The Hysteria of Climate Activists is Turning Violent

Original Article

The tactics of climate activists are changing, no longer satisfied with throwing tomato soup on Vincent Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" in October and pumpkin soup on the mysterious lady portrayed in da Vinci's "Mona Lisa." In January, activists showed up at the National Archives and decided to pour red powder on the display case holding the U.S. Constitution. Archives security stood by while these nutcases ranted on and on about the evil U.S. and how EVERYONE IS GOING TO DIE!! unless we stop using our cars and don't go to work anymore IMMEDIATELY. Finally, the DC police showed up and hauled them off to jail. If they thought they were going

These vandals ought to be crowned, and not with a royal diadem.

Crazed 'religious' zealots. They buy the lies, and are (stupidly) convinced that the world will literally be ending if we don't make drastic changes. They are wrong, they are nuts, but they are certain. This makes them dangerous, physically dangerous. They have already been doing sabotage against logging and construction. What next? I wouldn't be surprised by anything that these nutcases might do.

They've lost the argument - - only a handful of cultists still believe the crap - - and so they are desperate - - not to prove a point - - because they know they can't - - but - - like a criminal cornered in an alleyway - - they want to go out in a blaze of what they think is glory. Losers - - pathetic losers.

Why is archive security being paid to do a job and they stand there and let the damage happen? I'm guessing affirmative action or patronage employees. Who do they think they are, NYPD? The two snowflakes should have been shot for attempting to deface valuable historical documents.

The far-left website The Intercept was very excited on Friday about CNN being accused in an internal meeting of having a "pronounced pro-Israel bias." Actual pro-Israel media watchdogs like CAMERA would disagree. The headline? "In internal meeting, Christiane Amanpour Confronts CNN Brass About 'Double Standards' on Israel Coverage Amanpour expressed 'real distress' over Israel stories being changed, while other staffers described a climate that is hostile to Arab journalists." In an hourlong meeting with CNN boss Mark Thompson and other executives in the London bureau on February 13, "staffers took turns questioning a panel of executives about CNN’s protocols for covering the war in Gaza and what they describe as a hostile climate

Thus far, 2024 has not been a banner year if you want to be employed as a journalist in the mainstream media. January featured layoffs at the Los Angeles Times, Sports Illustrated, Time, National Geographic, and Business Insider. Downsizing at cable news networks, usually unheard of in an election year, continues, and even National Public Radio has cut staff. Many longtime reporters at places such as the Washington Post have taken buyouts as the newspaper struggles to restructure its business model. Jack Shafer of Politico captured the current mood well: “Journalists across the country burst into flames of panic this week, as bad news for the news business crested

One scarcely knows where to begin in documenting the errors, scandals, and misadventures of Justin Trudeau’s Liberal regime. The problem is, one scarcely knows where to end. The outrages just keep on coming. Trudeau has come in for much caustic criticism of late, as a growing number of ordinary citizens and the independent media have expressed their justified suspicion and resentment of an overbearing and increasingly despotic administration. The issues at stake are features, not bugs. The list of noxious measures, lapses, and deeds that tarnish Trudeau’s record include: the selling-out of Canada’s national identity the daunting number of scandals and ethics violations the many vacations on the public dime

Democrats are in an outright state of panic following the latest poll from the New York Times and Siena College. As RedState reported, Donald Trump leads Joe Biden by five points, with the results clocking in at 48 to 43 percent. Driving the current president's woes is his deep unpopularity, which sits at -21 percent. (X) This isn't just some random poll. This is the Times' largest and longest-running effort every cycle and the survey that its election analysts use to base their predictions. The topline number isn't the only one that's shocking either. Trump's overall lead is built on big gains with minority voters and women, two demographics

I understood from the Star Tribune headline over the AP story yesterday that the IDF had massacred some 100 Gazans seeking food and water. As of this morning, the AP is sticking with the story with a Rafah dateline. It leads with this observation: “Israeli troops fired on a crowd of Palestinians racing to pull food off an aid convoy in Gaza City on Thursday, witnesses said.” I’m not sure about the massacre. Deep into the story we hear from the ever reliable “Gaza Health Ministry.” The AP reports: “At least 112 people were killed, Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra said. The ministry described it as a ‘massacre’

It's officially unofficial that Presidentish Joe Biden will make an unannounced visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center now that the announcement has been made by the White House. Literally every lead sentence I write at the top of a story about Biden is more absurd than the previous one — and we still have at least 10 more months of this nonsense to go. Some — such as yours truly and the not-awful members of the White House Press Corpse [sic] (and I'm looking at you, Peter Doocy) — are more concerned with the alleged president's cognitive health than we are about his physical health.

Following the surprisingly strong finish by "Uncommitted" in Tuesday's Michigan Democrat primary, the author and activist released a video statement on Twitter/X. In it, she said, "As of today, I am unsuspending my campaign for the president of the United States... Things ain’t looking that good. Nothing seems to be working in the so-called free world: rubbish in the streets, vandalism and violent crime, illegal immigration at record levels, no-go areas in towns and cities; is this why we pay taxes and call ourselves free? Mass shootings have become a way of life in America, illegal underage migrants are turning New York and Chicago into war zones, and Joe Biden is given a pass by an enabling and compliant media that has made the profession of journalism lower than that of the oldest profession. Even Donald Tusk is not playing fair. He’s trampling Polish democracy

People around the world are increasingly realizing that “green” energy is actually black–as in blackouts. Thus, in today’s Telegraph: “The UK is much closer to blackouts than anyone dares to admit.” "We are heading for a big electricity crunch as it is. Whoever wins the general election, the next government will be committed to decarbonising the National Grid – by 2035 in the case of the Conservatives and by 2030 in the case of Labour. That means either closing all the gas power stations or fitting them with carbon capture and storage technology – which does not yet exist on scale in Britain and whose costs are likely to be massive.

President Biden spoke at the Governors Ball Dinner in the State Dining Room at the White House on Saturday evening (video excerpt below). The White House has posted the transcript of his brief remarks here. After the introductory blather, Biden referred to the portrait of Abraham Lincoln behind him — you can see it here — as he attempted to follow his text. This is how the White House transcript of the fourth paragraph reads: "And, you know, standing here in front of this portrait of the man behind me here, he — he said — and I want to make sure I get the quote exactly right. Pope Francis said Sunday that military disarmament is not optional but constitutes a “moral obligation” for all nations. Following his weekly Angelus address in Saint Peter’s Square, the pontiff recalled that March 5 marks the second International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness. “How many resources are wasted on military expenditure, which, because of the current situation, sadly continues to increase!” he told the estimated 20,000 tourists and pilgrims gathered in the square. (snip) Francis is also the only pope to ever declare that not only the use of nuclear weapons, but also their mere possession “is immoral.”

Despite her early losses, Haley has said she would remain in the race at least through those contests, although she has declined to name any primary she felt confident she would win. This week all eyes were on the Willis-Wade fiasco in Fulton County, Georgia, but three less smuttily scintillating cases seem at last to be limiting the overreach of the Department of Justice respecting the J6 defendants and Jack Smith’s persecution of President Donald Trump. In interpreting criminal statutes, it seems to me that Courts should not be creative and expansively read into them things that the legislature which writes the laws did not clearly proscribe as illegal, and it appears that finally, courts higher than the highly partisan D.C. Circuit judges understand that.

A powerful blizzard that has dumped huge amounts of snow in the Sierra Nevada mountains will continue to slam the region through Sunday, bringing more snow and damaging winds as a second “weaker” system is expected to bring additional snow Monday. The dayslong storm that has caused treacherous white-out conditions due to its hefty wind gusts has shuttered national parks, ski resorts and parts of a major California interstate. Up to 10 feet of snow was expected to slam high-elevation areas, creating a “life-threatening concern” for Lake Tahoe residents, National Weather Service meteorologist William Churchill said.
