After the Colorado Supreme Court ruled 4-3 last month to kick former and potentially future President Donald Trump off the ballot, which was then appealed, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to take up the case. Many legal experts, like Alan Dershowitz, are confident that the Court will find in favor of Trump, although it remains a question as to if it will be unanimous. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), however, offered up an idea as to how the Court could come to such a ruling during Monday's episode of "The Verdict." As the senator explained to co-host Ben Ferguson, matters for the Court to address include both whether or not

Florida Governor's Ron DeSantis crucial pitch to Iowa voters was derailed by climate change activists chanting 'no more oil money' on Tuesday night.
The Republican hopeful was fielding the final questions from Fox News hosts Brett Baier and Martha MacCallum when the protesters sparked chaos by jumping up, waving banners and shouting.
Security removed the hecklers after one managed to get on stage as DeSantis said: 'You live and you learn with these people.' 'Well, you guys, that was a mistake.' he told the demonstrators as they were escorted away. 'You guys didn't get that one right'.

Former First Lady Melania Trump's mother Amalija Knavs, 78, has died after being hospitalized in Miami, Florida, over the holidays.
Melania wasn't in family Christmas images posted to social media and she skipped a star-studded New Year's Eve party at Mar-a-Lago because she was taking care of her sick mother.
At the party, former President Donald Trump confirmed Melania's mother was 'very ill' and the situation has been 'tough' for their family. He told an adoring crowd assembled at his Mar-a-Lago estate that Melania was absent because she was currently at her mother's side at a nearby hospital.

Tens of thousands of Chinese nationals have been stopped by law enforcement after crossing over the southern U.S. border from Mexico.
The shocking trend comes at a time when the U.S. is experiencing increasing tension with the communist country. In just 11 months, 31,000 Chinese nations were stopped by law enforcement, a CNN report highlights. According to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol data, the U.S. would typically only see around 1,500 Chinese nationals in a given year over the previous decade.

Over a century ago the Progressive leadership of the Democrats seceded philosophically from the Founding Principles of the American experiment.[i] Rejecting the principles of natural law and unalienable individual rights, they adopted the statist relativism of Jeremy Bentham’s Utilitarianism and that of his philosophical heirs. They embraced the State as the arbiter of a changeable ‘common good’ and government by the State as preeminent over individuals, regulating personal liberty bestowed by government so long as it supports the state-defined ‘common good.’

In an NBC interview Sunday, Rep. Elise Stefanik deftly demonstrated how to handle Democrats’ false claims about a Jan. 6, 2021 “insurrection” to justify criminalizing the speech of the half of the country that opposes their policies. At the beginning of “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker’s interview with Stefanik, Welker played a deceptively edited clip from Jan. 6, 2021. On the House floor, Stefanik characterized the events from earlier that day as “tragic” and stated that violent individuals should be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Had NBC honestly portrayed the clip, it would have included the main point of Stefanik’s speech.

The cockpit door aboard last week’s troubled Alaska Airlines flight surprised the flight crew by swinging open seconds after the fuselage suffered a potentially catastrophic rupture, according to the chair of the federal agency investigating the incident.
National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy said during a news briefing Monday that the cockpit doors flew open immediately after the paneled-over exit door popped off of the fuselage. A flight attendant had to try three times to get it to close again, Homendy said. “The cockpit doors flew open immediately and at this point the flight attendant in the forward portion of the aircraft was standing. President Joe Biden did not learn about Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin‘s cancer diagnosis until this morning, the White House said Tuesday.
Austin’s prostate cancer diagnosis was disclosed publicly Tuesday afternoon, mere hours after the president learned, even though Austin reportedly received the diagnosis himself last month.
“[Biden] was not informed until last Friday that Secretary Austin was in the hospital,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said during the afternoon press briefing. “He was not informed until this morning that the root cause of that hospitalization was prostate cancer.”

This week, the Republican-controlled House will begin contempt proceedings against Hunter Biden with a vote expected as early as this week. That alone will be an historic moment for Congress to declare that the son of a sitting president may have committed a federal felony. However, the costs may not be borne by Hunter alone. If the Democratic members, as expected, unanimously oppose the contempt sanction, the party could fundamentally undermine its position in future investigations.
The Democratic leadership has made a series of similar decisions in the last decade that have cost the party dearly by opting for immediate political benefits over long-term interests.

On Jan. 1, Austin experienced complications from the surgery including nausea and severe abdominal, hip and leg pain, which was later identified as a urinary tract infection. On Jan. 2, he was

The headlines on Friday were that the economy created 216,000 jobs, more than expected and a sign of continued strength in the economy. “This morning’s report confirms that 2023 was a great year for American workers,” President Joe Biden said. Hurray! But wait a minute. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) previously reported that there were 157,087,000 “non-farm payroll” jobs in November. The number of these jobs in December, it now says, was 157,232,000. That’s a gain of only 145,000.

A federal appeals panel expressed deep skepticism Tuesday toward Donald Trump’s argument that he can’t be prosecuted for trying to overturn the 2020 election, raising the potentially extreme implications of absolute presidential immunity.
Trump’s lawyers argued that his federal election subversion indictment should be dismissed because he is immune from prosecution. But the three judges on the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit panel questioned whether this immunity theory championed by Trump’s lawyers would allow presidents to sell pardons or even assassinate political opponents.

She did this despite having more than one attorney within her own office who was perfectly capable of prosecuting the case. For a long time now, the debate has raged as to whether it’s worth going to college anymore. The libertarian view on this question has typically been along the lines of… if people are foolish enough to waste money on worthless degrees, the world will soon enough teach them another lesson. While valid, that view ran aground on the Democrat vote-buying scheme to insulate those with useless degrees from the consequences of their poor choices and indebtedness, with our tax money.
The cynical motives behind this ploy aside, I very much doubt many students enroll in college with the intention of eventually being bailed out by their fellow citizens.

Although the term “Lawfare” has origins going back to the 1950s, it remained relatively dormant and unknown until 1999 and 2001, where first Chinese military officers used the term in their book titled Unrestricted Warfare: China’s Master Plan to Destroy America. Two years later, the term was used in a paper by the highly respected, then-Air Force colonel (and later general) Charles Dunlap. The shakeup was widely seen as an attempt by the 46-year-old centrist Macron to head off a looming lame-duck status. Macron’s term is to end in 2027, and he won’t be able to run for president for a consecutive third term in line with the French Constitution.
