I wish I could say it’s a proper market correction because people were tired of their lies and fake news narratives being published, but it’s not. It might partially be due to that, but the ad bubble burst, and those days will never return. The liberal media is bleeding all over, with some newsrooms being decimated over revenue issues. As Axios wrote this morning, it’s a “bloodbath.” We saw the first signs of this in the early 2010s when news outlets began curbing local beats. Again, the gravy train was at its high point then, so most companies probably thought they could tread water, shifting all

The $$ billions $$ in narrative control must be drying up as Trump is dominating across the board.
Lets hope some of the fired expose all the corruption in the industry.

The Legacy Media have failed at their job of informing us, and now must lose their jobs for having failed so badly. I won't be sorry to see vestiges of the MSM "fall by the wayside," as Newt once said. If they stay in business, the USA continues to decline rapidly. These faux journalists could always learn to code, which is what Obama told coal miners whose jobs he wanted to eliminate a decade and a half ago.

We should all chip in to buy a nice set of kitchen knives to help with the slicing & dicing.
This media RIF will be no big loss because besides being progressive propagandists, many in the media are idiots as well. There will simply be less screeching in the echo chamber.

Way back in the day, I worked for a local regional newspaper chain. It was late 80s, early 90s. Even back then, cable had made "news" old news. By the time it got to print and distributed, it had been covered already. The only thing that local papers had going for them was local news. And the diehard liberals in charge insisted they could compete with the national chains by running AP stories and ignoring the local news. Last I heard, it's down to one paper, which is a once-weekly tabloid sized bunch of ads with some high school sports in it.

Now let’s make it happen to CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC and the rest of them.
The article states that these print/internet outlets are drowning. Rather than knives, #4, how about we throw them a bunch of anvils?

The news outlets that are still surviving are being propped up by leftist and government dollars, not the people. If not for multi-billionaire Bezos, the Washington Post would be just a memory. Customers of Amazon are keeping that propaganda rag going. The millions of dollars supporting the New York Times almost certainly is coming from a US Government black budget, given their total support of the corrupt Biden administration and their daily dose of venom being spat at Donald Trump and the rest of us Deplorables. The LA Times is in its death throes. They all had a nice left-leaning ride going but nobody is buying tickets these days. Like their hero and mentor, Joseph Goebbels, they all will eventually die.

The fake news has been catering to the young crowd...who could care less about print news...the are the tech nuts...and print news has to rely on companies buying advertisement to fund their operation...which is drying up because WE old folks watch Newsmax and read Breitbart ...so the generation with the money has not latched onto the woke left's narrative....and their left agenda is suffering....and BTW... Newsmax...when the commercials for Tic Tic come on...I turn off my television...nice try...poisoning my world....

Many moons ago I noticed that local rags had very little local, anything. I started checking the bylines and other details. They used many, many Washington Post and NY Times articles. I had already ceased reading the locals. From time to time I would look, not purchasing, and verify they were still doing the same thing.

One event that helped create the collapse was when most of them created paywall web sites and somehow thought the masses would eagerly pay for subscriptions to read their garbage. Yeah. No.
