The following is a public service announcement from PJ Media.
Be it known that on Sunday, March 10 at 2 a.m., Daylight Saving Time will come into effect for most of the United States. You must move all clocks one hour ahead, according to the instructions issued to you when you were a child.
Remember: "Spring Forward, Fall Back" with the word "Spring" referring to the season, not jumping like a kangaroo, and the word "Fall" also referring to the season and not something we might expect Joe Biden to do while walking up the steps to Air Force 1.
Most of our watches and clocks are digital

For goodness sake, go to bed an hour earlier. It was Ben Franklin’s genius…

I love DST.
I can't understand the grouchy folks that get all cranked up about it.

From all the whining about daylight savings time, I guess I'm just different because I love daylight savings time. Just keep daylight savings time all year round.

If they're going to eliminate it, just go back top standard time.
They tried that silly full time DST in 1974 and everyone hated it. It only lasted nine months before it was repealed.
Permanent daylight saving time makes already late winter sunrises one hour later. The sun wouldn’t rise before 8 a.m. in where I live near Charleston WV for almost four months, between November and the end of February. The latest sunrise would happen at 8:43 am.
The farther north you go the later it would rise.
Just stick with standard time.

I don't care which one--standard or "daylight savings"--just pick one and stick with it. Is it really worth the increased risk of heart attacks and car accidents to "get extra daylight"? One of the best things about living in Arizona was NOT changing the dang clock twice a year.

Title reflects my feelings.
Although this change doesn't bother me as much as when it goes the other way.

We don't need any daylight savings time in Texas. Come on down for July 4th and see how much more sun you would like.

Time to re-look at any perceived benefits of DST.
Many people don't think it is worth the effort.

I read somewhere that only the government can cut a foot of fabric off the end of a blanket, sew it to the other end, and make you believe you have a longer blanket.
This was always a bad idea. It should be ended.

It's not nice to fool Mother Nature. I suspect that the same people who think a man can become a woman believe that 5 a.m. can become 6 a.m. just because they say so. LOL

I'm for standard time year-round. I'm especially annoyed at the people who thing we actually get an extra hour of daylight during DST.

I prefer Standard Time. An ''extra hour'' of sunlight is simply not needed in June, July, and August. We get more than enough sunshine already.

An Indian once said 'Only a white man would cut two inches from the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and think he now has a longer blanket'.

Pretty simple, get rid of it.
However we are stuck with DST, simply because of the extra hour of retail sales after work.

This is for the perpetual gripers -and perhaps the occasional real dullards- among us in the L-Dotter world.
The length of daylight varies through the year as a sine wave. (You DO know what a sine wave is, don't you? If not, look it up!)
In the northern hemisphere, the sun rises earlier and sets later in the summertime, and rises later and sets earlier in the wintertime. This effect is more pronounced the farther north one is located. Anyone who disagrees needs to turn off their TV, computer or 'phone, go outside and look at the sky once in a while.
Designating 'Standard Time' and 'Daylight Savings Time' and setting clocks ahead one hour in the springtime and setting clocks back one hour in the fall, is a rough method to coordinate the beginning of the standard 8-hour work day and school day with sunrise.
I was in high school when the geniuses listened to the time-change gripers and proclaimed "Year-Round Daylight Savings Time!". It was not well received. Particularly farther north, everyone had to get up and get going to work in the dark. Schoolchildren, including first-graders, had to go out and wait for the school bus in the pre-dawn darkness, the coldest hour of the day on the coldest days of the year. Not a good situation.
With year-round Standard time, people who work regular 'day shift' work hours, as well as school kids, have to wait an hour or two after the sun comes up before they can begin their work day, when the vast majority would rather get going earlier so that they can get off work earlier and have more daylight hours to enjoy at home after their work or school day is over.
Making the Fall clock shift an hour later has the workers and school kids going to work or school in the winter DAYLIGHT.
Making the Springtime clock shift an hour earlier has workers and school kids going to work or school in the early daylight, not having to waste an hour of daylight waiting for the work or school day to start.
Enough of the 'cutting and sewing the blanket' nonsense.
Everyone knows what's going on. Who do you think you are, anyway? Democ'RATS?
Quit Griping, Set your Clock, and Get with the Program!
