The U.S. and the U.K. conducted new strikes on Houthi rebels in Yemen Saturday, continuing their response to the Iran-backed groups’ attacks on cargo ships in the Red Sea. American and British fighter jets hit 18 sites in multiple locations in Yemen, according to officials who spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press. The attacks targeted eight locations, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed in a statement Saturday. The new strikes targeted drones, launchers, unmanned underwater vehicles and rockets. It is a continuation of the strikes by the U.S. military that have been hitting Houthi targets consistently for the past few weeks.

The Houthis are very primitive folks, in order to make them stop attacking passing ships in the Red Sea, at least one of two things must happen, either Iran stops sending advanced weapons to the Houthis, or the Houthis who are attacking those ships are all dead.

I'd be more impressed and convinced there will be no more trouble from a bunch of terrorists interfering in international business if mushroom clouds were raising up from Yemen. This would also send the proper message to Iran and others that we're done with their BS.

To the chorus of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts' raucous '80s pop hit, "I Love Rock 'n' Roll," former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley reached the podium on the 2024 Republican primary night in the state she calls home. The still-strong crowd of supporters began to chant her first name, to which Haley said with a note of affection on what must be a difficult night to remain upbeat, "Y'all are a rowdy bunch, but I love that about you." As we reported earlier, Haley lost the primary, in the state where she served as governor, to former President Donald Trump: Haley began her speech by thanking her family,

An Israeli delegation of top security officials returned from talks in Paris on Saturday as reports spread of growing hope in Jerusalem that a new hostage release deal with Hamas could be within reach. Israel’s war cabinet was conferring by telephone on Saturday evening to discuss the emerging “outline of an agreement,” described by an Israeli official cited widely in media as a “basis on which to build a plan and the principles for negotiations.” “There’s significant progress and a solid basis for discussions,” the official said. At the same time, an Israeli official told The Times of Israel that while there was optimism in Israeli media

Joe Biden may be trying to revive his presidency by bringing out his inner "Dark Brandon," but according to all the polls the American people aren't buying it one little bit. It's just any poll. It's every poll. Including the granddaddy of them all, Gallup, which just released its new numbers on Biden's ratings with the voters, and the news is simply devastating. WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Americans’ approval of President Joe Biden’s job performance has edged down three percentage points to 38%, just one point shy of his all-time low and well below the 50% threshold that has typically led to reelection for incumbents. In addition, Biden registers subpar approval ratings

A jury found Wayne LaPierre and the National Rifle Association liable in a New York state civil corruption trial Friday, ruling that LaPierre misappropriated millions of dollars when he was NRA chief executive officer to finance a lavish lifestyle while the gun-rights organization neglected proper financial management. After five days of deliberations, the jury held that LaPierre cost the NRA $5.4 million, even accounting for the $1 million he had previously repaid. The trial in the lawsuit brought by New York attorney general Letitia James in 2020 came after a three-year investigation into the NRA, which is registered as a nonprofit organization in New York.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — A private U.S. lunar lander tipped over at touchdown and ended up on its side near the moon’s south pole, hampering communications, company officials said Friday. Intuitive Machines initially believed its six-footed lander, Odysseus, was upright after Thursday’s touchdown. But CEO Steve Altemus said Friday the craft “caught a foot in the surface,” falling onto its side and, quite possibly, leaning against a rock. He said it was coming in too fast and may have snapped a leg. “So far, we have quite a bit of operational capability even though we’re tipped over,” he told reporters.

I spent much of my professional life in radio. One of the great things about being at a smaller station is that programmers are pretty much given a free hand, so long as they don't blatantly violate Broadcast Standards and Practices. That allowed me to create a killer talk lineup that consisted at times of Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura, Sean Hannity, Bruce Williams, Phil Hendrie, and, of course, the great Art Bell. And I got to design and create local programming that included my own show. I was also tasked with hiring broadcast staff, including board operators and reporters. At the time, Utah was still mostly white

New York — The digital media revolution is over. Its two leaders, Vice Media and BuzzFeed , are in a frenetic retreat, surrendering much of their online empires as they try to protect what remains of their core assets. Having once threatened to upend the entire industry and usher in a new era of news distribution and monetization, the former digital media darlings are now merely attempting to survive in any form they can. As they retreat, their large newsrooms once filled with rows of journalists are now shutting off the lights and closing their doors. BuzzFeed, already slimmed down after several waves of layoffs, announced this week

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented his plan for “the day after” Hamas is defeated in Gaza to his Cabinet on Thursday, calling for local officials without links to terrorism to run the government, and Israel to exercise military control. The plan does not explicitly rule out a role for the Palestinian Authority (PA), which governs Palestinian communities in the West Bank; nor does it include a Palestinian state, leaving that issue for future bilateral talks. It is deliberately vague on these points. Netanyahu’s goal in leaving those contentious issues undefined appears to be to satisfy the demands of the Biden administration on the one hand,

First, California came for plastic straws. It did nothing meaningful for the environment, but it made lawmakers feel good — albeit at the expense of consumers. Guess what it will do to your wallet, Californians? According to The Center Square, a conservative publication, Democrat Sen. Catherine Blakespear, who represents a district in the San Diego suburbs, has introduced Senate Bill 1167, which would require chain restaurants to stop using paper or plastic single-use beverage cups.

It doesn’t work. So, we have to reduce emissions from the food system.” What a dilemma. If we feed people, we will continue to warm the planet. If we continue to warm the planet, billions will die in 100 years from global warming because of the food we are eating now.
