Dozens of Chicago high schools that continue to employ school-resource officers to protect students and staff from violence will no longer be allowed to do so under a plan coming before the far-left city’s education board this week.
The “Resolution to Create a Comprehensive Whole School Safety Policy,” which is on the board’s Thursday meeting agenda, would prohibit the 39 city schools that continue to utilize school-resource officers from continuing to do so next school year.
If approved, the resolution would direct Chicago Public School leaders to develop “a holistic approach to school safety at every District school” that “addresses root causes” of violence, and that focuses on “restorative justice”

Yep, because we all know the one thing every feral violent gang banger respects is "a holistic approach to school safety"!!!!! //sarcasm off
I give it about 2 months of deaths and destruction at those schools before the schools are begging for the cops to return!!!!

Coming from the far-left education board. That can't be good. Exactly all the wrong buzzwords. Poor children.

One wonders why the people of Chicago don’t rise up and throw every elected and appointed city official in to Lake Michigan. Far, far off-shore.
(They are likely to replace them with the same ilk at the next election,)

It's "alleged" by the social justice warriors that Chicago police target minority students for discipline, noting that black and Latino students make up the vast majority of the city’s student body.
Just how many NON-black and NON-Latino students are attending these teenage-warehouses. ANY? For God's sake, they're TARGETING each other.
I say pull out the cops and allow the kids to target each other. 75% of them are illiterate after 12 years. They have NO future as it is so let them "discipline" themselves.

These leftists hate cops and soldiers so much that they haven't a clue why crime, violence, and wars skyrocket when those who protect us are removed and no one is punished for what they do. The last time inner city safety was successfully addressed was during Mayor Giuliani's Broken Windows and Stop and Frisk policing in New York City. Minorities hated being targeted but maybe if they weren't the group committing damn near all the crime, they wouldn't have had to be. I get the hatred of arrests for 'driving while Black' but if Blacks policed themselves, then the rest of us might lighten up.

Why the rush to pull cops out of the school when that's not what parents want? The ordered “Resolution to Create a Comprehensive Whole School Safety Policy" may or may not work. It's irresponsible to remove the protection for students and staff BEFORE the "policy" is tested to see if it works. What a shabby way to treat parents and their children.

“The truth is, it’s not even a question anymore between right and left. It is normal vs. crazy.” Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Amen and amen to that. The insanity level in this country is off the charts. This is a notice to all those illegal criminals invading the country. Just storm a Chicago school and do whatever the hell you want. The stupid walk among us. God help us.

What Chicago parent with a choice in the matter would send his kid to a public (goobermint) school?

So, they've fixed all the problems that necessitated the police to be there in the first place, and now they just need a fairy god-mother (I'm quite aware all three of those identifiers are not allowed) to keep everyone happy. Good luck wit dat.

As the article explains, the schools were already cajoled and offered extra funding to dismiss the officers, but a few schools, clearly assessing their own needs, insisted on maintaining them.
Now those holdout schools will be punished.
The "holistic" "comprehensive" language is blather, but "restorative justice" is not: it means open season on political and ethnic and racial opponents.
This is similar to past demands that "disparate impact" of schools suspensions be erased (such as in schools where I myself worked many years). So overnight, via memo, there were no more suspensions. Problem solved. Of course discipline and scores went downhill in a handbasket, but it's well to remember that education is NOT the objective here, nor is safety, as in "Whole School Safety Policy." It's ideology.
It's hard to conceive of or understand what this means, what the motivation is, mostly because we are wired by a lifetime of experience to expect good intentions from such leaders whatever their principals. They may be wrong, or make mistakes, but they have good intentions. I no longer believe that's true.
The parents need to escape. Will "restorative justice" and "holistic" approaches will make their children safer and smarter?
I believe the parents still there are stuck there. Here's a thought: Maybe TX Gov. Abbott should consider swapping busloads of illegal immigrants for busloads of aggrieved families. That's an expensive proposition, I warrant, but those families are legitimate asylum seekers within our borders.

The city of Chicago will try to identify the root causes? Everyone already knows the root causes -- unmarried mothers, fathers who are in prison, no respect for authority, the normalization of selling drugs, the disdain for education, the dependence on government for all of their needs, no work ethic, the culture of entitlement and victimhood, and rap music which is rotting souls and minds.

There is not a single student that this policy helps. The good kids will be in a far less safe environment, and the thugs will now be on a steeper path to failure as an adult citizen. Let me guess. Individual teachers hate the idea, but their union is all for it.

Every time I hear the term "Holistic Approach" I wanna throw up! You gotta know some low-life commie doesn't like what's good and working!
They complain the Black and Latino students receive most of the policing... Maybe because they commit the majority of the crime.
As an aside the NBA reported that in every case of assault on the courts this year (100%) of the time, it was a Black player attacking a white player. That's what is being taught in America's High Schools.

I guess the gun free shooting ranges are open in the Chicago public school system. In which the city, according to what I have heard, has the toughest gun laws and ranks pretty high on the FBI gun murder per capita list.
