What has so often struck me, and irked me, about the embrace of “diversity” dogma is how profoundly unintellectual it is. A wiseguy might say it’s really a simple IQ test, though a wise guy understands it’s a soul and sagacity test. To wit:
To the extent that a person accepts as imperative diversity, DEI, CRT, wokeness in general — or whatever the latest shiny anti-Truth thing is — he is a vacuous know-nothing, not just unqualified, but dangerously ignorant.
Two recent examples are disgraced ex-Harvard president Claudine Gay and Johns Hopkins Hospital’s chief diversity officer Sherita Hill Golden, now infamous for disseminating a “privilege hit list.”

Magic does not happen because you have a white person, an Asian, a drag queen from South Africa, an Italian, three gay women, a mom with three children, and a flaming black gay man who is living with two illegal aliens, one gay from Brazil and one a straight sexual pervert all sitting around a table tackling the problems of the day. I want the best mix, whatever that mix happens to be. If I have a serious cancer and the best team is made up of white, straight men so be it. If the best team is more varied, ok with me. Which team has a history of success, a plan to handle my problem, qualifications and experience is the one I want. To believe that what is important is how you look is foolish and in some cases dangerous. How out of touch must you be to believe that qualifications are not a reason to be considered for a position but the tone of your skin is?

The ones I heard saying it most were diversity hires who were completely incompetent, but filled some weirdo square.

The DEI must DIE; it should be replaced by MIE-Merit-Independence-Equality, or perhaps the French LEF-Liberté, égalité, fraternité.

It's from "Star Trek", the Vulcan pilosophy "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations".
Nice to know the Vulcans are just as hypocritical as the humans, considered the raft of grief the Vulcans gave Spock, who was a living example of the philosophy, being a Vulcan-human hybrid.

Having experienced the pressure of hiring for diversity purposes instead of blindly choosing the best candidates, I can attest to the number of delayed projects, hours spent handling the bad apples through the watchful eyes of the HR department and smoothing over the grumbling of the qualified people who were required to pick up the slack, I finally learned that it was best to run short-staffed than to put up with somebody who should not have been there if the playing field had been level. Having fewer employees with which to share the total bonus at year end usually made up for the extra workload because, of course, the bonus had to be shared with the deadwood.

Social engineers, even with Draconian laws and the best of intentions, will never be able to hammer the bell curve flat.
Reality is not woke, nor is it influenced by polls or popular opinion...and it will ultimately have its way. The fool who persists in his folly will eventually be made wise.

The thing about Gay and others like her, is that they are actually poor example to other blacks. ‘Hey, it’s OK to cheat if you have to.’

Defense Secretary Austin is always saying diversity is our strength but the million or so under him in the Armed Forces are required to wear "uniforms." Will Austin mandate hijabs for women? The Army already allows women to wear hijabs with their Army Combat Uniforms. Marine bootcamp reduces its new entrants to a common zero and rebuilds them as Marines, e.g., from diversity to uniformity, which sets the Marines apart from the other services.

Intellectual diversity can be a strength: a room full of mechanical engineers all fluent in the technology, all working on the same thing, regardless of what sex or race, is a good thing.
Throwing people together who aren't qualified in the technology but only because of their race or sex is not the same thing.

FORCED DIVERSITY for diversity's sake is a failure. It creates more divisiveness and mistrust than equity and inclusion. Naturally occurring diversity, where the people choose to be together with commonalities (work, social, music, art, education...) is successful. When people choose to be together diversity works. When they are forced to be together, it does not work. It is not racism, it is human nature!

#11, And the people who get the job who are not playing this game don't know if they got the job because of merit or because of diversity.
I was in competition with two men for a position and got it. I finally asked my boss this question. His answer was "merit". I do believe he was telling the truth, but .... I'll never really know because of people like Gay.
