On Thursday, in response to the Maine shootings, President Joe Biden pushed for a repeal of protections that protect gun makers from frivolous lawsuits, universal background checks, and other gun controls.
WhiteHouse.gov published Biden’s statement, which opened with him saying, “Today, Jill and I are praying for the Americans who’ve lost their lives, for those still in critical care, and for the families, survivors, and community members enduring shock and grief.”
He then urged residents in Maine’s Lewiston area to heed all law enforcement’s warnings, including alerts to shelter-in-place.

Oh? You and Jill prayed for the Americans who lost their lives in Maine, huh? Like you prayed for the soldiers who needlessly lost their lives at the airport in Afghanistan? We were all very impressed by all the great comforting you did for their familes. /s

Then he should sue auto makers for all those killed in car accidents. And all breweries for alcoholics who destroy their and their families lives because they are drunks. And cigarette makers for all those who get lung cancer from them. See where I'm going with this?

What about suing the doctors who released a dangerous, delusional man after a brief stay in the psych ward.

Biden you cheater, how about arrest, try, convict and sentence societal throwback like this Maine shooter to a date with capital punishment. Especially since you refuse to recognize America's mental health crisis for what it is.

What about all the veterans who are not evaluated (and treated for) PTSDs?
On the other hand, how about all you false accusations that a drunk driver killed your first wife and child.
Does Biden have a difficult time accepting responsibility?

I'm retired now, and at the same time Biden's inflation is killing me. I dont have the money to throw around that I used to have. These anti-American pukes get on their soap boxes preaching about my gun rights needing to be curtailed, so I have to run out and buy even more guns, ammo and magazines. If these crooks dont cut it out, I may starve.

Until people who see potentially dangerous persons stop ignoring the signs and report it to authorities, these killings will continue. It isn’t a gun or knife that does the killing, it is the person wielding the gun or knife that does the killing. As long as warning signs are ignored and no action taken, the killings will continue unabated.

Almost as if they had this locked and loaded before the shooting even started.
We just saw what happens when you disarm a populace; the Israeli government disarmed their citizens shortly before the Hamas attack and they were slaughtered, not hard to figure out what the Democrats want.

A federal law was passed to prevent these lawsuits. Why isn't that working?

#12 It is working which is why they want to do away with it, then they can use the same weaponized judicial system, and litigious terrorism they are using to try and destroy Trump, to destroy ALL gun manufacturers.

The shooter had been institutionalized this year and had hallucinations - a PROHIBITED PERSON. Yet, he still was able to obtain weapons. Therefore: you must give up YOURS.
#12: Yes,the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act is a U.S law, passed in 2005, but we no longer have a lawful government.

I do not own a gun, so I have a question. When you legally purchase a gun and go through the background check and approval process, who gives the approval for the purchase?
Also, in this case, I do not believe the weapon was used for its intended purpose.

The gun was perfectly happy sitting in the gun safe or wherever it is kept.
It was the lunatic who did the killing.
Lunacy seems to be accepted everywhere these days. Lunatics who believe they can become women by cutting off their junk, Lunatics who show no shame for being men competing with women, Lunatics who live in the ghetto's of Detroit Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore and slaughter members of their own race every weekend, and crazies like this guy who's lunacy was well known and nothing was done about it.

What’s new? As Biden has been targeting the wrong people and entities since he assumed office for partisan political purposes. Common sense will tell you that the big problems with emerging mass shooters not being identified, are caused by incompetent protocols that keep mental health professionals who have had contact with those individuals, because of the medical privacy or HIPA laws, that keep those mental health professionals from notifying law enforcement of the identities and particulars of very potentially dangerous “nut jobs” who talk about blowing things up and murdering innocent people with all sorts of weapons, of course including firearms. Besides that, the current federal gun control laws preclude people with mental illnesses who have been committed to a mental health facility from purchasing firearms.

A communist calling for gun control after a mass shooting is automatic. Sueing the manufacturer of a gun makes no sense which is exactly why communists do it. Common sense and demoslut/commie party don't go together. It's like oil and water. They just don't mix.

Re#15...The FBI approves the purchase. They have a huge center in Clarksburg, West Virginia where the gun dealer calls in the purchase, the FBI employee runs the name on their computers and gives the dealer an ok for the sale, a no go, or sometimes a delay if there are questions. They stay very busy.

Re #15, the background check is done via the "National Instant Check System" which the dealer phones, gives your name and they check to see if you are on the list of felons or other prohibited persons. If not, the 'go ahead' is given. If there is a problem, like you have a felony record, the purchase is denied. If there are multiple people with the same name, and they can't sort it out, they put a "hold" on the sale. If, after 3 days, the gun seller hasn't heard back to block the sale, the sale can go through.
So....it is the FBI who runs NICS, and the NICS folks approve each purchase. Unless you have a concealed carry license and your state approves of using this as the waiver for a background check.
In this case, the CCW is shown and the phone call doesn't happen.
