’d rather teach a child to not use bad language, and to always stand for what is right. There are things to admire about Donald Trump. If there are admirable qualities in his attempted destroyers, I have yet to see them. Maybe Cal Thomas could point them out for us in one of his columns.

All that said, he knows how to make money, and he isn't a communist. He doesn't want the country to fail and will fight tooth and nail to keep that from happening. That alone puts him way ahead of any democrat.

Ah the ol "mean tweets" cudgel. Let us review: 1. the US gvt used it's most sophisticated spying apparatus on the American people and then on an election candidate for POTUS, who somehow managed to win anyway. 2. Those same spooks then phonied up massive false evidence of treason against that same man. 3.The outgoing POTUS committed actual treason by sabotaging the new president's admin. 4. In the following election, all swing states stopped counting ballots overnight on false pretenses miraculously reversing win projections after adding ballots with Zero chain of custody. But Cal thinks our problem is curse words. He has reduced himself to The Church Lady and no longer a serious voice of reason.

I am someone who hates profanity. I believe it leads to culture rot and it is pervasive today. Sure, I would love to turn the clock back when cursing was frowned upon to such an extent that men would apologize to women when a profanity slipped their lips. Now women are more profane than men. It has cheapened our culture to the point that you hear the most profane words come out of children’s mouths. I am shocked and dismayed by the language today. It doesn’t sit well with me because I grew up in a different time when respect was a virtue and that meant no cursing in public. Now it is a verbal free for all that I would not expect would have happened if women had not so enthusiastically embraced it. Our society is paying the price for the cheapening of our language. So I am no fan of profanity. Sure, I would prefer that President Trump be more careful with his words, but having said that I cannot imagine the frustration he feels every single day he sits in that Courtroom. I do not give him a pass but I do understand his choice of words. Cal Thomas is being nit picky with his thoughts on this while the country is hanging by a thread. He’s swallowing a camel and choking on a gnat. There are other issues that require his attention. How about the democrats using lawfare as a political weapon? Now, that is something that really matters. Grinding on the use of a four letter word seems petty. We have bigger fish to fry.

Excuse me, Cal Thomas, but I am certain there are other situations that you might not judge so harshly. How about a cancer patient going through some very painful procedures that could possibly produce a swear word? For that matter, any medical procedure that might produce a lot of pain. How about some of violent actions that get inflicted on innocent people that produce a lot of pain? The list could go on but concerning Donald Trump and his profanity, some of the emotional pain he has had to endure since deciding to run for President including 2020, I am surprised maybe even disgusted you are even bringing this up. Cal Thomas, your definitions are much different than mine. . .

Trump spent his entire life in New York, conversing with construction workers and other regular people who grew up there. Take a walk down a street in New York (not now but you know what I mean) and you will hear much worse. I don't care how a man talks, it's what he does that counts. Try surviving a day in the military without hearing every "bad" word in the book. Every school kid in the world picks that language up from adults if it is used around them but television, movies and the Internet doesn't censor bad language, only conservative views. IOW get a life, Cal. Wait until full-blown dementia kicks in for Joe's rotten brain if you want to be shocked.

Cal, you are so wrong. Trump's language is exactly what the majority of Americans feel about the state of this country. Every second of every day REAL Americans are bombarded with anti-American rhetoric. They can't even escape for a couple of hours at a movie or watch a tv program without being told what they think and who they are is destroying democracy all by the people who are actually destroying democracy. This is exactly why Trump is so popular. A little cussing once in a while never hurt anyone especially when it used to make a point.

It was New Jersey, as the writer notes. Also, I'd call Trump's language vulgar, or common, but not profane. But he needs to dial it back a little. The thing that is attracting people is his submission to the law, and the patience, humility and stoic courage with which he endures his prosecution. It shows his faith in our system and commitment to it. Even the blind can see it, and it is compelling!

Cal Thomas would serve a far better purpose by focusing on the impact the entertainment industry has had and continues to have on children and society in this country rather than the occasional Trump rally that might contain an occasional word of profanity. The blood, crime, demonic-themed stories, games, guts, profanity, sexual perversions, sexual promiscuity, violence, etc., in music, movies, and television saturate almost every day and hour in the lives of children and adults and does far more harm than an occasional obscenity uttered by President Trump.

About thirty years ago the President of The United States of America taught young children what oral sex is and is not and demonstrated alternate uses for cigars. I am NOT worried about Donald J Trump using any language that then-Vice President Joe Biden ("it's a big f*ing deal") was admired for and that is regularly heard in TV films and a major music industry. You are right, small children should not be exposed to it - so leave the kids home. Like the sign says at the amusement park: You must be this high to participate in politics.

Plus, Cal needs to get off the Paul Ryan Little Miss Chastity pony. We need to win in November, not obsess about Trump's animadversions. Talking dirty is in bad taste, but it's not necessarily wrong. In my life there are some things I've seen that would make a preacher cuss, and might cause the air around his head to turn grey. Sometimes I do, too. I used to like Cal Thomas and have only swore when I was really angry or hurt myself on accident but let's face facts. Children today listen to music that is laced with curse words. They hear their parents and other adults "curse like sailors" in ordinary conversations. Just the other day I heard two young Black teens use the F and the N word (with the a not the er) while taking to each other. PDJT has been under assault by democrats and RINOs since he came down that Trump tower escalator in 2015. He at this point has a right to be just a tad bit frustrated. We need a fighter in the White House not a wilting, mumbling, bumbling stumbling numbskull.

Pete Hegseth squeaked through his Senate confirmation on Friday and became America’s new secretary of defense, but he needn't thank Republican senators Mitch McConnell, Lisa Murkowski, and Susan Collins. For all three long-time establishment and anti-Trump senators, the main objection to Hegseth stepping into the top Pentagon job was that they believe he lacks the prerequisite experience to run the mammoth organization. [Snip] Never mind that Hegseth was educated at Princeton and Harvard...served more than a decade in the U.S. Army infantry...rose to the rank of major while serving tours in Afghanistan...is a published author who has led veteran advocacy organizations.

[Snip] “I couldn’t disagree with him that if he had been president, if they hadn’t stolen victory from him in 2020, the crisis that emerged in Ukraine in 2022 could have been avoided.” [Snip] Putin’s statement was his bluntest endorsement yet of Trump’s refusal to accept his defeat in the 2020 election. [Snip] On Thursday, Trump told Fox News that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should have made a deal with Putin to avoid the conflict.
