Water Tower Place, an eight-story, 758,000 sq. ft. high-end shopping mall in downtown Chicago, is in the news.
Once one of the biggest and most exciting malls in the Midwest, it quietly leaked that the owners are interested in renting out the top five of its eight floors “for purposes other than retail.”
Not just wealthy shoppers, but even browsing tourists, too, it seems, are staying away in droves.
Chicago could support such a luxury mall once. The Magnificent Mile was a thrilling destination for generations. What happened to Chicago’s iconic Michigan Boulevard? Or to back up even farther — what happened to Chicago?

On Thursday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) stated that U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Humanitarian Issues David Satterfield told him that Hamas does have tunnels under hospitals, but “when you have a hospital full of wounded people, it cannot be a target ever.”
Host Andrea Mitchell said, “I can tell you that in the briefing we had today with John Kirby, where they were announcing this pause and the agreement with Israel, he was also asked about continuing strikes against hospitals, ambulances, and the like. And he said that there is always a concern that any action against a hospital would be proportional.

Friday on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz reacted to former President Barack Obama’s criticism of Israel in the wake of the October 7 terror attacks on its southern territory.
Dershowitz suggested Obama’s criticism was a result of the “deep hatred” Obama had for Israel.
“Do you think Obama understands what his words have meant?” FBN host Maria Bartiromo asked.
“I think so,” Dershowitz replied. “I think he always had a deep hatred of Israel in his heart. He hid it very well. He called me to the Oval Office, and he said Alan, you know I have Israel’s back.

Rahm Emanuel once famously stated, “never let a good crisis go to waste.” This phrase expresses the idea that crisis often breeds opportunity.
On Wednesday, the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined the co-hosts of “The View” to do just that. Hilary seized the moment to offer her perspective on the similarities between Hitler and Donald Trump and what that could mean for the 2024 election. According to Clinton, she previously discussed the concept of “one and done.” This referred to elected individuals who sought to eliminate future elections, opposition, and a free press after their legitimate election.

On the day that the DOJ announced arrests related to a brothel that focused on political clients, these 70 Republicans voted to give the FBI brand new headquarters.
Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz moved to defund plans for the new office building with an amendment to the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act for 2024. House Democrats were unanimous in opposing the Gaetz proposal and were joined by 70 Republicans. Gaetz’s proposal failed 273 to 145 in a Wednesday vote, the same day the Justice Department unveiled three arrests over a “sophisticated high-end brothel” ring operating in Virginia and Massachusetts.

Several years ago, I wrote a column entitled, “Something Evil This Way Comes” because there had been so many incidents occurring which defied common sense and smacked of nothing short of evil.
Consequently, it came as no surprise that our Catholic diocese restored having the St. Michael prayer said at the end of each mass.
I sent away for a statue of St. Michael the Archangel that graces the mantle of our fireplace because he is the most the Archangel that graces the mantle of our fireplace because he is the most powerful angel and my favorite.

Several restaurants and businesses throughout Washington, D.C., have been forced to flee the city because of rising crime and costs in the area, Fox5 DC reported.
Brine Oyster & Seafood House, a popular restaurant that opened its first location in the city 2020, will close both its H Street and DuPont circle locations in D.C. because of the violent crime that has “made it impossible … to survive,” the restaurant owners wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. The restaurant locations will be the 47th and 48th to close in the city this year, according to Fox5. “We’ve both been burglarized numerous times, both of my restaurants. Numerous times,” Aaron McGovern,

The FBI seized Mayor Eric Adams’ electronics early this week in connection with what appears to be a growing investigation into possible federal corruption in his 2021 campaign, The Post has learned.
The feds are looking into whether Hizzoner’s campaign colluded with the Turkish government and others to direct money into his mayoral effort, sources told The Post, after the news was first reported by the NY Times. Agents reportedly approached Adams, 63, on the street and asked his security team to step aside, one of the sources explained.
The agents then got into Adams’ SUV with him and executed a court-authorized warrant to seize

The man accused of bludgeoning former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband with a hammer was caught up in conspiracies when he broke into her San Francisco home last year, his defense attorney said, as his trial opened on Thursday.
David DePape, a former nudist from British Columbia, entered the Pelosi home through a back door in the early hours of October 28, 2022, and attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer. Nancy was not home at the time.
Paul Pelosi, then 82, had called the police, speaking carefully so as not to enrage DePape, who was in the house. Police arrived in time to see DePape smash a hammer into Pelosi's head,

Former President Donald Trump threatened to weaponize his own DOJ in a reversal of complaints that Democrats are targeting him.
The former president suggested he could use the FBI and Justice Department to go after rivals if he wins the presidency in 2024. In an hour-long interview with the Spanish-language television network Univision that aired Thursday, Trump attacked President Joe Biden for weaponizing federal agencies in an attempt to halt his presidential campaign. “I think the people know it's a political persecution,” Trump told host Enrique Acevedo. “It's a political hoax. This is Biden who's the worst president in the history of our country.

Does the Washington Post have any credibility at all?
They censored this cartoon below after a few critics absurdly howled 'racism' -- all for depicting a Hamas spokesman accurately, and creating a thoughtful message that Hamas's howls about civilian attacks are disingenuous, given Hamas's war on Israeli civilians, including the 200-some hostages they hold. upposedly, they complained about the nose, expropriating from the complaints of caricatures directed against Jews done by anti-Semites.
Yeah, sure.
Did they want a little turned-up button nose on him?
And is Ramirez supposed to depict a terrorist spokesman holding hostages flatteringly?
