Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) on Thursday argued President Biden is a “dithering and diminished” leader who is taking the U.S. down a worrisome path.
Delivering the GOP response to Biden’s State of the Union from her own kitchen table, the freshman senator laid into the president for the border, crime, the economy and his work on the international stage. “President Biden just doesn’t get it. He’s out of touch. Under his administration, families are worse off, our communities are less safe and our country is less secure,” she said from her home in Montgomery, Ala. “I just wish he understood what real families are facing around kitchen tables

Yep, "dithering and diminished" and a FOOL! A dangerous combination for anything, muchless President. His speech, the content and the manner, just reinforces that he needs to go! Trump 24 MAGA

Britt is reading a speech someone else wrote for her.
The truth is, in the decades I've been voting, except for maybe the Reagan years, the Republican Party has squandered every chance they've been given to truly make a difference. These SOTU rebuttals are nothing but theater for them.

And the Vegetable's SOTU speech wasn't theater? Yeah, he's hard at work saving the American People, and just took a few minutes off to speak to us from the heart.

Saw Britts rebuttal. Thought she spoke to families, at least she showed some empathy. More rhetoric isn't going to change anything. Guess I'm sick and tired of all the Kabuki Theater.

Never a fan of former Sen Rick Santorum (R-PA) but I think he has a touch of TDS. He was on the Newsmax morning show today and very critical of Sen. Britt's counter speech. I did not watch her speech or the SOTU - have only seen bits. Per Ricky - she was too performative. WTH?
Please Newsmax, can't you find other analysts besides dinosaurs like Santorum, Barney Frank and Ellis Hennican?

@5, I got the same reaction as Santorum. Overly dramatic and emotional and as another poster noted, probably written for her and so she was acting it out. It seemed aimed at fragile, emotional female fence sitters and didn't register well with me. She stated facts but the delivery had a democrat style emotional component to it. If that was the target audience she nailed it but I had some cringe moments watching and listening to it.

In the very few minutes I watched the SOTU, my biggest impression was his appearance. Instead of his usual ashen, clueless look, his complexion as he entered the gallery looked like a mummy I saw as a kid. It was found in a peat bog in Denmark and looked like shiny leather.

Britt's speech didn't grab me either. It's wonderful she was elected at age 40 and has kids named Ridgeway and Bennett. But I wanted a point-by-point rebuttal of Biden's blathering.

And while Miss Katie is blathering about old Joe's anger fest, her DH is knee deep in lobbying in Alabama. Posted above: https://1819news.com/news/item/wesley-britt-joins-lobbying-firm-in-montgomery

Two additional points. Santorum has been reliably critical of Trump for things he has no control over: all the indictments. I don't think Trump selected Britt to give the counter speech, but Santorum just never seems to want to give any credit to Trump for any of his successes.
Did watch some portions of Britt's speech and I have to agree - it was a bit overly emotional. I thought at one point she was going to cry. I guess she was to appeal all those suburban women who hate Trump's personality.
BTW - I've been hearing today by various pundits that she might be on Trump's short list for VP. Seriously?

I tuned in to Fox halfway through her speech. Didn't care for what I heard. It wasn't the substance which was fine. it was her delivery. She got way too emotional. There were moments where I thought she was about to burst into tears. I had to cut away after awhile. Perhaps the GOP should audition responders the next time they have to do this. Picking the youngest senator to contrast against senile, doped-up Joe was too cutesy and didn't work like they wanted to.

I thought Britt did fine; a little change-up from what I expected but since Biden did ugly and angry, Britt was a contrast that I believe will help Republicans defeat democrats. With some "seasoning", I think she'll improve, as her emotional delivery was intended to appeal to what I consider niche voters, whose votes could go either way. I'd rather they vote Republican to rid our country of democrat control of the WH and Congress. Reagan once appealed to such voters, including some wobbly democrats, but didn't pander to them, once he was in office.

Her talk sounded like one of those cable TV commercials for donations to the ASPCA with the sad eyed puppies or the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
