On Thursday’s “CNN This Morning,” CNN Political Director David Chalian stated that “a lot of the results” of a CNN poll that 61% of Americans think then-Vice President Joe Biden was involved in his son Hunter’s business dealings and 55% believe he acted inappropriately with regards to the Hunter Biden investigation “are driven by partisanship.”
Chalian said, “Obviously, a lot of the results here are driven by partisanship. And we see what the Republicans on Capitol Hill are trying to do with this issue. But it seems to be working a little bit. So, we asked Americans, was Joe Biden involved in Hunter Biden’s business dealings when he was Vice President.

Top Republican James Comer is accusing Hunter Biden prosecutor David Weiss of attempting to sneak through another 'sweetheart deal' for the president's son - who is facing an imminent indictment for his gun crimes.
On Wednesday, federal prosecutors on Weiss' team said in a filing that they plan to indict Hunter Biden on illegal gun charges - that have a maximum of 10 years in prison - by the end of September.
'They already tried to sneak something through once. We need to make sure that they don't do it again,' House Oversight Chairman Comer told WABC 770 AM's 'Cats & Cosby Show.'

Emails obtained by the Heritage Foundation following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, and shared exclusively with The Federalist, reveal a glaring gap in the documentation maintained by the Delaware U.S. attorney’s office: There is nothing memorializing the authority Attorney General Merrick Garland claims he gave U.S. Attorney David Weiss for the Hunter Biden investigation.
For more than a year, Garland represented to Congress that Weiss held ultimate authority over the Hunter Biden investigation — which the eventual appointment of Weiss as special counsel contradicted. But now there is more evidence — or rather a lack of evidence — indicating the claimed authority was always a charade.

Former President Donald Trump, as well as South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, former Vice President Mike Pence, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are leading President Joe Biden in a head-to-head matchup, the latest CNN poll found.
The survey asked respondents who they would choose in a series of hypothetical head-to-head matchups, all including Biden and various GOP candidates. Trump, the clear leader in the Republican primary race, leads Biden in a head-to-head matchup by one percent, or 47 percent to 46 percent. Notably, Trump’s lead is within the ± 3.6 percent margin of error.

Nikki Haley, a contender for the GOP presidential nomination, poses the greatest risk to Biden, according to a new poll released by CNN on Thursday.
Haley, who has recently seen a boost in the polls since faring well in the first primary debate, led Biden by 6 percentage points in a hypothetical matchup, backed by 49 percent support to Biden's 43 percent. It was the widest lead in any of any head-to-head pairs

The Biden administration is considering forcing migrants who cross into the United States illegally to remain in Texas while they wait out their asylum screening.
Administration officials cite the proposed plan as a way to curb the flow of illegal immigrants at the southern border, The Los Angeles Times reported, citing three U.S. officials not authorized to discuss the matter.
The plan would force migrants to remain in Texas, or possibly other border states by tracking their location through GPS monitoring devices, such as ankle bracelets, the officials told the Times. The migrants would undergo an asylum screening to determine whether they can remain in the U.S.

I have written quite a bit about the Democrats’ emerging problem with nonwhite voters (for example, here, here and here), manifest in steadily declining margins among this demographic. Well, now it’s official.......Democrats may simply have misjudged what is most important to nonwhite voters, reflecting perhaps the increasing domination of their coalition by white college graduate voters, virtually the only demographic among whom the party has been doing steadily better. The agenda of white college graduates, particularly the progressives who support the party so fervently and fuel the party’s activist base, is less coterminous with that of nonwhite voters than Democrats seem to believe.

New York City's migrant crisis will cost the city more than $4billion this fiscal year if the situation continues - as mayor Eric Adams warned the influx of asylum seekers could destroy the city.
Despite mayor Adams' cries for help from the state and federal government, the city has not received aid to cover the extra costs, so the $4.7billion would come from the city's budget. That amount is equal to the budgets for the city's sanitation, fire and parks departments combined.
More than 110,000 asylum seekers have arrived in the city since the Spring of 2022, with over currently 10,000 arriving every month, and about 1,000 every single day.

President Joe Biden faces continued headwinds from broadly negative job ratings overall, widespread concerns about his age and decreased confidence among Democratic-aligned voters, according to a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS.
There is no clear leader in a potential rematch between Biden and former President Donald Trump, who is widely ahead in the GOP primary. And nearly half of registered voters (46%) say that any Republican presidential nominee would be a better choice than Biden in 2024.
Meanwhile, hypothetical matchups also suggest there would be no clear leader should Biden face one of the other major GOP contenders, with one notable exception:

Georgia's Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger wrote an opinion piece decrying those who wish to bar former President Trump from running in the 2024 election, suggesting that voters, not lawyers, should decide.
Some of Trump’s critics have argued that a rule enshrined in the United States Constitution could bar Trump from being on the ballot in the 2024 election. The legal theory proposes that Trump would be subject to Section 3 of the 14th Amendment — the Disqualification Clause — which bars individuals who "have engaged in insurrection or rebellion" against America, or aided those engaged in such, from holding office, citing Jan. 6.

Do y’all remember the time an emotional support animal was kicked off a United flight for being disruptive? In this instance, “being disruptive” included a pig defecating and screaming in the cabin. Passengers were quick to complain about the stink, noise, and awkwardness of it all because, when you pay good money to fly, doing so without a barnyard experience is a reasonable expectation.
Thankfully, over the last decade, emotional support animals have been kept on a tighter leash since they are not now, nor were they ever service dogs. Airlines have reeled in their restrictions and put a muzzle on the idea any animal can fly

The meltdown in blue cities over the busing of illegal immigrants continues, and it’s causing Democrats serious problems.
That’s good, because it’s their fault this is happening.
What the media inaccurately call the “migrant crisis” (these are people who have unlawfully crossed the U.S. border, not migrants) is battering so-called sanctuary cities, such as New York and Los Angeles.
Imagine how people in Texas and Arizona border cities—such as El Paso, Yuma, and Eagle Pass—feel.
Texas sent a 12th bus full of illegal immigrants to Los Angeles on Monday. (Snip)
“The migrants were from Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Russia, and Venezuela,” it said.

During COVID, there were allegedly no treatments available, according to the FDA and CDC. Even through a number of front-line doctors were having success with ivermectin and HCQ, the CDC and FDA put real barriers in place for working doctors to utilize those treatments. Many doctors were threatened with losing their license if they continued to treat patients, and some doctors were fired.

PITTSBURGH — 11 Investigates after a major drug bust at the Downtown Pittsburgh Greyhound station.
Agents with the Attorney General’s Office uncovered nearly $2 million worth of deadly drugs.
In total, 450,000 doses of potentially deadly fentanyl, more doses than the number of people who live in the city of Pittsburgh, were recovered. Investigators say all of it was found on one 27-year-old man from New York who brought it right through the bus station.

Hunter Bided failed to pay federal income taxes on millions in income and some of that income was earned while Biden was living in California, so he likely failed to pay state taxes as well.
The Plea Agreement between Hunter Biden and federal prosecutors filed in the Delaware shows that Hunter failed to pay taxes on millions from companies and individuals in Ukraine, China and Romania. Hunter was living in California for at least part of the time according to the later filing by prosecutors (snip) Newsom’s hand-picked Attorney General, Rob Bonta, has pledged to prosecute tax cheats.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) has now made himself the point man to take revenge on Justice Sam Alito for overturning Roe v. Wade and authoring the Dobbs decision. This self-appointed czar of Supreme Court ethics has written a letter to Chief Justice John Roberts complaining about Alito’s ethics.
Whitehouse, an old Yankee trust-fund baby and a descendent of Plymouth Colony Puritans, is trying to play the ethical purity card against Alito, the New Jersey son of an Italian immigrant from Calabria. It should be interesting. A battle as old as the country is brewing, a classic struggle between old nose-in-the-air money trying to shut up those nose-to-the-grindstone

Across the globe, the U.S. faces a growing list of dangerous foreign policy challenges. But is the 80-year-old President Joe Biden, with growing signs of age-related mental issues, up to the task? A large majority of Americans, including Democrats, say no, according to the latest I&I/TIPP Poll.
Global dangers abound. China’s engaged in a massive military buildup and poised to attack Taiwan. Meanwhile, Russia wages a bloody war with U.S.-supported Ukraine. In the Mideast, Iran’s nuclear program nears completion, and the U.S.’ 2021 Afghanistan departure has left a power vacuum across the region. This is just a partial list of growing threats.

Engraved on the Statue of Liberty pedestal, a stirring poem by American poet Emma Lazarus, "The New Colossus," eloquently captures the essence of compassion and virtue that has defined the American spirit. This renowned excerpt -- "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" -- has welcomed thousands of immigrants as they journeyed from distant lands to the embrace of America's shores.

“I don't think anybody can deny the impact of the climate crisis anymore,” said President Joe Biden while touring the damage caused by Hurricane Idalia in Florida last weekend. “Just look around,” he urged. “Historic floods. I mean, historic floods. More intense droughts, extreme heat, significant wildfires have caused significant damage,” Biden continued in his attempt to blame natural disasters on the “climate crisis.” Biden's claims might be a politically expedient excuse, but it's just that: an excuse to cover for what is often mismanagement by Democrat leaders.

AUSTIN — In Texas, the impeachment trial of popular Attorney General Ken Paxton has gotten off to its historic start. The state has never impeached an AG before, and the last time a statewide elected official was removed from office was in 1917 — more than 100 years ago.
For many in corporate media, the day of trial was a long time coming. For more than a decade, Paxton and his wife, Sen. Angela Paxton, have been relentlessly pursued in the press on allegations of misconduct and impropriety.

KYIV, Ukraine —A Russian missile tore through an outdoor market in eastern Ukraine on Wednesday, killing 17 people and wounding dozens, as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken returned to the country with more than $1 billion in new American funding for Ukraine, including military and humanitarian aid.
Blinken’s fourth visit to the country was overshadowed by the strike in the city of Kostiantynivka, near the front line in the Donetsk region, that turned the marketplace into an inferno. It was one of the deadliest bombardments of civilians in the 18-month-old war. In addition to the dead, at least 32 people were wounded.

On the latest episode of uncovering the Censorship Industrial Complex, Rep. Jim Jordan exposed how the White House used foreign misinformation to get Facebook to do its political bidding. Jordan released part five of the Facebook Files on X (formerly Twitter) Tuesday which brought to light an alliance between the formerly U.K. based censorship activist organization Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), the Biden White House and Facebook. “Foreign activists at the CCDH feed false info to the Biden White House,” Jordan wrote. “The Biden Admin then uses the full weight of the federal govt to coerce Facebook to censor Americans

Democrat influencers were recently caught photoshopping pictures of President Biden to make him appear younger. Now, President Biden’s own Twitter account has adopted the same strategy. On Wednesday afternoon, Biden’s campaign account, @JoeBiden, tweeted two images of Donald Trump and Joe Biden side-by-side. The tweet displayed an unflattering picture of Donald Trump at a golf course, next to a bright, confident image of Biden departing Air Force One.
“The last guy didn’t build a damn thing. We are,” the caption read.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed a co-founder of Moms for Liberty, a “parental rights” group that has sought to take over school boards in multiple states, to the Florida Commission on Ethics on Wednesday.
Tina Descovich was named to the nine-member, Tallahassee-based commission, which investigates alleged breaches of public trust by elected and appointed officials, as well as state employees.
Descovich was previously elected to the School Board of Brevard County in 2016 and served as president of the Florida Coalition of School Board Members. Moms for Liberty started with Descovich and two other Florida women fighting COVID-19 restrictions in 2021. It has quickly ascended as a national player

Republicans are pledging “never again” to any Biden administration attempts to reintroduce COVID “tyranny” mandates amid rising concerns over potential coronavirus surges, vowing to implement legislation and other efforts to guarantee “ineffective, unscientific mask mandates” don’t return in “any way, shape, or form.”
In response to ongoing threats of the restoring of various coronavirus mandates, GOP lawmakers are vowing resistance.
Republican Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio introduced the “Freedom to Breathe Act,” which aims to prohibit federal mask mandates, especially in public schools, airplanes, and public transport, effective until the end of 2024.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has launched a nationwide workforce initiative that seeks to funnel millions of border crossers and illegal aliens into United States jobs — even as the labor force participation rate for Americans continues to decline.

Harvard University has been ranked the worst school for free speech in the U.S. - with the Ivy League institution being awarded zero points out of a possible 100.
The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression releases a similar list of rankings for American institutions of higher education every year.
For 2023, Harvard - which has never performed well by FIRE's standards - was dubbed an 'abysmal' place for free speech.Despite being arguably the most elite academic institution in the country, Harvard's 0-point score was a full 11 points behind the next worst school on the list, fellow Ivy League University of Pennsylvania.
