A federal judge Thursday denied a bid by Jan. 6 rioter Jacob Chansley — better known as the “QAnon Shaman” — to vacate his conviction in light of footage from the Capitol that day aired by ex-Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
Chansley, who stood out from the Jan. 6 crowd for wearing face paint and a horned headdress during the riot, pleaded guilty to obstruction and was sentenced in November 2021 to 41 months in prison.
But in March 2023, Carlson aired footage of Chansley that showed him walking in the Capitol unimpeded by a group of officers who followed him — footage he claimed was exonerating.

President Biden is reportedly using "lower stairs" in Air Force One to avoid tripping incidents, Politico reported Wednesday, noting an "intentional shift" in an effort to make presidential travel easier.
Politico reported that two of Biden's advisers "privately acknowledged an intentional shift to steer the 80-year-old president to the lower stairs more often to make his travel easier and limit the possibility for missteps."
The outlet also highlighted the president was wearing sneakers as opposed to dress shoes recently.

A worker earning $650,000 in Manhattan would have saved more than $250,000 per year by moving to Austin, Texas, due to lower taxes and cost of living, a new study finds.
Six-figure earners can save more than 40 percent of their salary and shave up to 10 percentage points off their effective tax rate by making the move, according to research from SmartAsset published on Thursday.
The study compared cost savings for high earners moving from either Chicago, San Francisco, or New York to Austin, and found that the savings were the greatest for New Yorkers.

The FBI on Thursday blasted two top Republican lawmakers for supporting the release of an internal investigative document that contains unverified allegations that President Joe Biden and his son Hunter accepted bribes from a Ukrainian gas company — claims the White House called "dishonest" and which even some Republicans have cast doubts on.
"The safeguards the FBI placed on the production of this information are necessary to protect the safety of confidential sources and the integrity of sensitive investigations," the bureau said in a statement to Insider. "Today's release of the 1023 [form] - at a minimum - unnecessarily risks the safety of a confidential source."

The release Thursday of an FBI “FD-1023” document detailing allegations of bribery against President Joe Biden boosts the case for opening an impeachment inquiry into the president.
The FD-1023 suggests that a Ukrainian businessman from the Burisma energy company allegedly paid Joe Biden through shell companies, and hired his son, Hunter Biden, in an effort to help remove a prosecutor who was investigating the company. The FD-1023 also contains allegations that Joe and Hunter Biden were each paid $5 million to make sure that prosecutor Viktor Shokin was fired, apparently because Burisma wanted to list itself on U.S. stock markets and could not be under investigation

That FD-1023 that there has been so much discussion of? It is now available to the public thanks to Chuck Grassley and James Comer. Your reaction to it will boil down to your inclination to believe that the Bidens are pure as the driven snow or credibly accused of influence peddling. Obviously, I fall into the latter camp, but admit freely that the 1023 contains smoking gun accusations and recounts conversations the confidential informant, who himself is said to be credible, with people involved in the matter.
In other words, the information is 1 step removed from being an accusation by a person

One of the most basic lessons that we teach law students is that you should “never ask a question you don’t know the answer to.”
The peril of the poorly crafted question was on display in Wednesday’s hearing with two whistleblowers on political interference in the Hunter Biden investigation. Most Democrats avoided any questions on the substance of the allegations, focusing instead on everything from systemic racism to the use of the term “two-tiered system of justice” and, of course, Donald Trump.
Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) often goes where wiser members fear to tread.

Now, the emperor knows he has no clothes, he knows you know it, and he doesn’t care — in fact, he might march down the street and gyrate in your face.
It’s not a good development for lovers of self-governance, but there’s a kind of camaraderie in knowing everyone else with half a brain cell can see through the act. One, Tara Reade alleged she was sexually assaulted by Biden, who denied the charge. Yet Biden himself finally was forced to apologize for some of his behavior. Or as he said at the time, “I get it.”
He claimed that he would no longer improperly invade the “private space” of women and had meant no harm.

When completed, the project is set to deliver 4.5 gigawatts of electricity to the California grid. But because even the steadiest offshore winds blow only intermittently, the average production of the turbines will be around 1.8 gigawatts—just 5 percent of California’s current electricity consumption. If California goes all-electric, as state regulators insist it must,

When your whole life is about freeloading, and from only the best, what's the problem with bumming a ride on Air Force One?
Which is what Prince Harry and his disastrous wife were caught trying to do.
Seriously.
Here is the story from the New York Post:
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tried to hitch a ride back to America on Air Force One after the Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral but were quickly rebuffed.
Sources told the Daily Mail Wednesday that it was an immediate no from the White House, adding that the request was a “non-starter.”

Thirteen days after President Joe Biden told the nation that “Bidenomics is working,” the Congressional Budget Office released a report showing just how well it’s working – bankrupting the country far faster than anyone expected.
The report looks at spending and revenues for the first nine months of this fiscal year, which started in October. What it reveals is remarkable, both because it shows how reckless the Biden administration has been with spending and how it’s sapped the economy of strength.
The topline number is that the federal deficit so far this fiscal year has already topped $1.4 trillion,

The City of New York agreed to pay a $13.7 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit brought by protesters who accused NYPD officers of using unlawful policing tactics and violating the rights of demonstrators during the 2020 protests and rioting sparked by the death of George Floyd.
The city has agreed to pay out $9,950 per person to up to 1,380 people who were “arrested and/or subjected to force by N.Y.P.D. officers” during protests at 18 different locations throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn in May and June of 2020, according to the New York Times.
The city denied liability in the settlement agreement and also denied

Disney, Netflix, Amazon, and other studios rejected Sound of Freedom, producer Eduardo Verástegui told Breitbart News during an exclusive interview at the Turning Point Action Conference in West Palm Beach, Florida, over the weekend, giving glory to God for His faithfulness and the success of the movie.
Verástegui detailed the movie’s journey in an interview with Breitbart News days ahead of former President Donald Trump hosting a viewing of the box office surprise at his club in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Wednesday.
“First of all, I am so grateful for what is happening. Just, you know, I feel like I’m dreaming. And I’m afraid to wake up because this is a dream.

The deep state’s incessant attempts to undermine the 2024 presidential election by throwing President Joe Biden’s number one political enemy in jail is getting old. It seems like every day, Biden bureaucrats and Democrats manufacture new justifications for why former President Donald Trump deserves to be behind bars.
“Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter … stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and an Indictment,” Trump announced in a Truth on Tuesday.

Last month, two conservative groups made court filings to oppose Florida’s anti-woke law: The Academic Freedom Alliance (“AFA”) joined the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (“FIRE”) challenging the statute’s constitutionality.
The Florida law bans promotion of divisive concepts, based on race or sex, in the educational setting. Its language is similar to President Trump’s Executive Order 13950 which applied to the federal workforce but was withdrawn when Biden took office.
Challengers claim that the Florida law chills the free speech rights of professors and therefore violates both the First Amendment and what is called “academic freedom,”

The identity of the anonymous IRS whistleblower alleging political misconduct throughout the Hunter Biden investigation was revealed on Wednesday as special agent Joseph Ziegler — a gay Democrat with more than a dozen years serving within the agency’s criminal investigative division.
Ziegler appeared for the first time publicly before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, alongside his IRS supervisor Gary Shapley, who also has blown the whistle on political influence surrounding prosecutorial decisions throughout the years-long federal probe into the president's son.

NEW YORK (AP) — New York City has agreed to pay more than $13 million to settle a civil rights lawsuit brought on behalf of roughly 1,300 people who were arrested or beaten by police during racial injustice demonstrations that swept through the city during the summer of 2020.
If approved by a judge, the settlement, which was filed in Manhattan federal court Wednesday, would be among the most expensive payouts ever awarded in a lawsuit over mass arrests, experts said.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wanted to ride back to the United States on Air Force One after the Queen's funeral – but the request was denied by the White House in case it caused a 'commotion,' sources have revealed to DailyMail.com. Months earlier, First Lady Jill Biden was also invited to attend Harry's Invictus Games – but the idea was killed amid concerns that the Royal Family may have been offended by her presence there. Both the failed initiatives are understood to have been part of a campaign by the Sussexes to gain political influence

I’m far from an expert on dementia, but it looks to my layman’s eye that the pace of President Biden’s decline is picking up. So, what if something awful happens and nobody can deny with a straight face that he is impaired?
His puppet masters want him to remain in office through the election. An incumbent Kamala Harris (snip) is a sure loser. (snip) Then there is Jill Biden, with her love of titles, status, and perks, who would want to stay on as First Lady (snip) What would Kamala Harris do as she is denied access to the presidency while the public is increasingly aware

On Wednesday’s broadcast of Newsmax TV’s “The Record,” Harvard Law Professor and Newsmax Legal Analyst Alan Dershowitz stated that we cannot trust the Department of Justice “to investigate the son of the man who appointed everybody in the Justice Department” and U.S. Attorney David Weiss “is not able to do the job with the restrictions that have been placed on him.” Dershowitz also argued that Hunter Biden’s plea deal shouldn’t be accepted without investigating what kind of jurisdiction Weiss had.
Dershowitz said, “Weiss is not able to do the job with the restrictions that have been placed on him. We need to either give him the status of a special prosecutor,

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) came to Trump’s defense over reports that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has been weighing potential charges against the former president for his alleged conduct during the January 6, 2021 riot on Capitol Hill.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the U.S. House Speaker said he does not see any reason for the former president to be found criminally responsible for January 6.
“I don’t see how he could be found criminally responsible,” McCarthy said. “What criminal activity did he do? He told people to be peaceful.”
This past Sunday, the former president revealed on Truth Social that he would have to appear before a grand jury this week
