White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Friday criticized the 25 Republican governors who signed onto a letter saying that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott had the right to install razor wire to defend his state from illegal immigrants coming over the border.
Jean-Pierre also blasted Abbott for preventing U.S. Customs and Border Protection from doing their jobs, though wouldn't say if President Joe Biden would federalize the National Guard, which Abbott has deployed to the area.

The tunnels may run for anywhere between 350 to 450 miles, and boast a staggering 5,700 entrance shafts, senior Israeli officials told The New York Times.
The new estimates – which could not be confirmed – are over 100 miles longer than the original numbers, which placed the tunnel network at around 250 miles long, the outlet noted.
The tunnels’ vastness is “extraordinary” given that Gaza’s longest point only stretches about 25 miles, the Times said.

At issue was a photo of Joe Biden wearing a hard hat backwards, which went viral on the right leaning side of social media before garnering enough attention to warrant a Snopes check.
The photo, which shows Biden wearing (a) hard hat backwards, was included in the Snopes article that first called the story false.

Three US service members were killed and 25 others were wounded in a drone attack on an outpost in Jordan near the Syrian border on Saturday night, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Sunday. This is the first time that US troops have been killed by enemy fire in the Middle East since the beginning of the war in Gaza.

Dr. Roy Spencer, a top scientist specializing in climate, wrote a report for Heritage which he summarized on his own web site.
Spencer compared observed warming in the U.S. corn belt during the summer, between 1973 and 2022–a 50-year period–with the warming that was predicted by the major climate models. He found that all of the models yielded more warming than actually occurred, most to an absurd degree.
