And you can place the blame squarely on government-subsidized EVs for this terrible new development. The background is that state and federal gasoline taxes aren’t raising “enough” money these days to pay for roadway construction and maintenance. And a big reason for the growing shortfall is the increase in electric vehicles. EVs get massive tax subsidies to convince people to buy them, but their owners don’t pay gasoline taxes,

The Biden administration has just spent two years negotiating with a group of foreign countries to raise taxes on U.S. companies operating overseas. Now we’re being told it’s been “delayed” for two more years. But why delay a bad decision? It’s an awful idea that should be rejected out of hand.
“Americans have already been crushed by inflation caused by the Biden administration,” argued West Virginia congresswoman Carol Miller, in a recent op-ed. “But now, they want to add fuel to the fire by giving American taxes to foreign countries, raising costs for Americans, and sticking us with the bill for funding a global socialist agenda.”
Her analysis is spot on.
It didn’t take long for a New York Times article about Donald Trump’s plans to “increase presidential power in 2025” for the left to suffer yet another mental breakdown, rushing on the air and in print to call the news “terrifying,” “frightening,” “menacing,” “incredibly alarming.” And, of course, “fascist,” or as a University of North Carolina professor took to the Atlantic to declare, “a new kind of fascism.”

Over the weekend, CNN ran a segment titled “Why isn’t Joe Biden more popular?” noting that only one president in modern times had a lower approval rating at this point in his first term. That president was Jimmy Carter.
CNN pointed to an analysis by poll aggregator FiveThirtyEight, which finds that 57.6% disapproved of Jimmy Carter 915 days into his term, while 55% disapprove of Biden. The old joke in which one fellow asks what the socialists used for lighting before candles and the other fellow answers “electricity” could use some updating. Substitute “socialists” for “U.S. Democrats.” But it won’t be just the Democrats using candles, it’s going to be all of us.

For anyone keeping score, both of these promises bit the dust after cocaine was discovered in the White House and the Secret Service started stonewalling the public about the details. This comes days after Biden let “transgenders” parade around topless on the White House lawn while he desecrated the American flag, and years into running what is widely described as the most opaque administration in history.

The New York Post's Miranda Devine tweeted out an update on early Monday morning, in the form of a letter from the Southern District of New York (SDNY) making clear that they don't expect Archer to surrender before his Monday testimony before the House Oversight Committee. Writing to U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams, U.S. Attorney Damian Williams noted that "[t]o be clear, the Government does not request (and has never requested) that the defendant surrender before his Congressional testimony." The letter also added that the process involved "can take several weeks or months after the Court sets a surrender date."
