LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels overcame being outside the playoff race with a prolific season that Heisman Trophy voters could not ignore.
Daniels won the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night, becoming the first player since 2016 to win college football’s most prestigious player of the year award as part of a team that did not play for a conference championship.
The fifth-year player, who transferred from Arizona State to LSU in 2022, received 503 first-place votes and 2,029 points.
“This is a dream come true,” Daniels started his acceptance speech.
Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. was the the runner-up with 292 first-place votes and 1,701 points and Oregon’s Bo Nix was third (51, 885),

Donald Trump could beat Joe Biden in next year's presidential race, a new poll suggests.
President Biden's approval rating has sagged, leaving him 4 points behind former president Trump, according to a Wall Street Journal survey of 1,500 registered voters.
On a hypothetical ballot between just the two candidates Trump would receive 47 percent of the vote to Biden's 43 percent. Trump's lead rises to 6 points, 37 percent to 31 percent's, when five potential third-party and independent candidates are included.

Four in ten Democrats agree with removing statues of George Washington as some leftist cities consider doing so, a Rasmussen Reports survey released Thursday found.
While the survey found 77 percent of Democrats expressing at least a somewhat favorable view of the country’s first president and Revolutionary War hero, 40 percent at least somewhat approve of removing public monuments of the figure. Of those, 21 percent of Democrats “strongly” approve. However, 53 percent at least somewhat disapprove of doing so.

Passengers on a Delta flight were left in shock as a fellow traveler turned the airplane bathroom into an impromptu kitchen to cook a meal of shrimp and mashed potatoes.
The passenger, an American content creator known as Barfly, documented the unorthodox cooking show on social media, stirring up alarm and hygiene concerns among the flying public.
During a recent Delta flight, Barfly, who has garnered a sizeable following for his ‘makeshift meal prep’ videos on TikTok, decided to cook raw shrimp and powdered mashed potatoes using rudimentary equipment in the aircraft’s lavatory.

Voters have another six weeks before the Iowa caucuses start the Republican primary season, and despite the national polling dominance of former President Donald Trump, two major candidates are heading into the holidays with momentum. While Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has languished in the polls, he has secured the potential game-changing endorsements of Gov. Kim Reynolds (R-IA) and evangelical kingmaker Bob Vander Plaats. Meanwhile, Nikki Haley has soared to second place in New Hampshire and South Carolina while nipping at the Florida governor's heels in the Hawkeye State.

A sitting Republican senator with years of experience investigating the family of President Joe Biden said Thursday that a number of banks reported suspicious financial activity at the president’s home in Wilmington, Delaware.
Banks filed Suspicious Activity Reports, known as SARS in the industry, at least six times, flagging “about $12 million in transactions over several years,” Sen. Ron Johnson said on “Just the News, No Noise.”
Later in the interview, Johnson said that the $12 million figure was an estimate, and might include some double counting.
The reports were connected with Hunter Biden’s overseas affairs, and “raised concerns about possible criminal activity involving money laundering or human trafficking,”

You know about carjackings. Now, you also need to be wary of “bank jackings.”
Millions of Americans whip out their phones to pay for everything from dinners to vacation rentals using banking apps like Zelle, Venmo and Cash App. But that convenience is fueling a new kind of robbery.
In Chicago and other cities, gunmen have been forcing people to unlock their phones with their pass codes or technology that recognizes thumbprints and faces, according to police.Once in, the robbers drain victims’ bank accounts. The payoff is often $1,000 or more — a lot more than criminals typically score by just stealing a wallet.

Democrat’s amped-up efforts to restrict American’s Second Amendment rights are in full swing.
Sen. Angus King (I-Maine) and Democratic Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) introduced legislation that calls for the regulation of firearms by outlawing weapons with a magazine capacity greater than ten rounds, among other measures aimed at increasing gun control.
The Gas-Operated Semi-Automatic Firearms Exclusion (GOSAFE) Act would ban mechanisms, notably semi-automatic firearms, the “gas operation” cornerstone. It would also ban modifications, including the use of bump stocks and the manufacture of so-called “ghost gun kits.”
Critics of the bill say it would ban the exact firearms law-abiding citizens use to defend themselves and their families.

Hunter Biden passionately expressed his frustration with Republicans with a few expletives during a recent appearance on a podcast. Like a typical entitled leftist, he also portrayed himself as a victim, and accused Republicans of going after him to undermine his father's presidency.
The latest episode of Moby Pod was recorded in Hunter's San Francisco art studio, and was a pathetic love fest gushing over his alleged recovery from drug addiction. During the episode, co-host Lindsay Hicks praised the “real beauty" in Biden's vulnerability in his memoir, “Beautiful Things,” and hyping it as a book that could empower others struggling with addiction.

At Thanksgiving, inflation on many dinner staples including bread, cookies, and uncooked poultry were much higher than the alleged average inflation rate. Now it’s Christmas trees.

The manifestations of the disorder are too numerous to cite, but the explosion of the DEI plague being pushed by the government, many businesses, and the intellectual pigmies in most of the media, must be included in any list of the most egregious.
There is a brand of this particular wokeness that is relatively unknown to the general public, but that is particularly irrational and dangerous. It is the Federal Aviation Administration’s relatively young DEI mandates. These Biden/Buttigieg DEI commands now apply to the employment of FAA air traffic controllers in an insidious way,

Last night, I watched a documentary about the Gestapo. It occurred to me that it used the same tactics as the bumbling joke that currently occupies the Bully Pulpit and his minions. I did some research to substantiate my thoughts. The Geheime Staatspolizei, abbreviated Gestapo, was the official secret police of Nazi Germany. It was created by Hermann Göring in 1933 by combining various political police agencies of Prussia into one organization. On April 20, 1934, oversight passed to Heinrich Himmler, the head of the Schutzstaffel (the SS, originally Hitler’s personal body guard), who was also appointed chief of German police by Hitler in 1936.

I cringe every time I hear someone lament Trump’s rhetoric, for one cannot understand Trump and his goals without understanding his rhetoric and how it works. Ultimately, Trump left his life of luxury to save the country, and yes, you can believe him when he says that America will never be a socialist nation. The presidency was a mere means to that end. The Wall Street Journal wants Republicans to win the next battle; Trump wants to win the war.
The key to understanding the tour de force that is Trump’s rhetoric, including his most inflammatory statements, lies in understanding that what he says is all calculated.

Dramatic footage released Friday showed Israel Defense Forces soldiers facing off against Hamas terrorists inside a school — as the country’s defense minister vowed that the group’s hold in the Gaza Strip is finally “beginning to break.”
Members of the elite LOTAR Unit, along with the 188th Armored Brigadee’s 74th Battalion, encountered a Hamas cell in the remains of a school building in Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood, the Times of Israel reported. IDF fighters appeared to pursue the terrorists through the building in a tense, bullet-ridden standoff, the IDF clips showed.

Hear that flushing noise?
Amid all the screeching of the anti-Semitic global elites, the haze of pro-Hamas global protests, and the Biden administration's efforts to micromanage how Israel conducts its war against avowed terrorists, Israel's Defense Forces have been quietly takin' care of business.
AT's editor, Andrea Widburg has written about the mass surrenders which is happy news indeed, here.

New York — The growing chorus of donors, politicians, business leaders and other prominent figures calling for the immediate ouster of University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill has reached a crescendo after her disastrous testimony at a House hearing earlier this week.

Magill had already been under fire prior to Tuesday’s hearing after multiple incidents of antisemitism on campus in recent months

The Texas Supreme Court on Friday agreed to pause a lower court ruling that would have allowed a pregnant woman whose fetus is unlikely to survive to get an abortion.
The ruling that “administratively stays” the lower court’s order is not the final say, but it pauses the decision that cleared Kate Cox, 31, to have an abortion. Cox was 20 weeks pregnant when she found out last month that her developing fetus has trisomy 18, a rare chromosomal disorder likely to cause stillbirth or the death of the baby shortly after it is born.
Texas law prohibits almost all abortions with limited exceptions. Lawyers on her behalf sought and successfully
