A Supreme Court battle over a Washington couple's $15,000 IRS bill is threatening to rewrite America's tax code.
Oral arguments began today in the case of Moore V. United States over a 2017 Trump-era tax rule. The measure affects few Americans but an overturning of it could redefine how income is taxed in the US, cost the federal government hundreds of billions of dollars and jeopardize Biden's billionaires' tax bill.
Former GOP Speaker of the House Paul Ryan today said the challenge was 'misguided' and could make much of the tax code 'unconstitutional.'

On Tuesday the House Education Committee invited the leaders of MIT, Harvard, and Penn to testify in front of Congress.
During their testimony Rep. Elise Stefanik asked the educators if calling for the genocide of Jews violates the code of conduct on their campuses. Not one of the campus leaders could answer the question.
Presidents of the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, and MIT smilingly say that calling for genocide of Jews isn’t necessarily against their code against harassment and bullying on campus. MIT dean Liz Magill suggested it was not a violation unless it led to actual genocide. Wow!
It’s open season on Jews at these American universities!

We are witnessing a recurring pattern of events – none of which make sense in a rational world.
Those we trust have told us to accept as truths things that are now turning out to be lies. On the list are government investigative committees, our Department of Justice/FBI, the National Institute of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, weather scientists, and even teachers, to name a few.
But perhaps the greatest betrayal of trust comes from the news media. The journalists who bravely risked everything to investigate and report wrongdoing are no more.
Instead, the vast majority of the mainstream media support the lies in unison

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Tuesday reportedly tabled a move to slip a deep state reauthorization into a defense bill.
“BREAKING NEWS —@SpeakerJohnson has nixed an extension of FISA authority as part of the NDAA,” Punchbowl News’s Jake Sherman wrote. As Breitbart News has reported, Johnson and other congressional leaders have wanted to temporarily reauthorize Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Section 702 is a controversial government surveillance law, and the proposed move received strong backlash from 54 bipartisan House lawmakers and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH).

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi suggested Tuesday that it might be a “good idea” to flood the Hamas terror tunnels in Gaza with seawater, commenting on a report in the Wall Street Journal that Israel was thinking about it.
The Journal report stated: “Israel has assembled a system of large pumps it could use to flood Hamas’s vast network of tunnels under the Gaza Strip with seawater, a tactic that could destroy the tunnels and drive the fighters from their underground refuge but also threaten Gaza’s water supply, U.S. officials said.”

The House will vote the week of December 10 on formalizing the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden to strengthen subpoena power over the stonewalling Biden administration, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) stated during a Tuesday press conference.
The vote will be a test for House Republicans, who hold a slight majority over House Democrats. The measure will need nearly all Republican support.
Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) opened an “impeachment inquiry” on September 12, but lawmakers did not vote to approve the measure.
If the impeachment inquiry receives majority support on the House floor, the inquiry will be formally adopted,

Defense attorneys have coined the term “January 6 Jurisprudence” to describe the treatment received by the more than 1,200 defendants arrested so far in connection with the events of Jan. 6, 2021. This carve-out legal system involves the unprecedented and possibly unlawful use of a corporate evidence-tampering statute; excessive prison sentences and indefinite periods of pretrial incarceration; and the designation of nonviolent offenses as federal crimes of terrorism. A universal feature is the requirement that a Jan. 6 defendant, usually a supporter of Donald Trump, face trial in Washington, D.C., a city overwhelmingly populated by Democrats

Polls reveal most Americans favor laws limiting the capacity of firearms magazines to 10 rounds, and the New York Times reports that several generally pro-gun federal legislators have expressed support for such legislation. Surely, they argue, no one needs more than 10 shots to kill a deer or stop an armed intruder. Other than in war, their main purpose, clearly, is to murder large numbers of innocent citizens. So, they should obviously be outlawed. So goes the mantra, but it is far from the truth.
In reality, such bans would have a minimal, if any, impact on criminal homicides, but they might well endanger the lives of law-abiding citizens

The case is significant because the court could use it to strike down the Mandatory Repatriation Tax (MRT), also known as the Section 965 transition tax, (snip)
Conservative constitutionalists say if the Supreme Court finds that the MRT violates the 16th Amendment to the Constitution, such a legal precedent could prevent Congress from enacting legislation to tax wealth.

America in the twenty-first century has been on an accelerating descent not unlike what befell ancient Rome. For some four centuries Rome’s Senate and constitution provided continuity which sustained the Roman Republic through various challenges. But in the end, what befell Rome from barbarian invasion, political corruption, and mobs that were manipulated and used by its Caesars, was a rampage against reason and freedom, leading to the Republic’s demise and transition to a centralized imperial authority under emperors.
America's style and state of political decline and cultural degeneration differ in many ways from that of ancient Rome, but the big picture has striking similarities.

Next year promises to be a wild year, given the presidential election and the stakes for both America’s ruling class and its people.
Donald Trump represents an existential threat to the ruling class's money, power, and influence. To many voters, though, he is the only option to right the sinking American ship.
The ruling class includes the federal government’s burgeoning administrative state, no longer serving the American people, but instead those in power. Government has morphed from Abraham Lincoln’s dream, “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth,” to a government with a Marxist disregard

Hamas-linked financiers made hundreds of millions of dollars of profits by shorting Israeli stocks before the October 7 massacre, two analysts say.
One unidentified trader 'shorted' 4.43 million shares in Israel's largest bank, Leumi, between September 15 and October 5 - meaning they gambled that the price of Leumi's shares would fall.
After the October 7 attack, Leumi's share price did indeed plummet as its operations were paralyzed, earning a $900 million profit for the trader, who is believed to have links to Hamas.
The trade and others were unearthed by Robert J. Jackson, Jr, from New York University School of Law, and Joshua Mitts of Columbia Law School.

For a man who once claimed to be “the poorest man in Congress,” Joe Biden sure likes to loan out money.
For instance, the Bank of Biden supposedly gave $40,000 to his brother James.
James was able to repay the money barely a month later, after he coincidentally received a check from a Chinese energy company.
Next, the White House claims, Joe Biden helped his son make car payments.
That’s why Joe received a monthly payment of $1,380 in 2018 from his son Hunter’s law firm.
Hunter was just paying him back — possibly using money the son “earned” from that same Chinese energy firm, and a Ukrainian gas company, Burisma.

Holden Armenta’s parents, Shannon and Raul, hired law firm Clare Locke LLP to compel Deadspin, the outlet which published the hit piece condemning his getup, to retract the story. Authored by senior writer Carron Phillips, the story was headlined, “The NFL needs to speak out against the Kansas City Chiefs fan in Black face, Native headdress.”
The parents also warned that they may launch legal action
