Power lines ignited massive wildfires across the Texas Panhandle that killed at least two people, destroyed homes and livestock, and left a charred landscape, officials said Thursday, including the largest blaze in state history. The Texas A&M Forest Service said its investigators concluded that power lines ignited both the historic Smokehouse Creek fire, which has burned nearly 1,700 square miles (4,400 square kilometers) and spilled into neighboring Oklahoma, and the nearby Windy Deuce fire, which has burned about 225 square miles (582 square kilometers). The statement did not elaborate on what led to the power lines igniting the blazes.

What an unbelievable idiot: Biden “climate envoy” John Kerry actually said that if Russia makes “a greater effort to reduce emissions,” it might “open up the door for people to feel better about what Russia is choosing to do” in its barbaric war to conquer Ukraine. Kerry’s always been a self-regarding twit, but this might be the dumbest thing any politician has said in decades (and the competition is stiff). Vladimir Putin has proved time and again that he holds all civilized norms in utter contempt; oil and gas exports are all that keep his economy afloat.

A powerful blizzard that has dumped huge amounts of snow in the Sierra Nevada mountains will continue to slam the region through Sunday, bringing more snow and damaging winds as a second “weaker” system is expected to bring additional snow Monday. The dayslong storm that has caused treacherous white-out conditions due to its hefty wind gusts has shuttered national parks, ski resorts and parts of a major California interstate. Up to 10 feet of snow was expected to slam high-elevation areas, creating a “life-threatening concern” for Lake Tahoe residents, National Weather Service meteorologist William Churchill said.

Lithium-ion batteries used in E-bikes and other electronic mobility devices are now a leading cause of fires in New York City following their popularity surged during the pandemic’s delivery boom, FDNY officials say. FDNY Chief Fire Marshal Daniel Flynn tol The Post that fires related to lithium-ion batteries have gone up nearly nine-fold since the pandemic, with more blazes related to the batteries happening in the last two months than in all of 2019. “It’s the prevalence of these e-devices on our streets, there’s way more of them now than ever before,” Flynn said.

For years, Hunter Biden and his associates have denied that the “big guy” mentioned in an email about one of the first son’s shady deals was Joe Biden, yet now Hunter’s admitted it in a congressional deposition — amid whining and crying about the political persecution he’s experiencing. Yes, he’s tried to wave it away, claiming that the email from business partner James Gilliar proposing a 10% stake for Joe was merely a “pie-in-the-sky idea.” Yes, he’s offered the lame defense that if only he had known, “I would have picked up the phone and said, ‘You’re out of your mind.’”

The Colorado college student charged with killing his roommate and another person in their dorm threatened to “kill” one of the victims weeks ago in a dispute about trash, court documents alleged. New details emerged Friday in the Feb. 16 slayings of Samuel Knopp, 24, and Delie Rain Montgomery, 26, at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. Nicholas Trevon Jordan threatened to kill Knopp on Jan. 9 as the two bickered over garbage, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by The Post. “Mr. Jordan threatened Mr. Knopp and told him that he would ‘kill him’

One person was booted from the increasingly lawless Randall’s Island tent city after a dramatic caught-on-video confrontation between NYPD officers and migrants. The chaotic scene kicked off around 11 a.m. Thursday, when police responded to reports of a man causing a disturbance at the shelter, according to authorities. “Upon arrival officers observed a male who was involved in a verbal dispute with security and acting in a disorderly fashion,” an NYPD spokesperson told The Post. “The person was removed from the premises. No injuries were reported.”

COVID vaccines from companies like Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca have been linked to rare occurrences of heart, brain and blood disorders, according to the largest vaccine study to date. Researchers from the Global Vaccine Data Network analyzed 99 million people who received jabs in eight countries and monitored for increases in 13 medical conditions, Bloomberg News reported. The study, which was published in the journal Vaccine last week, found the vaccines were linked to a slight spike in neurological, blood and heart-related medical conditions.

A question an increasing number of voters are asking these days is a perfectly reasonable one: Who the hell is running the country right now? In looking at President Biden’s schedule just last week alone, the answer to that basic question is as clear as Jersey’s swamps: On Tuesday, the 81-year-old delivered brief remarks on the Senate’s passage of a supplemental agreement. When reporters attempted to ask questions afterward, Biden said he had to run but promised to take questions Wednesday or Thursday. That never happened, of course, and not because Biden had a stacked itinerary to contend with.

Charles Barkley never pulls any punches when it comes to what he thinks of San Francisco and its inhabitants. The NBA legend and TNT basketball host and analyst likely won’t be planning any vacations to the city anytime soon. Barkley was speaking with polarizing Warriors forward Draymond Green and ex-Pacers star Reggie Miller, now an NBA analyst as well, on TNT’s alternate broadcast during the NBA All-Star game Sunday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana. During the broadcast, Green said, “Hey Reggie we love you, let’s not have another All-Star [game] in Indiana. Let’s let this be the last one, my friend.”

Two teen students died at New York University just two days apart, according to police. Last Thursday, 19-year-old student Jacqueline Beauzile was found unconscious and unresponsive at Lipton Hall, which typically houses freshmen, cops said. EMS responders arrived and pronounced the Hempstead, N.Y., teen dead at the scene. Two days later, the body of 18-year-old student Doreah Salti was discovered outside the school’s Barney Building on Stuyvesant Street, which is home to the art department, police said. Salti, of Hinsdale, Ill., was found around 7:30 p.m. unconscious with severe trauma to her body indicating she had jumped or fallen, cops said.

FTA: "The statement did not elaborate on what led to the power lines igniting the blazes." But I'll tell you what caused the power lines to ignite - - Climate Change! As John Kerry said - - if the Russkies did more about their emissions - - these things would NOT happen!
