A major US union representing steelworkers slammed the deal by Japan’s Nippon Steel to buy US Steel Corp for $14.1 billion, which was confirmed on Monday just months after US Steel rejected an offer from its main domestic rival. The leading Japanese steelmaker will acquire the company in an all-cash deal at $55 per share, a 40 percent premium above its closing price on Friday and representing an equity value of about $14.1 billion, the companies said in a statement. Nippon will also assume the US firm’s debt, taking the total deal to $14.9 billion.

Steel workers unions supported Dem politicians that shut down mining, refining, foundries, and mills...For the Green Vote, Supported Dem Politicians that inked trade deals that sent all of that work overseas.... NOW, they want to complain that the Companies themselves are being "Sold Foreign"? Toooooo Late...but the rest of us will still have to pay a price for their perfidy. How will this work under Federal Buying rules that spec USA made Products? As Biden said..."Learn to Code"

How much US steel still lies at the bottom of Pearl Harbor? While we lived off the fat of the land, our defeated enemies recovered their wealth by hard work and sacrifice. What did we do? Lock in profits by selling out every chance we could get. Whenever we get called out, we huff, puff and strut around like the world’s superiors because we can borrow all we want to create the facade of prosperity. Nippon Steel probably would have bought US Steel long ago but had to wait for most all the WWII vets to pass away to avoid an uproar. No ill will to Nippon Steel, just plain contempt and disgust for our leadership, Dems and Republicans.

81-year-old Joe Biden on Wednesday traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to deliver remarks at the Wisconsin Black Chamber of Commerce. Biden is scrambling to shore up support from the black community. At least one recent poll has shown that Trump is making significant gains among black voters. (X) As usual, Biden’s speech was full of gaffes and lies. “I come from a state that has the eighth-largest Black population in the country, and as they say the saying goes where I come, you brung me to the dance early on!” Biden said. I mean, I would love to tell you he’s shaken by it. But he’s not,” Habba said when asked about where Trump’s head is after hearing this news. “It’s another day.”“This is the way they’ve been treating him since 2015. Joe Biden is 81 years old. But his problems extend well beyond age and include bad policy, incoherence, and making up all kinds of fantasy. The House also has now voted to open an impeachment inquiry into his involvement in the questionable financial dealings of his family. He is also hitting some of the lowest approval numbers ever in polling. But one of the big problems that people have with the idea of him being impeached or stepping aside is the backup: Kamala Harris. She's not 81, but she has her own set of issues, including questions about coherence. Harris just did an interview with MSNBC’s Lawrence O'Donnell.

President Joe Biden claimed on Wednesday that former President Donald Trump “certainly supported an insurrection” on January 6. The Colorado Supreme Court ruled Tuesday in a four-to-three opinion that the United States Constitution’s “Insurrection Clause” blocks Trump from appearing on the state’s presidential ballot, preventing voters from deciding who should become the next president. Trump has not been charged with insurrection, though the Court cited the partisan January 6 Committee’s controversial finding that Trump engaged in insurrection, ignoring the fact the Senate acquitted Trump of the House charges.

A bombshell ruling by Colorado to remove Donald Trump from the state's primary election ballot will be 'rocket fuel' for his chances of winning the White House in a 2024 rematch against Joe Biden, pollsters and pundits predict. The former president's son Eric Trump also claimed the Colorado Supreme Court's decision will increase his father's frontrunner status in the Republican primary race by at least 5 percent. It came after a Tuesday night ruling by the state's highest court that Trump violated Section 3 of the 14th Amendment - the Constitution's so-called 'insurrection clause'.

Democrats on Capitol Hill are publicly rejecting recent polls showing former President Donald Trump taking a lead over President Biden in the 2024 presidential election. A Tuesday poll from the New York Times and Sienna College found that Trump had a 46% to 44% lead over the sitting president. Trump's lead was even more drastic among younger voters, who favored Trump 49% to 43%. That poll's findings echoed surveys in November as well. Democrats, however, are remaining publicly unphased, according to reports.

At present, polls show that his approval ratings are the lowest ever for an incumbent president but the very fact that 30% of those polled still believe he’s doing a good job means that idiocracy is now the normal state in America. Dr. Claudine, current President of Harvard University, is one lucky woman or, as she might describe herself a “a lucky woman of color.” She first survived her dreadful testimony before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, where she refused to unambiguously denounce calls from Harvard students and faculty to kill all Israeli Jews. It was an embarrassing performance filled with weasel words and amorphous defenses such as “it all depends on context” as if genocide might be legitimate in some circumstances. Gay’s second lucky break was to survive clear-cut evidence that she was a career plagiarist, and this scholarly dishonesty far exceeded inadvertent sloppiness.
