For the longest time, the media played this game of pretending that it doesn’t consist entirely of a bunch of leftist activists who exist to promote their political agenda and attack those of their political opponents.
The pretense is wearing thin. And who knew that Ronna McDaniel of all people would be the breaking point? But it’s kind of like the way that the media’s attacks on dishwater liberals like McCain and Romney, portraying them as Hitler 2.0 just because they posed a threat to Obama, helped kill the media’s credibility. [SNIP] Now NBC News has officially banned Republicans, even ones like Ronna McDaniel, from working there.

Hamakom synagogue, a conservative congregation in Los Angeles, has just gotten a bracing introduction to the reality beneath the surface of efforts at “outreach” and “dialogue”: it leased its facility to a local Muslim group, only to have it host a viciously anti-Israel speaker who has refused to condemn Hamas and likened the Jewish state to National Socialist Germany. Yeah, tensions are really eased now.

Hundreds of thousands of jobs are in jeopardy following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore on Tuesday after a container ship struck one of its support pillars. [SNIP] It is unclear when the port, one of the busiest in the U.S., will be able to resume its normal operations.
Last year, The Maryland Port Administration reported that the Port of Baltimore generates around 15,300 direct jobs, with nearly 140,000 jobs overall linked to Port activities. It serves over 50 ocean carriers making nearly 1,800 annual visits.

California is dealing with a “substantial increase” in reported cases of tuberculosis, according to state health officials.
The California Department of Public Health said the state saw a 15% increase in cases of the bacterial disease last year, from 1,842 cases in 2022 to 2,113 in 2023. It’s a number that officials said hadn’t been reached since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tuberculosis is caused by a bacteria that usually attacks the lungs, but can travel through your blood and attack any part of the body such as the kidney, spine and brain, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention explained.

The crisis at the U.S. southern border is a hot-button political issue, but those who live along the border say it’s far more complex than partisan politics.
Jim Chilton and his wife Sue have lived at their ranch in Arivaca, Arizona, since 1991.
“I live here. I know what’s going on,” Jim said. [SNIP] “I haven’t seen any border patrol for 4.5 months,” Chilton said. “They're busy in Tucson processing people that have walked through here and down the road.”

For years, Donald Trump has made it abundantly clear that if he doesn’t win the 2024 presidential election, he is willing to cheat and steal it. [SNIP] Long before Trump began leading in battleground-state polling — and years before he was a declared 2024 candidate — the ex-president and many of his influential allies were already busy plotting ways to tilt the election in his favor.

A landmark report produced at the behest of the centre-right Les Républicains in the French Senate found that the medical industry embarked upon the practice of giving children life-altering transgender treatments with little evidence of its effectiveness while ignoring the side effects.
The report found that while parents were often pressured by doctors to put their children on puberty-blocking drugs to prevent suicide, there is little proof that this course of action has any better outcomes for the child.

Muslims will yet “slaughter” the Jews “like sheep” when the opportunity arises, according to a Michigan Islamic cleric who appealed to Allah. [SNIP] “Don’t worry, don’t worry, Jewish man,” he said. “One day will come, and we will slaughter you like a sheep and the stone and the tree will work… undercover for us, [saying:] ‘Hey Muslim, come, there is somebody hiding here, get up and kill him.’”
The Sheikh was apparently referencing a grisly passage in the Islamic text, known as the Hadith.

It was 1973 in Jerusalem. I was 21 years old walking through the Arab section of the Old City. I was sporting a massive afro and wearing an army jacket with the name “Elder” above the pocket, a gift from my little brother who was serving.
I heard footsteps, so I stopped, turned around, and saw about 10 smiling kids following me. I kept walking until I heard louder footsteps. I stopped, turned around, and saw maybe 20 kids following me. I kept walking until I heard even more footsteps. Now there were 50 kids. So, I stopped, turned around, and smiled, and they surrounded me.

An elderly woman has launched a $350,000 case against her Washington city and its YMCA for banning her from a swimming pool after she objected to a trans woman using its women's locker room.
Julie Jaman, 82, says Port Townsend and its Olympic Peninsula YMCA defamed her and unlawfully banned her from the center and seeks compensation for 'emotional distress' from the incident in July 2022.
Her lawyer, Harmeet Dhillon, a GOP official who heads the Center for American Liberty, this week sent the city and its YMCA a 259-page complaint, urging them to pay up and apologize or face a lawsuit.

A TikTok influencer is advising his followers on how to 'invade' American homes and invoke squatter's rights, making it difficult for them to be removed from properties.
Leonel Moreno, who goes by @leitooficial_25 online and appears to be a Venezuelan migrant, has told his followers that under US law, 'if a house is not inhabited, we can seize it'.
He is referring to squatter's rights, or adverse possession laws - a common law principle that allows an illegal inhabitant to acquire ownership of a property based on continuous occupation without the legal owner's consent.
