The U.S. used a multi-bladed weapon to kill Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah leader Abu Baqr al-Saadi in February.
The U.S. targeted al-Saadi in Iraq on Feb. 7 out of retaliation for Kataib Hezbollah’s attacks against a military base in Jordan in late January that killed three U.S. troops. The weapon that was used to kill al-Saadi is a modified hellfire “flying ginsu” missile wielding six long blades, which was previously unreported in the aftermath of the strike, defense officials told The Wall Street Journal. The AGM-114 R9X hellfire missile, sometimes referred to as a Ginsu or a ninja bomb, does not contain a warhead and does not explode on impact, instead

A few days after the mostly peaceful protest against vote fraud at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, Disney CEO Bob Iger held an all-hands meeting announcing it was time for Disney to start “taking a stand” on political issues. At the time of this meeting, Bob Chapek was the Disney Grooming Syndicate’s CEO. Iger was serving in the ad hoc post of executive chairman. Eleven months later, primarily due to Disney’s entry into partisan politics and the divisive culture wars, Chapek would be gone, and Iger would be back in charge. In this video, which Christopher Rufo first reported, Iger is not at all subtle

LONDON/SINGAPORE - Global demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) is estimated to rise by more than 50% by 2040, as China and countries in South and Southeast Asia use LNG to support their economic growth, Shell said on Wednesday.
The market remains "structurally tight", with prices and price volatility remaining above historic averages, constraining growth, the world's largest LNG trader said in its 2024 annual LNG market outlook. Demand for natural gas has peaked in some regions, including Europe, Japan and Australia in the 2010s, but continues to rise globally, and is expected to reach around 625-685 million metric tons per year in 2040, Shell said

The United States has informed Congress and its European allies of new intelligence about Russian nuclear capabilities that could pose an international threat, the New York Times reported on Wednesday, citing unnamed officials.
Citing a current and a former U.S. official, the newspaper reported the new intelligence was related to Russia's attempts to develop a space-based antisatellite nuclear weapon. Current and former officials said the nuclear weapon was not in orbit, the newspaper reported.

The Biden administration is investigating Israel for potentially misusing American weapons as well as its use of a chemical agent in its war against Hamas, according to a Wall Street Journal report on Wednesday.
Israel is carrying out a sweeping counteroffensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for the terrorist group’s attacks on Oct. 7 that left over 1,200 civilians dead. The Biden administration is investigating Israel regarding its potential misuse of weaponry in Gaza and Lebanon, some of which could have been provided by the U.S., The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday. The Biden administration and the Israeli government’s relationship has become increasingly strained over disagreements

Israel has left international talks in Cairo aimed at the release of hostages and securing a six-week truce with Hamas due to what it says are “delusional demands.”
“Israel did not receive in Cairo any new proposal of Hamas on the release of our hostages,” the office of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote in a post on X, the platform formerly Twitter, following a first round of talks in the Egyptian capital.
Netanyahu “insists that Israel will not give in to Hamas’s delusional demands. A change in Hamas’s positions will allow the negotiations to advance.”

Israel fired a “widespread wave” of airstrikes in Lebanon on Wednesday following a series of missile assaults from Hezbollah terrorists that killed one Israeli and injured eight others.
The Israeli military decimated several of the terror group’s compounds, control rooms and terror infrastructure, the IDF touted, with Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi vowing to continue the bombardments.
“The next campaign will have a very strong offensive, and we will use all our tools and capabilities,” he said during a meeting with leaders in northern Israel where thousands have been displaced over the conflict with Hezbollah.
“There is still a long way to go,” he added.

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley blamed former president Donald Trump for Republican Mazi Melesa Pilip’s loss to Democrat Tom Suozzi in the special election for George Santos’s former Long Island House seat.
Echoing the case they’ve made for their own candidate in the GOP presidential primary, Haley’s campaign argued in a Tuesday night statement that Trump’s brand is toxic among moderates in purple areas like New York’s third district and will continue to weigh down Republicans.
“Let’s just say the quiet part out loud. Donald Trump continues to be a huge weight against Republican candidates.

Several CBS News reporters were caught up in layoffs at Paramount Global that claimed 800 jobs, including one who is embroiled in a high-stakes First Amendment fight — and another who has reportedly weathered HR probes over his workplace behavior, The Post has learned.
Catherine Herridge — an award-winning senior correspondent whose First Amendment case is being closely watched by journalists nationwide — was among the hundreds of employees at CBS parent Paramount who got pink slips on Tuesday, sources told The Post. The carnage provoked outrage from the rank-and-file at CBS, with some focusing their ire on Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s domestic support is on the rise as Israel’s war against Hamas advances, according to poll numbers released on Tuesday.
Israel’s Channel 14 published the results of a survey conducted by Direct Polls on Tuesday evening, showing that if elections were held now, Netanyahu’s Likud Party would receive 28 mandates, its best numbers since the October 7 massacre — the most brutal attack on Jews since the Nazi Holocaust. In a matchup for prime minister between Netanyahu and his longtime rival Benny Gantz, Netanyahu is the preferred candidate, securing 47 percent of the total sample’s support compared to Gantz’s 34 percent. Democratic senators are admitting to private worries that President Biden’s age and health could cost their party the White House, but are loath to discuss those fears publicly, insisting there is no alternative to head the Democratic ticket in 2024.
Democratic senators who have spent time with Biden recently say he remains sharp mentally and claim they didn’t notice any diminution of cognitive abilities, contradicting special counsel Robert Hur’s claims that the president couldn’t remember what years he served as vice president.

Bummed as I was when Ron DeSantis bowed gracefully out of the presidential scrum, it was nice to have arguably the finest chief executive in fifty states back home in Florida running things full-time.
He hasn't taken a breather to recuperate from the campaigning either, plunging right back into the business of keeping FL humming along.
The legislation he announced support for today, though, is kind of funny in its own right if you think about it in a national context. It's a shot sent squarely across the bow of California's soft-on-crime, unctuous Randall Flagg clone, Gavin Newsom.
