An ESG loophole led investors to pile billions of dollars into Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil company, whose chief executive has criticized ESG investing. Bloomberg reported that Saudi Aramco has become an unlikely beneficiary of anti-climate change investing funds. Amin Nasser, the chief executive of Saudi Aramco, said that ESG policies have an “automatic bias against any all conventional energy projects ” that would lead to global problems surrounding energy affordability and energy security.

Selling Marxism has been a tough row to hoe in America, though that's not to say that those selling it haven't made inroads toward getting us there. But our laissez faire roots and inherent disdain for the anti-freedom control mechanisms needed to sustain outright communism have made it difficult for the peddlers to find the necessary buyers over the years. That's why they've gotten creative in recent decades, finding their magic beans, so to speak, by suggesting that "people of color" tend to be financially less well-off than white people, thereby establishing racial inequity as a substitute for class struggle.

President Joe Biden’s own Department of Justice just laid the smackdown on him after he urged the January 6 House Select Committee to prosecute those who do not comply with a Congressional subpoena. As he was outside the White House on Friday a CNN reporter asked him if those people, like former White House chief strategist Bannon, should be prosecuted. “Mr. President, what’s your message to people who defy Congressional subpoenas on the January 6 committee?” the reporter said. “I hope that the committee goes after them and holds them accountable criminally,” he said. “Should they be prosecuted by the Justice Department?” the reporter pressed. “I do, yes,” the president said.
American fascism? 3 replies

Fascism is a nebulous term which people throw around as a pejorative, even for minor things. When asked what they mean by fascism, they're at a loss. Like the word 'racist,' 'fascism' or 'fascist' is typically used by liberals and their ilk to smear their opponents and to cut off debates. As for those who seriously write about fascism, each seems to have their own definition. Perhaps George Orwell said it best in 1946: "The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies 'something not desirable.'"

A recent Fox News poll reported that 59% of Democrats have a favorable view of socialism compared with 49% who have a favorable view of capitalism. A few weeks ago, Nancy Pelosi, while speaking at an event in London, commented that capitalism has not served our country as well as it should. [SNIP] We have the illusion of choice when making a purchase or hiring a service, but, in fact, the choices are limited. The four largest airlines control 65% of air travel, and because one of the four usually dominates a regional hub, there is even less competition within a region.

Tucker Carlson sent the Left into a predictable frenzy of self-righteous rage this week by making a true, but politically incorrect, observation. The invasion that is unfolding at the southern border, Carlson said, is purposeful. Joe Biden and his Democratic allies have embraced open borders because they want to change America’s racial demographics. [snip] “Folks like me who are Caucasian, of European descent, for the first time in 2017 we’ll be in an absolute minority in the United States of America, absolute minority,” he said. “That’s not a bad thing, that’s a source of our strength.” Biden is not alone in his belief that white displacement is an inexorable destiny worth celebrating.

If you’ve been thinking of buying a house, you’ve probably noticed that house prices are soaring everywhere, not just in the usual preferred zip codes. You might have thought this is simply because of market deformations thanks to COVID and the lockdowns. In fact, the soaring prices reflect something much more sinister: Blackrock, an investment company is buying up housing stock, turning America into a nation of renters – that is, people with no stake in their communities or their futures. However, what’s really sinister is that it’s not just housing stock. BlackRock, along with The Vanguard Group, owns a disproportionate number of American corporations, more even than you realize.

Traditional American values have long been under attack by social justice warriors, cultural Marxists advancing the insidious tenets of critical theory. Their “long march through the institutions” has infiltrated schools, universities, entertainment, the mass media, the courts, politics, and beyond. One might assume that business, adhering to the Milton Friedman doctrine of maximizing returns for shareholders, would be insulated from their malign agenda. But that assumption...

Diplomatic immunity does not extend to terrorism, and that is very bad news for Iran's embassies. On February 4, 2021, a court in Antwerp, Belgium delivered a guilty verdict with 20 years of imprisonment in the case of Assadollah Assadi, a career Iranian diplomat who plotted a bombing attack against a major gathering of Iranian opposition members in France. A word is more than just a neutral label attached to an object; it also carries a time-hardened public attitude. The easiest way to change the attitude is to change the label; hence, I heard on NPR a mention of "sex workers." Juvenile drug-dealers — I kid you not — were called "boys who made a mistake."

There were voluminous reports, from eyewitnesses and experts, of widespread election fraud in the so-called battle states and beyond. Specific allegations were made, and evidence of election rules violations and statistical anomalies were collected. Yet the courts refused to listen to virtually all witnesses and experts, rejected most of the evidence, and refused to subpoena more evidence requested by the plaintiffs. Many state government officials and some top representatives of companies supplying voting machines and software categorically denied any election fraud.

Love them or hate them, electric vehicles (EVs) are in our future. If you doubt that, look at signs. Car companies around the world are in a mad rush to pivot to EV manufacturing. Some examples follow. "Since March 2019, General Motors has committed to invest more than $4.5 billion in three U.S. manufacturing sites to prepare for EV-related production. The company announced it plans to release at least 20 new electric vehicles globally by 2023." This includes a monstrous Hummer which GM is repositioning as a pickup truck to compete directly against Tesla.

The Biden administration on Monday slammed the Republican-controlled House’s version of 2024 National Defense Authorization Act for requiring military personnel decisions to be based on merit and not race or gender, among other provisions. “The Administration strongly opposes the House’s sweeping attempts…to eliminate the Department’s longstanding [Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Access] efforts and related initiatives to promote a cohesive and inclusive force,” the Biden administration said in a Statement of Administration Policy. The House’s NDAA contains a number of Republican-authored provisions to roll back the Biden administration’s efforts to push Marxist-based Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives throughout the entire Department of Defense establishment, including the military.

After all, that must explain why the “premier law enforcement agency” and political monkey wenchers that interfered with the 2016, 2020, and 2024 presidential elections laughably issued an appeal for Americans to come forward and report crimes. The FBI issued a tweet that used a flowery script against a mauve pink background inviting Americans to “Speak Now.” “Justice is better than revenge,” the FBI’s tweet stated. “You may not be Superman, but you can help the #FBI protect the country. If you have information about a federal crime, speak now.”
