WSJ: ‘Addiction’ to Migration Cuts
Americans’ Productivity

Original Article

Corporate and government “addiction” to migration is damaging the productivity that raises personal incomes and overall national wealth, say economists cited in a report Monday by the Wall Street Journal. “Increased reliance on low-skilled imported labor can lead to weaker productivity growth, which ultimately determines how fast economies can expand,” the newspaper wrote on March 4. The article cited two dairy farmers in Wisconsin. One farmer favors cheap labor supplied by the government’s unofficial illegal migrant program. The second farmer, however, invested in robot cow-milking devices:

The addiction is being suffered by the US Government that desperately needs millions more new voters because most of the current democrat voters have gotten wise to them. The cost in productivity is the millions of people being fed and housed for "free" which only serves to draw more squirrels.

I encounter these illegals in factories throughout the Upper Midwest. Most speak no English. Guatemalans, many of whom speak Mayan dialects, can't communicate adequately in Spanish. I don't know how any work gets done.

First off, I'm against slavery! And that is what this is. I also reject 'demographic destiny' as such. Secondly, hiring illegals and paying them peasant wages off the books for substandard results is not cost effective. Higher productivity means more profits which can be realized by using ITCs to innovate. This could be done, but it will need some strong communication and incentives. We cannot afford the welfare, healthcare, retirement, and degradation of our Society. Then we can be magnanimous. Perhaps 'newcomers' would speak our language (or be literate in their own) and not be granted the 'privilege' of being here if they have nothing to add to our Society.

This is quite a seismic change from the WSJs usual "cheap fungible labor is our salvation" philosophy. Somebody got mugged by reality or a dreamer...

Common sense will tell you that as long as Biden’s so-called open borders scam remains in place that allows unlimited numbers of Third World origin poor, uneducated, and welfare dependent illegals aliens into the USA for partisan political purposes, like permanently changing the ethnic, political, and racial population demographics of the USA to what Biden and the progressive Democrats believe will be to their permanent partisan political favor, that USA productivity will go down. Since there are billions of such Third World origin people around the World who would like to come to the USA you can see where this is headed as long as Biden and the Democrats remain in political power.

Without migrants the minimum wage would be at least $50 / hr. and guess what things would cost?

The decline in the quality of citizens lives isn't worth the cheaper cost of goods and services these invaders might bring. They are not migrants.

It's not like this was a secret or something you couldn't have figured out for yourself, still it's sort of revealing when Democrats say the quiet part out loud. I'm talking specifically about a new Thomas Edsall column in the NY Times titled "'This Could Well Be Game Over.'" The game in this case is the 2024 election and the over refers to Joe Biden's chances of winning it if Donald Trump isn't convicted of a serious crime prior to November. “Early on, I called the federal election subversion case potentially the most important case in this nation’s history,” Richard L. Hasen, a law professor at U.C.L.A.,

Any voter who listened to a stump speech from former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley during her primary campaign against Donald Trump -- which she just ended -- was likely to hear a variation of one message: The former president can't win in November because he's been losing a notable minority of Republican voters. "He lost 40% of the primary vote in all of the early states," she said last week at a campaign rally in Minnesota. "You can't win the general election if you can't win that 40% [back]." Haley was exaggerating. For example, in the 15 GOP states that voted on Super Tuesday, she has gotten less than 20%

President Joe Biden on Wednesday quickly maneuvered to court Nikki Haley's supporters moments after she ended her presidential campaign against Donald Trump, with his team projecting confidence they will be able to sway some of the former governor's supporters as the race pivots toward the general election. "Donald Trump made it clear he doesn't want Nikki Haley's supporters," Biden said in a statement Wednesday. "I want to be clear: There is a place for them in my campaign." "I know there is a lot we won't agree on," the president continued, adding, "I hope and believe we can find common ground" on the "fundamental issues" of preserving democracy and NATO, standing

Haley voters are up for grabs. Who wants them more - Donald Trump or Joe Biden? That's the question today. Nikki Haley suspended her campaign today. "I have no regrets," she said as she delivered a short speech to supporters. She did not endorse Donald Trump. I didn't anticipate that she would do that today. That may change down the road, we'll have to wait and see. She did offer her congratulations to Trump and wished him well. Haley liked to say that her campaign was not all about her, that it was not personal. She said she was running for the sake of America.

The House on Wednesday approved a package of six spending bills, sending the legislation to the Senate days ahead of Friday’s partial government shutdown deadline. The “minibus” — which funds a slew of programs and agencies through the end of fiscal 2024 — cleared the House in an 339-85 vote, with 207 Democrats and 132 Republicans throwing their support behind the measure. The 1,050-page package calls for more than $450 billion in funding for the departments of Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Interior, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Justice, Commerce and Energy.

Washington — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has openly criticized former President Donald Trump for years, endorsed him for president on Wednesday, one day after Trump's slew of victories on Super Tuesday brought him closer to the GOP nomination. "It should come as no surprise that as nominee, he will have my support," McConnell said, noting that during Trump's first term, the two leaders worked together to "accomplish great
