CNN is set to shutter its original headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, following its final broadcast Friday. CNN host Kate Bolduan announced at the beginning of Friday’s episode of News Central CNN that the program was the last presented by control rooms at the CNN Center in Atlanta. The operation is prepared to move to the renovated 30-acre Turner Techwood campus in Midtown after more than 35 years of broadcasting, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Before we go today, we are marking an important moment today in CNN’s history. Today’s show will be the final broadcast from the CNN Center in

Think of the level of fumigation that will be required for the next tenant.

# 3 - oh yes, people do still watch. One of my oldest friends watches it. We just did a 'polite argument' over news she got from them that I know is so wrong but she believes it. Fortunately we learned long ago to shut up and move on to something else. She actually believes Biden is running the country. She comes from a strongly democratic union family.

The place was a ghost town when we walked through it on our way to the football stadium about six or seven years ago. However, the food stands were doing fairly well on game day.

Not many would be sad if the sentence had a period after "---the final broadcast---".

I have an idea!
Let CNN use the old building to house thousands of 'migrants.'
If they support the open borders, I'm sure that they want to help in every way that they can help.

Here's an extract from an article describing their new -30 acres!- digs:
"This 330,000sf expansion of Turner Entertainment Division’s 30-acre Midtown Atlanta corporate campus houses their Executive and Network Operations functions. Covering 4.4 acres, it includes a 6-story 193,000sf Network Operations building and a 5-story 145,000sf Administration building atop a 1,200-car underground parking structure, "
1) I wonder.... does it have a Fence or a Wall (CNN says that walls don't work, but I bet THEY have one!) around the place to keep the Enwords out?
2) I noted the operations building OVER a parking garage.
I would not be surprised to read, at some point in the future, that the whole thing went up in a cloud of toxic smoke after one of their precious EV cars (which are more and more shown to be liable to catch fire while parked and are VERY difficult to extinguish) caught fire in that underground parking garage.
Just think of the amount of that 'Eeeevil' Carbon Dioxide that will be generated when (not 'if') it happens!

Downtown Atlanta is dead. The name Techwood appears in the article. It's a street that runs by Georgia Tech. Ted Turner now lives in Montana. Some thought the 96 Olympics would revitalize Atlanta. It didn't. Another ghost town.

Last time I tuned into CNN was when Bernard Shaw, John Holliman and Peter Arnett were reporting from under a table in a building/hotel in Baghdad Jan 1991. Good times!
Holliman was a non-political type, often reporting on NASA. He was an excellent reporter, but died tragically in a car accident in 1998.

Haven't watched anything CNN-related since the late Bob Losure (a fellow University of Tulsa grad) was anchoring Headline News. Was curious enough once while in Atlanta to tour the CNN building to see CNN En Espanol on the air. But that was over 15 yrs ago

They should just move out totally and let Ga Tech have the property for more diversity centers. And double the tuition yet again to cover the costs.

They probably need to save money so are moving the backroom operations to a 'renovated' old building in Atlanta. Apparently, most programming is done in NY anyways.
