Kim Godwin, who has served as the president of ABC News since 2021, revealed on Sunday that she is leaving the network. In a statement issued to staff of ABC News, Godwin announced that she is retiring from broadcast news. “I have decided to retire from broadcast journalism,” Godwin said in her statement, adding that “after considerable reflection” on her decision, she is “certain it’s the right one.”

Israel has launched a rocket attack on Rafah after dismissing Hamas accepting a Gaza ceasefire proposal as a 'ruse'.
Hamas issued a statement earlier today saying its supreme leader, Ismail Haniyeh, had delivered the news in a phone call with Qatar's prime minister and Egypt's intelligence minister.
But an Israeli official said the proposal that Hamas had accepted was a 'softened' version of an Egyptian proposal, which included 'far-reaching' conclusions that Israel could not accept.
'This would appear to be a ruse intended to make Israel look like the side refusing a deal,' said the Israeli official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Hamas opened fire near the Keren Shalom crossing that had been used to bring in aid to Gaza. The attack was predictably launched from near a civilian shelter in Rafah.
