A United Airlines flight rolled off the runway at a Houston airport Friday morning, the airline said in a statement. The Boeing 737 plane had landed at George Bush Intercontinental Airport around 8 a.m. when it rolled onto the grass as it exited the runway for the gate, United and Houston Airports and Houston Spaceport said in separate statements. The flight, which left from Memphis International Airport, had 160 passengers and six crew members on board. Passengers deplaned on the taxiway and were bused to the terminal. No one on board was injured.

Not the Planes fault...Driver error, not even a Pilot at that point, he's driving slowly on concrete. That wheel falling off? Almost HAS to be a mechanic that screwed up...though Pilot is supposed to do a walk around.

Why is this news, other than maybe local? Just so they can blame Boeing and the 737's.

I believe they've had a bit of rain in the Houston area, so perhaps the plane got stuck in mud.

Interesting. The original report said the landing gear collapsed. Oops, that wasn't in the latest story. They also didn't explain that the crew requested to go to the end of the runway to get closer to their gate, and ATC told them to keep their speed up because another flight was on short final behind them. It's likely they overdid the speed and couldn't make the turn or skidded on the wet runway. Boeing had nothing to do with any of this.

‘I Did Not Sanitize’: Special Counsel

Special counsel Robert Hur will defend on Tuesday the observations he made about President Joe Biden’s memory in his final report on the investigation into Biden’s handling of classified materials. Ahead of his testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, Hur will deliver an opening statement, obtained by National Review, addressing criticisms of his decision to comment on Biden’s apparent memory lapses in his report, explaining that the commentary was necessary to explain why he didn’t believe Biden should be charged with willfully retaining classified documents, even though he had determined that the president did in fact knowingly retain such material.

U.S. intelligence agencies are claiming that they “expect” protests to bring down the Israeli government and replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been an obstacle to President Joe Biden’s plans for the Middle East. The claim emerged in the latest “Annual Threat Assessment of the U.S. Intelligence Community,” and was published by both the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times Monday evening, suggesting a coordinated leak to the media. The assessment says: Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has publicly stated his opposition to postwar diplomacy with the Palestinian Authority (PA) toward territorial compromise. Remember when progressives in Florida sought to use lawfare to take down Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act? It appears that their efforts were all for naught. In a settlement announced Monday, the State of Florida and the plaintiffs challenging the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law have come to an agreement that seeks to balance the educational policy with the rights of LGBTQ individuals. The lawsuit has concluded with both parties agreeing to clarifications designed to mitigate concerns over discrimination and censorship. The state of Florida settled a multi-year suit Monday against the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law, which limits how LGBTQ topics can be discussed and presented in schools.
Biden’s DOA Budget 3 replies

Joe Biden unveiled his 2025 budget proposal earlier today. In general, presidents’ budgets are hardly worth discussing. They project revenue and spending over the next ten years, and if you go back and look at them a few years later, they usually bear no relation to reality. And, in this instance, there is zero chance that Congress will pass anything resembling Biden’s budget, which can best be seen as a campaign document. But, for what it is worth, this is what the Wall Street Journal had to say about it: President Biden proposed Monday a $7.3 trillion budget for the next fiscal year that would raise taxes on wealthy people and

For about a year, I learned foreign languages with Duolingo. I spent extensive time working on Spanish and Japanese, and I dabbled in Welsh, Hebrew, and Italian. Duolingo is an effective and often fun way of learning a new language, despite some annoyances. For starters, Duolingo likes to send way too many notifications. Almost every day without fail, I would get a notification before 7:30 in the morning calling me out for not already spending hours on the app. But there was another thing I noticed early on about Duolingo: there was an awful lot of gayness in the lessons and exercises. I wrote about it last May:

FBI Director Christopher Wray, along with other government officials, has once again raised the alarm over a sophisticated human smuggling network with direct ties to the Islamic State bringing illegal immigrants and asylum seekers over the southern border. This network, which was initially undetected, could pose a dire threat to national security. During a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on Monday, Wray discussed an investigation into this network when information surfaced related to individuals from Uzbekistan and other nations who were aided by a smuggler who was tied to ISIS. The revelation was deemed critical enough to include in President Joe Biden’s top cabinet officials’ morning briefings.

The fiscal year 2025 budget — which is highly unlikely to be approved by Congress — matches last year’s topline tax increase level and spends $300 billion more while purportedly cutting the federal deficit by $3 trillion over the next 10 years, the White House said on Monday.
