Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and the campaign of South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott both said Wednesday they’ve reached the number of individual donors that the Republican National Committee is requiring candidates to have in order to make the GOP debate stage in August.
“I am glad to be able to tell people tonight, Anderson, that last night we went past 40,000 unique donors in just 35 days,” Christie told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on “AC360.”
His announcement comes the same day Scott’s team announced he’s also met the threshold, having received contributions from 53,000 unique donors across all 50 states.

One of the most important observations in the Donald Trump era of American politics — now celebrating its eighth anniversary — came in the book “The Divider,” by Susan Glasser and Peter Baker. It concerns Trump’s early relationship with Fox News and its founder Roger Ailes.
“What Ailes saw in Trump that he did not see in any other Republican politician of recent years,” Glasser and Baker write, “was someone who connected with the Fox audience even more than Fox did.”
This was the early days, after Trump had ascended to the forefront of Republican primary polling in July 2015.

BRUSSELS, July 12 (Reuters) - The European Parliament on Wednesday voted to pass a fiercely contested law to restore degraded natural ecosystems, salvaging the environmental measures that centre-right lawmakers had campaigned to kill off.
European Union lawmakers adopted the legal proposal with 336 votes in favour, 300 against, and 13 abstentions. Lawmakers and member countries will now negotiate the final text, aiming for a deal before EU Parliament elections in 2024. "We have won. It is a social victory: for scientists, for young people, for a lot of companies and businesses, for the agricultural sector," Cesar Luena, the parliament's lead negotiator on the law, told reporters after the vote.

The State and Commerce Departments were among the government agencies targeted by Chinese hackers last month in the weeks preceding Antony Blinken’s trip to Beijing.
The hacks were probably affiliated with China’s military and spy services, the New York Times reported, and they began after months of increasing tensions between Washington and Beijing. Republicans have called on the administration to halt its pursuit of a thaw, given the spy-balloon incident, China’s ongoing cooperation with Cuba, and the country’s treatment of the Uyghurs and Taiwan.

The nation’s constitutional Framers worked hard to create a government that responded to its citizens’ interests rather than telling citizens what their interests should be. The Framers, indeed, feared a government that could control the flow of information and impose its views on the governed. The First Amendment was created to allow for citizens, not the government, to manage the marketplace of ideas.
Federal District Judge Terry Doughty clearly understands this principle, as evidenced by the preliminary injunction he handed out recently that restricts the Biden administration from manipulating and pressuring social media outlets for its own messaging purposes.

Republicans had stronger voter turnout than Democrats did in the 2022 midterms, as the GOP narrowly won control of the U.S. House of Representatives — but failed to win the U.S. Senate.
Just a sliver of the electorate — 6% of voters — crossed party lines in last year’s election, reflecting the small size of the swing vote that’s truly up for grabs in this increasingly politically polarized nation. And just slightly more than one-third of all eligible voters participated in all three of the most recent national elections — 2018, 2020 and 2022 — demonstrating how fluid the electorate is from cycle to cycle.

Joe Biden is considering providing longer-range missiles to Ukraine in its war with Russia following his controversial decision to also send cluster munitions.
The administration has been wary of sending Kyiv the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) because it has a range of just under 200 miles – meaning it could be used to strike Russia and Crimea from Ukraine.
Some U.S. politicians have maintained that while they want to arm Ukraine with the weapons to defend against Russian aggression, they do not want to provide the country with the means to launch their own counterattack.

A car in front of me recently at a traffic light had a political sticker on its rear bumper that read, “Leave no one behind — vote Democrat .” The message isn’t new, and I’ve seen the sticker before, but I found it freshly notable because it has surely never been more obviously false than it is today.
It expressed the quintessence of the party’s message that Democrats are for the masses, the millions of little guys, rather than the big guys who have too much power already. The Blue party supposedly considers everyone and ensures that all stragglers are given a helping hand.

When it comes to protecting religious freedom in America, forget about the civil rights community. Just like President Biden, these groups have now surrendered to progressive ideologies, unwilling to defend anyone who disagrees with them – even if the opposition is grounded in sincerely held religious belief. A look at this past Supreme Court term proves this point.
Take, for example, the recent case involving Lorie Smith, a Christian website designer who wanted to expand her business to offer wedding websites for couples celebrating traditional marriage.

Yesterday a House Committee — Republican-led, but still — released a series of documents showing without a doubt that the FBI has been forwarding thousands of content moderation “requests” to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube on behalf of the SBU, Ukraine’s Security Agency.
The documents not only contain incontrovertible evidence that our own FBI pressures tech companies to censor material, but that the Bureau is outsourcing such work to a foreign government, in this case Ukraine. This passage below for instance reads “The SBU requested for your review and if appropriate deletion/suspension of these accounts.”

The California state legislature is considering a bill that would allow judges to use sentencing in criminal cases to “rectify racial bias” in the criminal justice system as a whole.
The bill, AB 852, passed the State Assembly in May and is currently going through the committee process in the State Senate. It notes that existing law already allows defendants to challenge their sentences as racially biased, but it would add that judges can consider race in sentencing.
The bill was introduced in February by State Rep. Reggie Jones-Sawyer (D-South Los Angeles) and is intended as part of the “reparations” package recently proposed by a state panel to the legislature.

Dmitry Medvedev, now Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council and a Putin ally, said 'World War III' was 'fast approaching' and the Russian invasion of Ukraine would 'continue'.
It comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed new G7 security commitments to the country but warned it could not be a substitute for NATO membership. Mr Medvedev said: 'The completely mad West has failed to invent anything else. In fact, it is a dead end.
'World War III is approaching. What does all this mean for us? Everything is obvious.

The FBI on Monday asked Americans to help them protect the country by reporting criminal activity to them at 800-225-5324. (Tweet) You can imagine the responses!
The FBI is the leading criminal organization in America today!
The FBI:
** Spied on President Trump based on phony information
** Lied to the American people about spying on Trump
** Hid the Hunter laptop
** Still can’t find the Hunter laptop
** Lied about the laptop
** Lied to the American public during Trump’s impeachment knowing Trump did nothing wrong
** Sent operatives to the US Capitol on January 6
** Infiltrated the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers

FBI Director Christopher Wray denied that his agency is protecting President Joe Biden or the Biden family on Wednesday.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) pushed the director on the FBI’s behavior toward the Bidens during a House Judiciary Committee hearing. The hearing was the first time Wray testified on the Hill since Republicans took control of the House.Gaetz began his time for questioning by asking Wray about a WhatsApp message Hunter Biden allegedly sent to CEFC China Energy executive Henry Zhao in 2017.

Matt Gaetz went off on Chris Wray during Wednesday’s Judiciary Committee hearing.
The truly corrupt FBI Director attempted to get in the last ling after brutal questioning from Matt Gaetz. But Matt Gaetz did not disappoint and dropped this to end his questioning.Matt Gaetz: Instead of straight answers, you give answers that later the court deems are not true. And then at the end of the day you won’t criticize and obvious shakedown when it’s directly in front of us. And it appears as though you’re whitewashing the conduct of corrupt people.

A seven-member commission voted Tuesday to immediately withdraw the Montana State Library from membership in the American Library Association, a national nonprofit founded in 1876 that advocates for and provides services to tens of thousands of libraries across the country.
The Montana State Library Commission’s decision came in response to a 2022 tweet posted by current ALA President Emily Drabinski describing herself as a “Marxist Lesbian,” which quickly drew the attention of conservative media outlets nationwide.

A man in Kentucky hit the jackpot after he discovered over 700 coins from the Civil War era on his rural farm.
The findings have been nicknamed the “Great Kentucky Hoard” and include a group of 1863 Double Eagles and hundreds of US gold dollars dated from 1850 to 1862, as well as a few silver coins, per Numismatic Guaranty Company, which certified the pieces.
In a YouTube video posted by GovMint, one of the biggest collectible coin marketers in the United States, the unidentified man is seen digging up the pieces of treasure — potentially worth millions — from the dirt.
“This is the most insane thing ever,” he said.

Journalist and filmmaker Mike Cernovich, who was an early supporter of Ron DeSantis and a vocal critic of President Trump, tried to assist the DeSantis campaign in formulating a viable strategy to counter Trump and run a successful 2024 campaign against him. However, he claims that his advice was either disregarded or implemented too late, leading to missed opportunities. Mike made this revelation while responding to a tweet from a follower asking him if DeSantis could pick up steam. Mike response starts with “No,” and then he goes on to explain more.

Leslie Van Houten, a former Charles Manson follower and convicted murderer, was released from a California prison on Tuesday, a prison spokesperson told CNN.
Van Houten was released to parole supervision, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokesperson Mary Xjimenez said. Van Houten will have a three-year maximum parole term with a parole discharge review occurring after one year, Xjimenez said. Van Houten, now in her 70s, was 19 when she met Manson and joined the murderous cult that came to be called the “Manson family.”
Prior to her release on Tuesday, she was serving concurrent sentences of seven years to life after she was convicted in 1971 for her role

President Joe Biden’s public approval rating was stuck at 40 percent in early July, close to the lowest levels of his presidency, defying White House efforts to further engage voter support.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll delivered the bad news for the president as he looks to another run for office in 2024, telling Turkish President Recep Erdogan overnight he would win re-election next year and would be working with him for the next five years, as Breitbart News reported. The three-day online poll, which asked Americans, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as president?” and ended Monday, showed a marginal decrease from his 41 percent

Whistleblowers allege President Joe Biden and his family have taken up to $30 million in illicit bribes and payments from foreign sources tied to China, Russia and Ukraine. Biden denies it. Do Americans believe him? No. By more than 2-to-1, they say they believe the whistleblowers, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows.
The online poll of 1,341 adults, taken July 5-7, asked respondents how likely is it that the claims are true? The poll has a margin of error of +/-2.7 percentage points.
The results weren’t close. Americans, by 56% to 27%, called Biden bribery charges “likely,”

We have received multiple emails from people saying that theaters are telling patrons that air-conditioning is broken in the auditoriums showing the hit movie Sound of Freedom and offering another movie or a refund. Many people fear that a campaign is underway to suppress the box office totals for the film, which exposes the sex-trafficking of children. The box office success of SoF is particularly embarrassing for Disney, whose ridiculously expensive Indiana Jones movie is performing poorly and unlikely to earn a profit,

The corporate media kicked off the week with another outrageous story to spin President Joe Biden, the man guilty of politically persecuting his chief political opponent and potentially selling American policy out to foreign adversaries, as an “ethical” president. Biden is “reset[ting] the guardrails against … abuses of power” and “increas[ing] public trust in government,” reads a Time magazine article unironically titled, “Biden Is Resetting the Ethical Norms Trump Trampled as President.”
“President Biden is proud to have restored respect for the rule of law and will not exploit his office with convention events on the White House lawn,”

When a blue-state governor in a failing blue state starts cutting red tape as if he were President Trump, look out: He's running for president.
Which brings us to Gavin Newsom, who, sure enough, is suddenly starting to act like a Republican.
He signed off on this this week, according to The Hill:
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) Monday signed into law a package of infrastructure bills that aim to cut the red tape associated with building new projects, while also ensuring environmental protection. (snip) Which is weird stuff, because Newsom's never cared about red tape before, or at least, not enough to do anything about it

On MSNBC’s The ReidOut, host Joy Reid brought on leftist activist and turncoat former Republican Kurt Bardella to smear and mock Republicans in Congress for wanting to hold Joe Biden’s drug addict criminal son Hunter accountable for his many crimes. Proving that he has no self-awareness at all, Bardella claimed some Republicans secretly think House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and other members of the committee investigating Hunter look like “a bunch of morons.”

That is the conclusion of the House’s Select Committee on the Coronavirus Pandemic in a report issued today on early efforts to squelch speculation that the coronavirus may have escaped from the Wuhan lab. The report focuses on the famous conference call of February 1, 2020, among an international group of virus experts, and the production, rapidly thereafter, of a report titled “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2” which became one of the most cited and most influential scientific papers ever written.

High-profile scientists caught up in the controversy over Covid’s origins have admitted the decision to play down the lab leak theory was political.
Internal Slack communications obtained by a House subcommittee investigating the early days of the pandemic showed how scientists who wrote a paper dismissing the idea of a lab accident feared retribution from the Chinese government.
Dr Andrew Rambaut, a biologist at the University of Edinburgh, was a co-author of the March 2020 Nature Medicine research article titled 'The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2' which degenerated believers of the lab leak theory as conspiracy theorists and racists.

As previously reported, Rivera rage quit Fox News after getting canned from “The Five.” He made the announcement form his boat in New York.
Unfortunately, the former Fox News host revealed that his next move was not permanent retirement but rather a return to the airwaves, at least for one day.
On Monday, Rivera announced that he would be sitting down with the View’s clucking hens on Thursday presumably to bash conservatives and his former employer. He was excited about the invite.

John and Nisha Whitehead over at The Rutherford Institute always write compelling essays documenting America's descent toward tyranny. "A State of Martial Law: America Is a Military Dictatorship Disguised as a Democracy" is no exception and deserves reading.
In that essay, the legal duo reminded me of something John Lennon once warned: "When it gets down to having to use violence, then you are playing the system's game. The establishment will irritate you — pull your beard, flick your face — to make you fight. Because once they've got you violent, then they know how to handle you."

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, is ignoring a request from Republicans on the House Oversight Committee to disclose the number of illegal aliens the agency has released directly into American communities through its massive parole pipeline.
As Breitbart News reported, late last month, Republicans on the House Oversight Committee, led by Reps. James Comer (R-KY) and Glenn Grothman (R-WI), asked Mayorkas to provide a total numerical accounting of illegal aliens DHS has released into the United States interior through the administration’s expansive parole pipeline.

On House Republicans investigating President Joe Biden, Raskin said, “Really what we see is a grasping at straws in attempts to find something, anything to get at Joe Biden. Why? Because it is a massive distraction from the fact that Donald Trump had one overriding purpose for being in office and one overriding purpose for coming back into office. He had a moneymaking operation. He converted the presidency into

Officer, Americans would like to report the Biden Administration’s FBI for the act of social media trolling. After all, that must explain why the “premier law enforcement agency” and political monkey wenchers that interfered with the 2016, 2020, and 2024 presidential elections laughably issued an appeal for Americans to come forward and report crimes.
The FBI issued a tweet that used a flowery script against a mauve pink background inviting Americans to “Speak Now.” “Justice is better than revenge,” the FBI’s tweet stated. “You may not be Superman, but you can help the #FBI protect the country. If you have information about a federal crime, speak now.”

The Biden administration on Monday slammed the Republican-controlled House’s version of 2024 National Defense Authorization Act for requiring military personnel decisions to be based on merit and not race or gender, among other provisions.
“The Administration strongly opposes the House’s sweeping attempts…to eliminate the Department’s longstanding [Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Access] efforts and related initiatives to promote a cohesive and inclusive force,” the Biden administration said in a Statement of Administration Policy.
The House’s NDAA contains a number of Republican-authored provisions to roll back the Biden administration’s efforts to push Marxist-based Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives throughout the entire Department of Defense establishment, including the military.
