After previously indicating that he would not participate in the first GOP primary debate in Milwaukee, which is scheduled for Wednesday, former president Donald Trump has announced that he won’t participate in any of the 2024 GOP presidential primary debates.“The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had, with Energy Independence, Strong Borders & Military, Biggest EVER Tax & Regulation Cuts, No Inflation, Strongest Economy in History, & much more. I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES!” Trump announced Sunday

Chris "Cholesterol" Christie will still seek to destroy him. Maybe Governor of North Dakota, Doug Burgum, will follow by doing the same. Asa Hutchinson making sure they have enough to talk about DJT.

Debates have always been vastly overrated for determining the best candidate for office. The ability to think fast on your feet when under the spotlight has little to do with the ability to make wise, reasoned decisions or effective governance.
I remember when challenging an opponent to a debate was mothing more than the last desperate attempt of a candidate who was far behind to get attention.

Excellent points made by #2.
The days of classical, intelligent debate are but a vanishing memory. Today's events are much more about the so-called moderators and their gotcha questions. The candidates are given mere moments to respond, if lucky. Usually the moderators jumps in rudely, working to help or harm the one speaking.
A total waste as currently designed.

The fact that not one of them has withdrawn and announced full support of the President in light of the unprecedented abuses of power mobilized against him by a thoroughly corrupt judiciary at the Federal, State, and Municipal levels, is stunning. If the Communist Dems succeed there will be 1 party rule forever. Why is this so hard for anyone to grasp?

I was glad to hear John Fredericks on War Room this morning say they have reconsidered covering the debate. I believe the team was already there, about to start setting up. He decided that in solidarity with PDJT, he isn’t going to cover it. He hopes that other conservative media will join him.
BRAVO.

As will I, even if he was on the stage. Over rated and basically boring and a waste of time. I participated in better debates in high school. But if you enjoy them you do you. I also will not watch Tucker interview Trump. I feel the same way about such interviews. I find it hard to believe that most haven't already made up their minds about the candidates. It will be interesting to see the numbers.

Can you imagine a debate between President Trump and Criminal Biden? How, for instance, a Fake Media moderator would bend over backward rigging questions to protect the current Traitor in chief (assuming he's still sucking air)?

The Trumpster is right to skip the debates. However, i suggest he not schedule anything heads-up against any debate. He needs the people to see the debates between the 7 dwarfs and then compare that to his proven actions and plans. He can have his big interviews earlier or later than the media debates. No need to continue antagonize anyone just for spite. He still needs the voters come election time. The people can figure it out.

Back in the mid '90s, I served on a promotion board/assessment center for a nearby police agency, looking to bolster their command staff's upper ranks. Begun in the early '90s, assessment centers were designed to eliminate the historic "good old boy" method of public sector promotions by using outsiders to evaluate candidates, based on a set of objective criteria. The ground rules dictated each candidate would participate in multiple modules of simulated on-the-job challenges, such a "leaderless" group discussion, an "in-basket" exercise, which was designed to assess a candidate's prioritization skills, a few verbal command scenarios, and a personal statement as to why the candidate should receive the promotion. I recall a hot-shot candidate who refused to participate, telling the reviewers, "I've been there and done that. You all know my capabilities and my work history." Perhaps the few in-house executives on the board were aware of the candidate's history, but the bulk of the assessments team had never seen or heard of him. In the final analysis, Golden Boy finished with the lowest marks, despite his claims of "skins on the wall." In politics, voters comprise the "assessment team." For '24, a sizable number of voters may not be aware of FPDJT's in-office successes, partly owing to the negative mainstream press having a pre-existing, virulent bias against citizen DJT. With Trump's debate skills and his grasp of the actual job, he should make mincemeat out of his field of rivals. Of course his followers will vote for him, regardless of his debate participation - or even party affiliation' however, in order to create a margin that would negate the planned democrat cheating on tap for the general election, Trump would certainly benefit from some cross-over/independent voters and disillusioned minority voters pulling the lever for him. In other words, despite the feelings of justification for him skipping out on the debates, an acknowledged part of our system, Trump my not be materially helping his election run. It may or may not matter; I'm just offering an alternative view, while acknowledging Trump's ability to communicate effectively when he so desires.

Like Trump, I am going to skip the "debate." I've started a new mystery novel.
